Llynfi Valley Canine Society

My thanks to the society for inviting me to judge this lovely show and to the exhibitors who came along on a very stormy day, I know many had problems with flood water and hazardous driving conditions. I was such a pleasure to find so many high quality puppies who will surely have a very bright future and made for some tough decisions.

Border Collie G (1,0)

1. Carter’s Cartezz Paloma young bitch of typical make and shape, very alert and well balanced, liked her size and proportions, held a firm topline moving and showed typical border gait, sound in all directions and promises well for the future BOB

Border Collie O (2,1)

1. Carter’s Cartezz Its About That Time male in excellent body and coat condition, liked his head and eye, nice neck, well boned, good in proportions, moved steadily but not the fluidity of the bitch

German Shepherd Dog G (3,1)

1. Swift, Hensley & Wardle Monksley Faye Savannah at Alrewas, I was reluctant to accept these classes as this is a breed I award CCs to but I was glad I did to get my hands on this young lady! At this moment there is nothing I would alter. For seven months she was self assured, calm and sound all through. Medium size and slightly stretched b/t, she has a balanced head and lovely ears, correct neck and forehand, firm back, correct croup, excellent rear, over and underlines are good, excellent length and carriage of tail, scopey gait and firm walking away BOB, BP, G3, PG2 she should have a big future.

2. Novak Armani von haus Turos b/g male of medium size and good substance, masculine all through, super head, ears and expression, good size, strength and balance, firm overline with correct croup and length of tail, soundly made but needs some training to gait at his best.

O (2,1)

1. Wardle’s Alrewas Amie a bitch I have judged before and she appeals for her good honest shepherd type, nothing overdone here, she is sound, balanced, proportionate and feminine with correct angles and presents a lovely outline plus she’s as sound as they come, not in coat and not quite the sheer class of her housemate but a lovely bitch.

Norwegian Buhund L (2,0)

Thank you for the super support from the breed today it was an absolute pleasure for me.

1. Lambert’s Sturtmoor’s Free’n Eeze a very classy young wheaten bitch, full of spitz breed type, lightly built and agile on the move, she presents a lovely outline, ears up and today tail up too, lovely wedge head, eyes and ears well set and mobile, good neck and front, square with firm topline and very sound out and back, BOB,BP,G4, PG3

2. Owen’s Sturtmoor Danfanfango nice wheaten boy, alert and light on his feet, sturdy with plenty of type, in good body and coat, moved smartly.

O (4,1)

A class packed full of quality

1. Lambert & Owens Ch Bernegarden’s Reve Enka av Sturtmoor (Imp Nor) very smart wheaten, full of quality, alert with an excellent body, lovely wedge head with good eyes and ears, correct neck, front and chest, solid but light, firm in body, moves out well holding a level topline, nice curl to tail and in super condition

2. Lambert’s Ch Svartkonge av Sturtmoor (imp Nor) evergreen black mail but is the real soldier dog, ears up, tail up, on his toes and full of it. Smaller build but everything in proportion and such a sound and light easy gait, really enjoying his day out.

3. Lambert’s Sturtmoor’s Eezee Luva in her bikini today, mother of the BOB who I have placed highly before and she still delights, super to see her as she doesn’t always enjoy the show ring.

Smooth Collie PG (2,1)

1. Martin & Howard shandlmain Blu Chief

b/m of lovely type, quite an upstanding dog but not coarse is anyway retains that certain collie elegance, lovely flat skull with good planes and tapering muzzle, ears ok and well used, good neck and front, clean shoulders with good proprotions, firm body, well built hindquarters, correct set and length of tail, moved very well BOB, BP

Shetland sheepdog Gr (1,0)

1. Haenseal’s Philhope Summer Highlights at Sherkal

What a delight! Just loved this youngster so full of breed type but with decent bone and substance losing no femininity at all, clear s/w with beautiful head, exquisite ears so well used, perfect eye placement and shape, good flight skull with correct planes and the sweetest expression. Shapely, well bodied and well angulated, super mover, the complete package for her age BP, BPB, G2, PG 1 & BPIS well done!

Open (1,2)

1. Haensel’s Sherkarl Copper Highlights

Another super s/w from this kennel and one I have placed highly before, again excels in type for me, correct Sheltie expression, size and balance, couldn’t match the accurate movement of the puppy today, but full of grace and quality

Rough Collie Gr (3,1)

1. Philip’s Serenlas Inca’s Gold

S/w bitch of nice make and shape with a good head, correct planes and tapering muzzle with well placed eye and ears, well made through out, balanced with good angulation, well coated and presented and strode out well. BP

2. Corben’s Caprioara Apollo Pride another well balanced and well made collie, needs a little more confidence to get the best from him, excellent bone and substance whilst still retaining that Collie elegance and shapeliness, super coat coming, moved well.

Open (2.1)

1. Corben’s Capriora Black Secret

Nice tri bitch who appealed for overall type, good skull and muzzle with slight stop and well placed eye, ears well set but not too keen to use them, old fashioned type but extremely sound, needs a little more ring confidence to get the best from her BOB.

Welsh Corgi (Cardigan) (1,0)

Clashing with a club show today but the 1 Cardi here more than made up for that!

1.Williams & James Ch Bwthyn Headliner JW ShCM SHCEX

One I have judged a few times before and he certainly improves with age. Typical foxy shaped head with large erect ears, dark eyes, moderate stop. Neck well-muscled & good fore-chest with good lay back of shoulder & depth of chest, front well moulded well sprung rib & strong loin, well angulated hind quarters showed a clean set of pads when driving, really steady and workmanlike male BOB, G1.

Pembroke Corgis (3,2)

1. Williams Twinan Dipped in chocolate at Trebettyn

S/w with god proportions, long and low but clearing ground easily, very nice head and ears, well used, strong neck and firm topline, ribs well sprung, could lose a little weight to advantage, well angled and strong hocks, sound mover holding her topline BOB

Samoyed PG (1,0)

1. Leader & Wright Angelicus Romantica

In super condition for age, good wedge head, excellent pigment, well furred ears, strong neck and compact body with good bone and flat and well padded feet, ribs well sprung with excellent heart room, tail well set on, super mover BV and BVIS, well done.

O (1,0)

1. Leader & Wright Angelicus Que Sera Sera at Bjelkier ShCM

Very nice for type, typical smiling Sammy expression, super dark pigment and well shaped head, well bodied, in full bloom, compact, holding a firm topline, well feathered and very sound on the move BOB.

AVNSC Pastoral (5,1)

Two very good quality classes.

1. Jones Welshmoor Hell of a boy (heeler) destined for a bright future, excellent shaped head, dark almond eye giving a naughty expression. Ears well set and used. Strong firm body of correct proportions. Very well balanced all through and brisk on the move.

2. Thomas Mournebrake Bad Biscuit have given him a BP before in breed competition, just at that inbetween teenage stage now but cords coming nicely and as light and easy on the move as ever, will watch him with interest.

3. Williams Rycamrhia Briann in Tinland, again judged her in AV and breed competition and she is maturing very nicely.

Open (4,1)

1. Jones Welshmoor Hellfire couldn’t resist this litter sister to winner of last class, these are two quality dogs and I will be surprised if they don’t gain their titles. She edged him today on movement and with that Heeler attitude BAVNSC, BPAVNSC PG4
