Labradors
It is so good to be getting back to some normality after the last horrific 18months. I have always enjoyed judging in Scotland and the welcome I received today showed why.
There was a mixture of coat quality, some in full coat others at various stages. Temperaments were superb. Just how they should be.
Some exhibits were carrying too much weight over the shoulders which was reflected in their front movement. That said I did have some really good specimens come under me making it such a pleasure to judge. Thank you.
Lastly the committee of SKC should be congratulated for managing to run 2 champ shows side by side. No mean feat.
Minor Puppy Dog (5; 0 abs)
1) Lewis Crammondkirk Buckley. A quality black baby well put together. Lovely head and clean reach of neck. Very good front and rear angulation and carrying just right amount of bone. Body needs to develop, but this to be expected at this age. Excellent coat. Good tail and set. Looked good standing and on the move.
2) Powells Seatallan Chilli. Another good looking black. Slightly shorter in body than 1, but this didn’t detract from his obvious quality. Good head and expression with well laid shoulders. Level topline with just enough depth of chest. Steady mover.
3) Digweeds Willokins Whistle Blower
Puppy Dog (4; 1 abs)
1) Marshall,Carson & Farqharsons Kinchyle Just a Dash (TAF) Very lively yellow. Taller than some but balanced. Pleasant head and expression. Length of upper arm just so. Deep spring of rib and not too long in coupling. Good turn of stifle. Moved well once calmed.
2) Potters Harrop Pick Pocket. Did not stay for critique.
3) Smiths Braudarach Braenuth
Junior Dog (5; 2 abs)
1) Browns Farbrae Good to Go. Yellow, strong in head but with a good reach of neck. Good through quarters with a deep body with just enough spring to ribs. Stood and moved well once settled.
1. Druggans Balladoole Captain Tom Pale yellow similar to 1, has a pleasing head well put together short coupled body, hindquarters firm in muscle and in overall good condition. Movement was generally good but just lacked the drive of 1
2)
3) Mclellans Saraden Shadeuxplay
Yearling Dog (4; 1 abs)
1) Harvey Majors Linjor Winter Frost. Darker yellow, masculine in head. Good reach of neck on well laid shoulders. Body and chest just right, not too long in loin. Good turn of stifle with well let down hocks. Moved true front and rear
2) Ellis & Matullas Dolwen Stargazer Paler yellow with good dark pigment. Not as strong in head . Level in topline with a barrel chest. Good rear angulation but preferred the front of 1. Good steady mover
3) Logans Madgack Monarda Minocque
Grad Dog (7; 2 abs)
1) Harvey Majors Linjor Winter Frost; As Yearling Dog
2) Lawsons Carriegame Carry on Camping Avec Isaiki. Chocolate with a very clean outline. Good head and reach of neck. Topline level and acceptable tail carriage. In good coat. For me, he just needs more drive when moving.
3) Bolds Shaymiloney Saint signed by Loubert
Post Grad Dog (7; 2 abs)
1) Druggans A Sense of Pleasures Get Lucky JW. Very smart black not overdone in any way. Liked his head, reach of neck and front angulation. Good spring of rib, level back and tailset. Clean turn of stifle with ample bone and length of leg. Double coated. Moved well without fault.
2) Gilroys Claychalk Costa Yen. Good coated yellow. Pleasing head and expression Just enough front angulation Topline true with ample depth to body. Movement was good and so was his tailset when standing, but his tail carriage in motion, spoilt the overall look.
3) Ayres & Jacksons Hannabee to Hull N Back with Musubi
Limit Dog (16; 4 abs)
1) Browns Ramseyville Revolver. This stunning black oozed quality. Lovely head and a melting expression. A perfect reach of neck with no coarseness at all. Excelled in front angulation. His deep chest, without being overdone, was supported by a level topline leading to a true tailset and otter tail. Very good rear angulation with hocks of a good length. His feet were well arched and tight. The double coat he wore completed the picture. Moved smartly with drive. Pleased to award him his first CC. I am sure more will come.
2) Druggans Mafia Labs Taboo Webster at Balladoole JW. Pleasing yellow, masculine in head and expression with enough width to his skull .Dark eyed with no roundness. Unblemished through his neck and shoulders, though for me, I would prefer a little more length to his upperarm. Level topline, with firm muscled hindquarters. Moved well.
3) Mclellans Saradens Pensacola
Open Dog (15; 6abs)
1) Hodges Naiken Elite Envoy(ai)JW Ir J Ch. Eye catching smart chocolate. Loved his head and expression Good reach of neck which led to long sloping shoulders. A firm level topline, body, not too deep, well sprung ribcage following through a clean coupling, were complimented by his rear angulation. Good tailset and carriage which he used to his advantage when moving. Overall picture was completed by his coat. Moved very well front and rear. RCC

Minor Puppy Bitch (16; 2 abs)
1) Percivals Wynfaul New Years Eve. Pretty black, really feminine in head and expression. Excellent in front with a pleasing length of upper arm. Good topline and I liked her tailset & turn of stifle. Her chest depth will come in time. Very tight arched feet along with plenty of bone. Wearing a good coat and moved very well.

Puppy Bitch (10; 2 abs)
1) Casey & Jayes Lapema Masquerade at Sandylands. Pale yellow of outstanding quality. 1) Lewis Crammondkirk Rockin Robin. This yellow really caught my eye standing and on the move. Well put together front and rear with andeep well sprung ribcage. Good through the loin and excellent tail and turn of stifle. Moved very well.
2) Mcgillivrays Antonine Sweet Dreams JW. Another yellow who pushed hard to win this class. Very similar to 1 but just slightly shorter in body. Just preferred the coat and overall finish of class winner. Moved well.
3) Parkers Newhorizon Sing It Again at Bruadarach
Limit Bitch ( 13; 2 abs)
1) Hodges Naiken Etoile (ai). Superbly put together Chocolate that didn’t fail to be noticed. Faultless head and expression with ideal eye colour. Reach of neck ,not overdone, was positioned on shoulders long and true. Her body was spot on with a topline to match. Short and firm loin complimented her turn of stifle and length of hock. Stood on tight well arched feet. Wearing her best coat and moved so well with ease. I am sure her title will not be long in coming. CC & BOB.
