IBIZAN HOUNDS

A lovely entry both in numbers and quality, thank you. Some really typy hounds on show and the standard was high. As often with this breed, out and back movement was a bit patchy but there was plenty of ‘hover’ on display.

1st: CARTER, Mrs A Nevaeh's Radical Dude IMP USA, 16 months r/w of excellent overall type and construction, nice masculine head with flat skull and strong jaw, moderate front angulation, matching rear, level topline and ribbing carried well back. Not too keen on using his ears but they were well shaped and set, nice light profile action, quite a tall boy and bit of a teenager at present but very much one for the future.

1st: WOODCOCK, Miss V Abbotsoak Any Dream Will Do, 3 ½ years r/w, really lovely head and expression, used his thin mobile ears to great effect, well balanced head, elegant arch to neck, correct moderate angles, chest not too deep, but with ribbing carried well back; level topline with slight slope to croup, carried tail well on the move, light free stride and he displayed a quite distinct hover in profile; CC, his third, and his greater poise just earned him BOB over his litter sister.

2nd: EGAN-MCMILLAN, Ms E F & PARKER, Mr L & PHAIR, Mr J Ekleipsis de Entresaltos, r/w, slightly stronger in head that 1 but he also used his ears very well, again well constructed with correct angulation, good feet and pasterns, length of neck and ribbing, light active movement, not quite two and more to come from him.

1st: SAYLES, Miss R A N Ch SU Ch Abbotsoak Music Of The Nite w/r, litter brother to the Limit winner and of similar superb type; all round light and moderate construction with typical angles, decent head piece and ears though not quite as keen to show them off as his brother; moved very well in all directions with a touch of hover; RCC.

2nd: BROWN, Mrs J & BROWN, Mr G Serb MNE Ch Van Vasco Rjabina de Bergerac (Imp Ser), 6 yo r/w, a more strongly made boy with a good head and mobile ears, well made front and rear and his movement was sound and clean all round. Slightly soft in pastern and dipping in topline a bit.

3rd: JANKUNE, Mrs M U Sib SA Bes T Bruno Baltas Vejas TAF

1st: CARTER, Mrs A Afilador Amadora, 2yo r/w, lovely feminine head and outlook with fine mobile ears, sound and well made all through with breed typical construction, moved cleanly out and back, a really quality young bitch who needs to relax and settle into her showing, she was tucking herself up and rushing which spoiled her profile movement.

LB (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: HALL, Ms S Afilador Wheal Grace, litter sister to PG winner and while she is of similar excellent type and balance she is much more confident and happy in the ring. Clean eye-filling outline, beautiful head and expression with almond eye and fine ears, very good front, matching moderate rear, moved really well all round and clean coming at me, lovely young bitch. RCC.

2nd: WOODCOCK, Miss V Abbotsoak Grease Lightnin, w/r again of pleasing type and construction, very good ears and neck into correct front, plenty of forechest and level topline. Bit more angulation behind than in front and she was not being very co-operative on the move.

3rd: BROWN, Mrs J & BROWN, Mr G Beladona Rjabina de Bergerac (Imp Serb)

OB (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: TAYLOR, Miss J Ch Abbotsoak Carousel JW, w/r, yet another cracker from this super litter. Feminine head, mobile ears used well, so correct in type and construction with everything fitting together as it should, elegant and graceful both stacked and moving, with a definite hover in profile, quite a handful but a really classy bitch. CC.

2nd: EGAN-MCMILLAN, Ms E F & CATCHPOLE, Mrs P Ch Snowlief Red Sector A, broken coat r/w, at 8 years old still well able to compete with the younger bitches, typical make and shape, well balanced head with flat skull, good length of neck and moderate angles.

VB (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: TAYLOR, Miss J Falconcrag Valenta, r/w of nearly 10, quite a tall bitch with a typy head and well-used ears, good length of neck into a clean front, good feet and pasterns, long ribbing and she moved very well, perhaps a touch more rear angulation that I would prefer but in overall excellent shape for her age, BV.

2nd: EGAN-MCMILLAN, Ms E F & CATCHPOLE, Mrs P Ch Snowlief Prime Mover, very typical broken coated bitch whom I recall giving a Group placement in her youth; and at 11 years old she still has that lovely outline that draws the eye, carrying a little flesh now and showing her age in her hind movement but it was lovely to see her again looking so good still.

3rd: CARTER, Mrs A Amahte's Bewitched (Imp Can).
