Puppy D/B (3)

1, Martin & Howard’s Shandlmain’s Shuri with Sturtmoor, 9 months tri with plenty of substance, well angled front with correct return of upper arm, good depth of brisket, good feet, moved nicely going away and in profile, breaking slightly in pastern coming towards me; good length of loin and broad second thighs. Well placed ears and dark eyes; 2, Cowling & Bell’s Blamorder Opulence at Himinnsaga, blue merle out of a lighter mould, sound and well constructed with good length of body; good head planes and strong jaw, moved OK. Would prefer a darker eye and while his black markings are well-distributed his background colour is not as clear as I would like; 3, Benton’s Oakestelle God of Mischief.

Post Graduate D/B (6, 1 absent)

1, Benton’s Brackenhaye Queen of Hearts of Oakestelle, tri of excellent type and quality, feminine without any weakness. Good head planes with strong jaw and dark eye; correct front with springy pasterns and well padded feet, plenty of heart room and with slight rise over a good length of loin; she is very well schooled and her good conformation was reflected in excellent movement, clean out and back and a free low stride in profile. 2, Denton’s Brackenhaye Heart and Soul, litter sister to 1 and many of the same comments apply, a high quality young bitch with a most appealing outline, substance without coarseness; well constructed all through with pleasing expression. She was being rather bouncy and refusing to settle on the move but she did enough to show soundness and a ground covering action in profile; 3, Holloway’s Coneypark Coldplay.

Open D/B (7,4 abs)

Three classy mature bitches. 1, Benton’s Oakestelle Venus de Milo, 8yo blue merle, no mistaking her gender; very well constructed all through with an air of quality about her; she has a well balanced head with flat skull which is a touch on the narrow side; well placed tipped ears used all the time giving an alert keen expression; she is a clear silver blue with well distributed merle markings. Really scores in her movement, effortless and free flowing, a pleasure to watch. 2, Meacham’s Blamorder Curlywurly Girly at Zellamere, rather frustrating to judge as she is of lovely type with a really nice head and sweet expression, dark eye and flat skull; presents a lovely outline stacked with balanced proportions and no coarseness, everything flowing together harmoniously. On the move she is in far too much of a rush to dash off and cut corners, puts herself on her forehand and does not do herself justice. 3, Jerrett’s Blamorder Sunny Sky.
