I would like to commence by critique by stating that the overall quality of this breed it is a real credit to the breeders of Pugs and that I found all the exhibits to be in a healthy condition and sound temperaments.. A big thank you to Paignton Committee for giving me this opportunity, and to my stewards who were friendly and efficient in carrying out their duties.

MPD (4 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: HUNT, Mr J E Carpaccio Jack Frost excellent conformation, very masculine head with expressive dark eyes, short coupled with level topline, high tail set with good curl, confident when on the move

2nd: MAKEPEACE, Mrs S A Sandigara Simply The Best excellent pigment, good expression, head coming on nicely for age, well balanced, stood four square, moved and showed well.

Beautiful male puppies these 4 could change places on another day

1st: WHILE, Ms C Roxmarr Evening All What a little cracker he is, fits the standard so well. Good pigment, dark eyes, small ears and square muzzle, short coupled cobby body, excellent bone, level topline, super tail set and curl, his soft fine coat fitted him like a glove, never stopped showing, did everything his handler asked of him. A joy to watch as he moved around the ring. Pleased to award him Best Puppy In Breed. I was delighted to see him go Toy Puppy Group 4

2nd: BYRNE, Miss C Milucksin Morgan very expressive head with wrinkles developing nicely, dark eye, short back with high set curl, moved correctly both ways, responded to his handler well. With all his attributes should have a very bright future

2nd: URWIN, Mrs W & URWIN, Mr J Aneeva Mr Brightside A very typical attractive dog of correct size; sound and cobby, high set tail and good reach of neck. Typical head and expression. Showed and moved well

2nd: LIFFEN, Mrs S Ragemma Ring Master Beautifully presented and in excellent condition. Most expressive, well wrinkled head, good width of muzzle, dark eyes and well placed nose. Moved really well.

3rd: WEBB, Mrs G Twirlytops Train Spotter

1st: MAKEPEACE, Mrs S A Sandigara Second Thoughts Strong and handsome, short backed, with high tail set. He has an excellent, expressive head with neat button ears and lovely eyes. Very well-muscled, he moved and showed well

1st: TURNBULL, Mrs N Nicobri Love Me Tender JW Lovely large round head with black pigmentation and eyes, giving him the most delightful expression. Nice neck, good front assembly ,with good legs and feet. Short back, high set tail and good turn of stifle. On his toes the whole time

2nd: BYRNE, Miss C Movalian Dont Let Me Down At Milucksin Lovely head and pigmentation; another with that wicked expression, that for me makes the pug. Arched neck. Great angulation both ends. Moves really well

1st: COULTER, Mrs J & COULTER, Mr R BLACOBBY COLLIER LAD Oozing with personality, a lovely black male with a wonderful coat; square and cobby and full of breed type. Excellent head and expression, held his topline while moving and never stopped showing. 

2nd: PRICHARD, Mrs J Snugglepug Black Milano At Violotta A good honest black male, nicely made with plenty of expression in his head, moved well.

1st: MAKEPEACE, Mrs S A Sandigara Superman :Cobby fawn, standing four square. Pretty head, with dark bright eyes and neat ears. Straight well boned legs, short level back with deep well ribbed body. Moved out well

2nd: URWIN, Mrs W & URWIN, Mr J Sunlea Ledgend Of The Sword For Aneeva JW :Small fawn with nice head and sweet face. Short back and good high set tail. Straight front and level topline. Moved and showed well

3rd: COWIE, Miss M Sunlea Cast A Spell Over Megipugi

OD (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: FARNWORTH, Mrs S Taftazini Nepalensis Jw :Correct sized male with super breed characteristics; maintaining his outline at all times, this clear male captivated me both standing and on the move; excellent head properties with well-defined wrinkle, large dark expressive eyes, neat wide muzzle and open nostrils; really good crest of neck leading to very short level topline with high set double twist, producing a classic outline; good chest and rear quarters, excellent ribcage and bone for his size which resulted in the cobby dog of substance that I was looking for; soft fine coat, in lovely condition; looked good from every angle and moved with drive. 2nd: WHILE, Ms C Roxmarr Napoleon JW beautifully balanced male in excellent coat and condition; excellent head properties with large dark expressive eyes, wide muzzle, well wrinkled on broad skull; well placed ears; nice crest of neck, short level topline and high set tight twist together with correct length of leg producing a classic outline; very short fine coat of clear colour and texture with contrasting pigment on button ears and mask;; looked a picture .and moved soundly. 1st: LIFFEN, Mrs S Bradstock Asphodel . Good looking dog, in excellent body condition; strong in limbs and with level topline. Most attractive, well pigmented head with plenty of work, good eyes, well placed nose. Moved very soundly. Did not stay to compete for Best Veteran in Breed

2nd: WILLIS, Mrs R & MITCHELL, Mrs Y Let me be the one of rosewitch , another good looking cobby dog with an excellent head but not quite the sparkle today of class winner

MPB (7 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: PHELPS, Ms C Bilohka Victory Roll Compact, well bodied with firm topline & high tail set. Head feminine, with ample work, large dark eye, muzzle well cushioned, wide open nostrils & strong jaw. Makes a lovely picture standing & on the go around. I’m sure she will enjoy a great show career.

2nd: CROTHERS, Ms L Hazempugs miss lucy Feminine all through. Super head, full of expression, wide open nostrils, dark pigment. Well bodied & sound movement another who should have a bright future.

3rd: URWIN, Mrs W & URWIN, Mr J Roxmarr China Girl At Aneeva

1st: 4257 BRIDDON, miss S & FISHER, MR R SAMLYNRYE DIXIE CHICK AT BRIDDISH Cobby female with correctly proportioned head dark round eyes, correct amount of wrinkle, good pigmentation with wide open nostrils, dark round eyes, good jaw, good forequarters and spring of ribs, level topline, coat of good texture, correct tail set moved correctly

1st: ELLIS, Miss A Eastonite Zara A well bodied with a good deep ribcage, beautiful large well wrinkled head, dark expressive eyes, short soft muzzle and well defined clear nostrils. She stood and moved with confidence. A real showgirl who obviously enjoys the day. Pushed hard for top honours.

2nd: WATSON, Mrs C Madjax Uncanny Very alert, showed really well, head in good proportion to body, muzzle relatively short, good open nostrils with good pigmentation, neat button ears, straight front and well sloped shoulders,good spring of ribs, level topline, moved with drive

3rd: URWIN, Mrs W & URWIN, Mr J Aneeva Miss Atomic Bomb

YB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st EDDERY, Mr E Surpise Gift Ragemma Lovely square and cobby, real showgirl, did not stop showing all the time she was in the ring, relatively large, well proportioned round head, correct black mask with dark round eyes, button ears, lovely arched crest into well sloped shoulders, very strong straight forequarters with good spring of rib, broad chest, very strong hindquarters with good turn of stifle, high set tail tightly curled over hip, coat short and glossy, level topline and moved with drive. Pushed hard for top honours.

2nd: RUTHERFORD, Miss H & RUTHERFORD, Mrs C Potbelli Keep On Dreaming Female of ideal size, lovely expression and appealing outline. She has a close fitting coat of eye catching colour and texture, a well wrinkled head with nicely placed ears, well boned front, nice shoulders and straight topline finished off with a high set tail. Stood and showed really well.

I’m sure her title is not far away. BCC

1st: PHELPS, Ms C Bilohka Bang Tidy JW Caught my eye on my first look round the ring, lovely substance but retaining femininity; level back and good neck together with a high set twist; soft fine gleaming black coat of excellent colour and texture; straight front and positive movement; good sized head with ropes of wrinkles, button ears, large dark eyes, lovely width of muzzle and good cushioning producing a soft expression; good strong bone; lovely chest and ribcage; good rear angulation; moved well.

2nd:ELLIS, Miss A Eastonite Sauce Sue Lovely size and shape; attractive head with well defined wrinkle, large expressive dark eyes, button ears, good width of jaw; feminine expression; nicely crested neck leading to short level topline and well set twist; good ribcage and bone for size; short fine soft coat of correct texture; well balanced; moved well.

1st: PRICHARD, Mrs J Snugglepug Like It Sweet At Violotta , Good looking female, in excellent body condition lovely head and expression, eyes dark, neat ears, short and cobby body, lovely driving movement, full of character. Best Veteran In Breed
