I would like to thank Leeds Championship Show for their kind invitation to judge, at what turned out to be our first ‘imposed restriction free’ show. A well laid out showground, unfortunately our ring was on the smaller side and on rather a slope, which did effect movement. I must thank the exhibitors for their entry, some lovely dogs to judge and a nice atmosphere around the ring.

1st: 4689 ROBSON, Mr D & ROBSON, Mrs K & ROBSON, Mrs K Robricci Aramis

Appealing young 7 month old dog, who showed himself off well. He is certainly developing along the right lines, as he has a shapely outline. His head has good length, with a kind expression. Neck flows well into topline. Enough depth for his age. Well bent at the stifle with width to the thighs. A little loose in movement at the moment, but time will be his friend.

Hard to believe this dog is only 9 month old he has a cracking outline when stood. Very upstanding and mature in his stance. His head is balanced showing good length to the foreface, nice tight flews, correct eye shape to give a keen expression. Good length of neck, enough depth, and ribbing. Holding a firm topline. Well boned limbs onto tight feet. Strong hindquarters with a well bent stifle. In good coat and condition. Moving very positive and true - BP

Very smart 2 year old dog, who has a lovely flow to his outline, when not being a fidget! Showing good balance and body proportions. A pleasing masculine head, clean cut of good length. He has strength all through without being overdone, with good depth to the brisket, and gentle underline. Holding a firm topline both stood and on the move. Driving from strong well muscled hindquarters on the move.

An honest 2 year old dog, who is well constructed. When stood he has a clean and flowing outline. His head has a good length to the foreface, a little more depth to the flew. Strong neck of good length, clean over the shoulders, enough depth to the ribcage. Holding a level and firm topline. Lovely width to his thighs. Covering the ground on the move

His head has that noble and kind look to it, with expressive eyebrows! Long and muscular neck, with a well developed forechest and deep in the ribcage. Strength to his short loin. Well boned limbs onto neat feet. A free and positive mover

Slightly more refined 3 year old than winner. He has a lovely clean and elegant profile. He is balanced and unexaggerated. Masculine head of good proportions, with correct shaped eye, and well placed ears all giving a wise expression. Good length of neck, enough forechest and chest down to the elbow. Holding a firm topline. Using his quarters well to show good drive

Cracking dogs, thank you for allowing me the pleasure of judging them. The ring camber and size played a part in the movement, so on another day….

1st: 4649 CROWTHER, Mr D Sh Ch Hundwith McLaren

He is one of those dogs, that I couldn’t take my eyes off. Which was some feat in the present company! He makes his presence felt and has an air of superiority. Just loved his sound construction and unexaggerated symmetry. Having a noble and clean cut head, balanced proportions of back skull to foreface, delicate lips, and kind round eyes. Beautiful flow from nose to tail, with depth of brisket and nicely developed forechest, well boned limbs, and solid in his topline. Loved his bum, well rounded with solid muscle, wide in the thigh and stifles well bent. Shown is super muscular condition and fit as a fiddle. Moving with power reach and drive. Delighted to award him DCC & BOB

2nd: 4687 RAYNER, Mrs C & MASKELL, Mrs S Kalimor Accolade To Raystans JW

A little more range to his outline than winner, but loved his graceful and shapely profile. So noble in his bearing and shows himself off with confidence. Another with a lovely head piece, balanced and aristocratic, with a kind eye and slight median line. Clean neck flowing into a firm topline. Brisket well let down, and ribs carried well back, the underline is gentle. Hindquarters are strong and well bent at stifle. Once settled showed to be positive and true on the move. Shown in lovely coat and condition - RDCC

Strong neck, good depth, and development of forechest. Not quite as strong in his topline when stood. Lovely width of thigh and strong hindquarters. Pleasing 7 year old dog, from a slightly more refined mold than winner. He has nice overall balance of body proportions and thought him to be lean, fit,

and muscular. Clean cut head showing good proportions. Good length of neck, and depth. Holding a firm topline with well angulated hindquarters. Moving with power but not quite the precision of winner today

Upstanding 3 year old dog, who was 3rd in PG class. Lovely cheeky nature and alert to all going on around him. Clean through the topline, good depth to the brisket and nicely boned limbs. A little more moderate in hindquarters. Now more settled in this class and moving out more positively

A raw bitch, 18 months old, and seeming unsettled both stood and on the move. But time will be her friend and the confidence will come. She has a feminine head, enough depth for age, and pleasing hindquarters. Not really settling on the move but shows drive

Tending to bounce her topline on the move at present, but showing reach and drive

Lots to like about this youngster, lovely elegance to this 10 month old bitch, her outline when stood, is very shapely, little more compact, with nothing overdone. She has such a feminine head, clean lipped, well chiselled and a kind eye all giving that aristocratic look. Good length of neck, well developed in brisket and forechest, with a flow to her topline. Strength to the hindquarters and hocks well let down. Once settled moving with positive footfalls and good width behind.

Lovely to see this 10 month old L/H bitch. Today full of mischief, so not making it easy for her handler. Longer cast than winner, pleasing head, with good length to the foreface and moderate stop. Good length of neck, needing to drop into herself at the moment. Well boned limbs with strong pasterns and tight feet. Today roaching her topline on the move, showing a long easy stride

So much to admire on this bitch, just 12 months old and showing lovely maturity all through. Noble head and expression, with proportionate back skull to the foreface. Good length to her elegant neck, super depth to the brisket and well filled in forechest. Holding a firm topline to her strong hindquarters with well bent stifles. Precise and ground covering action on the move

2nd: 4694 SAYER & WALLWORK, Mr & Miss M Braefell Bumblebee

Another super bitch, but not very settled today which was a shame. Showing good balance when stood. Liked her elegant clean head, noble and refined. She has a flow from nose to tail. Good front assembly and standing on well bone legs onto tight feet. Chest down to the elbow, with a nice spring to the ribcage. Strong hindquarters, with width of thigh and well turned stifle. When settled a free and positive mover

Lovely bitch, so very smart and with super ring presence. Thought her to be balanced and unexaggerated, liking her size, substance, and femininity. She is elegant and refined in her head, with that aristocratic look about her. Well developed through the body, with good forechest, depth and spring to the ribs. She held a firm topline both stood and on the move. Strong and muscular hind quarters. All parts flowing beautifully together. At one with her handler, to move showing power reach and drive. Delighted to award her RBCC. I see from the catalogue that she is the daughter of my BCC winner.

Good length of neck, well developed in the forequarters, showing depth and spring to the ribs. Firm in her topline both stood and on the move. shown in lovely condition and well handled.

Well developed through the body, with nicely boned limbs, depth to the brisket and always holding a firm level topline. Strong hindquarters, well muscled and well angulated. A steady mover, but so true front and back

Pleasing overall size and shape to this 2 year old bitch, not quite the confidence of winner at present. Strength and elegance combined. Very balanced head piece, with clean flews, and kind eye. Nice flow to her neck and topline. Chest well let down, ribs carried well back, and muscular backend. Seemed a little unsettled on the move, but showed to be true

Powerful rear, which she used to advantage to drive around the ring

Close up to winner, with her shapely outline, being very balanced and unexaggerated. Lovely feminine head, well proportioned, with correct high set ears, median line and clean in flews. She has elegance to her body but still having strength, flowing nicely from nose to tail. Deep in brisket and firm in her topline, strong well angulated hindquarters. Moved out purposefully and with drive

Lovely lines throughout, well developed in front, tight elbows, and well boned limbs. She has strength over the loin, strong wide quarters. Moving out with a smooth action which covered the ground effortlessly.

Firm in her topline both stood and on the move. She used her strong hindquarters to drive around the ring with good width behind and true in front.

Balanced feminine head, with correct eye shape and ear placement all giving that noble expression. Well developed through the body, with well boned limbs and tight feet. Wide and muscular hindquarters. She has a free flowing movement with positive footfalls. Just loved her and pleased to award her the BCC & BOS – Also going onto win Veteran Group 2

Another with quality in abundance and in fantastic shape and condition for 9 years of age, what a super ambassador for the breed. Of a different stamp to winner, but beautifully balanced on the stack. Elegance and substance in a neat package. Feminine chiselled head, clean foreface, with median line. Strong neck flowing into a well held topline. Deep in chest and well sprung ribs. Still showing good muscle tone to hindquarters which she certainly put to good use to drive around the ring
