My thanks to Northern Counties Dachshund Association for inviting me to judge Miniature Wires, when the original judge was unable to make the trip due to Covid restrictions. Although the entry was numerically small there was quality throughout & I enjoyed my day judging your lovely hounds.

Quality d/br boy, looking really well for his 9yrs. Presents an excellent outline & is pleasing to go over. Masculine head, good neck & topline, well filled front & good ribbing.Moved out smartly using his well muscled quarters to drive around the ring. Good texture to coat. Best Veteran & later Best Veteran in Show , Well done.

2 Corner. Holrik Mister Mischief

This br lad is looking great for his 12 yrs, pleasing in overall shape with well filled front, good depth to rib, moved well for his age & has a happy temperament, enjoying his day.

Most promising br of 8 mths, of a pleasing make & shape, loved his masculine head, dark eye & expression, good angulation both fore & aft, has a well filled front, ribs are well sprung & go well back, moved out soundly with good forward reach & drive, has good coat & furnishings. Pleased to award him Best Puppy.

Super br youngster of 16 mths with immediate appeal, so well put together, loved his houndy head, reachy neck & firm topline, has chunky bone & well bunched feet, presents a lovely outline with correct angulation, has good forechest & is well ribbed back, strong well made quarters, is in excellent jacket, strode out confidently with good head carriage, moved with freedom & drive, pleased to award him Res CC.

Lots to like about this smart d/br, lovely for size & type, is well constructed all through, has a lovely head & expression, neat front, good deep ribbing, well angulated rear with nice short hocks, strode out well in profile & was neat away & back.

Quality b/t with clean cut outline, is well balanced fore & aft with well filled front, good shoulders, well ribbed back & well angulated rear, has a houndy head & reachy neck, moved out freely & soundly keeping a good topline, harsh jacket.

2 Pain. Ravensbeech Buccleugh

Handsome br with lovely head & expression which I preferred to 1, pleasing overall shape with good bone & neat feet, well filled front, good ribbing & quarters, moved out smartly & soundly, in lovely coat & condition, close decision between 1& 2 just preferred the cleaner neck of 1 today, liked him a lot.

Super quality br of lovely size & type, he is very masculine in outlook & well balanced throughout, loved his houndy head, dark eye & pleasing expression, has good reach of neck into well laid shoulders with good return of upperarm, ribs are well sprung & fo well back to short loin, well made quarters with short hocks, movement is sound away & back, with good stride in profile, well presented in good jacket, pleased to award him the CC.

Another smart brindle, liked his make & shape, pleasing to go over, he is neat & well constructed throughout, masculine head, good width & length to ribbing, short loin, moved out soundly with good drive from his strong well made quarters, close up just preferred the head & expression of 1, has a good harsh jacket & was well presented.

Delightful 9mth red/br baby, very feminine & elegant in outlook, lovely for size & type.Pleasing head & expression, carried on reachy neck, neat well filled front, lengthy ribbing, good topline & quarters. A little overawed at first but soon settled to show her free & easy movement. Good bone & neat feet, lovely jacket & furnishings.

1 Gilroy. Russteck Take A Chance On Me Cum Claychalk

Small d/br of 15 mths, has an attractive head & dark eye, well filled forechest & good depth to ribbing. Liked her harsh jacket & furnishings. Not settled on the move wanting to rush, when taken at a steadier pace was much better , neat coming on, more ring craft required.

This immaculately presented red is the litter sister to Yearling dog & like him is soundly constructed.Pretty feminine head with dark eye, good neck & front assembly, well filled forechest, good bone , neat feet, well sprung ribbing, moved out smartly keeping good topline, lovely coat & condition.

Well made br of pleasing make & shape, lovely head & expression, good neck & topline, well sprung ribbing & nicely angulated quarters, moved out freely with good drive from her rear, just preferred the front movement of 1 today, has good texture to coat & a lovely temperament.

Small & neat d/br, attractive head with good furnishings & pleasing expression, is nicely put together, has balanced angulation fore & aft plus good depth to ribbing, has a coat of good harsh texture, moved out smartly keeping a good topline, would ideally like to see a little more ground clearance.

Lovely 3yr br with fabulous temperament, really well put together & pleasing to go over. Most attractive head & furnishings, well made shapely body with well filled forechest & excellent ribbing, pleases in both top & underline, well bunched feet,well made rear, moved soundly & freely.Has excellent texture to coat, close up just preferred the head carriage & style of 1 today. Pleased to award her the Res CC.
