York Canine Association

York Limit Show 22nd February 2020 

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge their limit show . Such a friendly and well run show . My stewards were very good and hospitality was excellent . To the exhibitors thank you for bringing your dogs . There were some lovely quality dogs and I was spoilt for choice in some of the classes . 

Overall I thought the presentation of the dogs and handling was of a good standard . My main winners I will critique below but I would like to mention the Bedlington Terrier and the Bracco & WH Dachshund , Leonberger . whom I liked very much . 

BIS was the Wire-Haired Dachshund owned by McPherson & Paterson , Brumberhill Mr Wilks JW Caught my eye as he entered the ring , lovely type stands true with good ground clearance and on the move he holds his topline moving on a long stride . Typy head and expression. Long muscular neck sitting well into topline . Prominent breastbone , well ribbed back , strong muscular body ,and shown in good coat. He is one of those dogs who demands attention and I was delighted to award him BIS . 

RBIS Welsh Springer Spaniel owned by Clarke & Sherlock , Crimicar She’s Electric With Tigerrock JW , what a showgirl ! Still only young but I thought her lovely . Very feminine expression with dark eyes . She is compact , strong and balanced in body very active and true on the move . Shown in good coat of correct colour and texture . 

BPIS Toy Poodle owned by Millington , Steelthorn Madam Fifi Avec Taylortowho 

What a lovely puppy , she certainly took my eye . Fine in head with chiselling starting to come . She carried herself so well and moved lightly round the ring . Well bodied with good ribs . Handled really well . 

RBPIS Great Dane owned by Barley , Hrabia Jon Dori Grinol ( Imp Pol ) 

Young dog who stood presented a lovely outline . Masculine head with good expression . He has plenty of bone . As with a large breed puppy he needs to strength up and muscle up . His movement will improve with time but lots to like . 

BVIS Alaskan Malamute owned by Kay , Kaytoo Antarctic Riki . 

One of my favourite breeds this dog was shown in lovely condition for his age . Loved his head and expression . Good bone and length of leg . Very sound on the move . Handled well .
