COVENTRY LADIES KENNEL ASSOCIATION OPEN SHOW 1ST JANUARYV 2020 

My thanks to the Committee for their hospitality ,to my Stewards who worked so hard ,& to my  

exhibitors .Exhibits were of a very high standard making  some difficult decisions in my Groups  

placing ,but I am certain that the majority of Dogs/Bitches I Judged today will attain their Crown  

this year & look forward to seeing their development 

Principle winners were

G2 SBT /B                          POWERPACK CHEROKEE JW Black feminine Bitch with a gorgeous  

expression shown in good healthy condition Coat really shone under lights A credit to her owner   

Good overall Ratio  with clean angulations & well muscled second thigh Head well developed with  

good ear carriage , dark wicked eyes & Correct dentition Strong powerful neck set onto a good lay of  

shoulder Nice barrel chest with good span of rib Moved soundly in typical ‘staffie’ style.

Nice front With reach of neck set onto shoulders Still to harden but this will come with maturity  

Movement was a little erratic but to be expected in a youngster & it was late in the day when the  

Groups were being Judged

A lovely entry of Bedlingtons All groomed to perfection . It is always a pleasure to judge this breed  

as their grooming is so immaculate’ 

P(1)1. Bannister’s  MITEYMIGETS TIEWIE  /B/    (11 months old) Well worthy of her placing  

today,Groomed to perfection & also well handled  Just coming into maturity but everything just right  

Fitted the picture from head to toe .Moved with elegance & grace around the ring Very promising &  

I am sure will be Making her mark in the show ring this year RBOB/BP 

PG(2)1. Kinns KINNUVA HAWAIIAN VELVET /B  (Sandy) Well balance with nicely shaped head good  

ear carriage dark eyed & correct dentition Nicely angulated With slight rise over loins  

Conformation & ratio to size with good angulations Sound Movement 

2. Kinns KINNUVA SUMMER PEARL/D (Bl) Timid on the table & erratic on the move Otherwise  

when I could assess her she has good confirmation to size with well defined head & correct bite 

O(3.1)1.Hewitt- Taylor’s MOLLORA RED KITE FOR TOBANIE/Sandy/D  One of the larger type but  

overall fits the picture  I didn’t like his top line which appeared too level & lacks arc over loins  

(might be the way he was being shown Handler could check this)(BOB) 

2  Kinns  KINNUVA SIAM PEARL/Bl/B Smaller but petite & feminine,Presenting a lovely picture  

with all major points Either could have changed places today but she was ‘skittish. on the move 

 

BORDER TERRIER 

I Thank my exhibitors for their good entry today .I found that although they were small in size  

some were difficult to span

conformation maturing nicely with a lovely’Quizzy’ expression In good coat but at times does ‘pull over’ on the move (BP)

nicely With dark eyes & lovely expression.Has conformation to size with nice turn of stifle Moved  

soundly around the ring

defined ‘Otter’head nice ear carriage dark eyed with a .mischievous’ expression Correct bite Neck

2 Nightingale’s.FOXFACTOR FOXTROT/Griz/B  Smaller Has good ring presence Good overall  

confirmation & movement Still needs more ring practice as was a little unsettled at times

2.Tuffin’s HARTSWELIN VERITAS WITH OATBERRY/Griz/D  Similar type,when standing appeared  

short in back but both of a good standard

1.Read’s MILTONBURY SUNRISE AT ROXAMBOR/BT/B   Couldn’t fault today Spannable/thin pelt  

shown in excellent condition with all major points Good bite & movement         (BOB) 

2. Read’s BADGERBECK CHA CHA ROXAMBOR/ Griz/B Either of these bitches 

could have changed places today Both in good condition & movement Just lacks that ‘extra’  

making her appear a little lethargic

correct dentition Conformation to size with clean angulations When standing appears a little wide  

at the front but this did not impede her movement

2.Thomas’ MONTELLE KIGHT HE WAY AT SUNNYSTONE/B Very spirited & needs to settle  but  

maturing nicely& when she calms down  I am sure will show better

masculine bearing  Fits the picture with all standard points correct including mouth & Movement

where he is masculine she shows her femininity Nothing coarse about her  Stands 4 square with  

good substance & bone Head well defined  has a good bite Nice angulations , top line & tail set 

Moved round the ring with ‘panache’ & style

elbow when standing

1.Bennett & Pickering’s  PHUNSIZE DIVA HEDDY /MBT/B    Lovely brindle true mini Well shaped  

head with arc & fill.Has ratio to size with good substance & bone Nicely developed second thigh.   

A little unsettled on the move today but it was late in the afternoon & she could be excused for  

this (BP/G3) 

2. Knapp’s KINSRIDGE CARIBBEAN QUEEN /Norf/B) Still maturing but has a lovely personality  

 

that showed the way she responded to her handler Good overall conformation to size with  

 

well defined head Good ear carriage & dark appealing eyes Nice reach of neck set onto  

 

shoulders. She is nicely angulated & maintains a good top line on the move

catching expression Has correct ratio to size & weight.Sufficient bone & substance Well  defined

Neat angulations with a nice second thigh Moved soundly around the ring 

2. Brown’s  WAFFELIN LEAP OF FAITH   /Dan/Din/D Well groomed  Head well shaped,domed   

 & a lovely ‘silky’ covering  Nicely tasselled ears & dark appealing eyes Neck  

curves gracefully into shoulders & he maintains a good top line on the move.Clean angulations  

with nice second thigh.Well balanced throughout with sound movement

!. Kanangara’s    LOGIERAIT LORETTA /RgCt/PR/B Have judged this bitch before & today she was  a  

little spirited .Previously wouldn’t settle on table but was pleased to see she is overcoming this.All  

standard points are correct & She still maintains a sound movement  

2Thornley’s  LOCHEIL STOP RIGHT THERE/JR/D Was spooked on the table which was a shame as he  

is Eye catching & typical chocolate box Beautifully turned out today All major points with sound  

movement Handler must concentrate when standing as he tends to be out at the elbow when  

relaxed

expression Neck slopes gently into  a well placed shoulder with clean angulations & turn of stifle

feminine  Coming up to ten years of age but doesn’t show it.She still maintains a good ring presence  

 

has all major points  & has sound movement 3.Keeves SEVEEK TREASURE THE DREAM/CAIRN/D  

Have judged this dog recently & was disappointed by how unsettled he was today He is an excellent  

specimen of the breed .The owner explained had been ‘spooked ‘ by a dog nearby

beautiful picture Both dog & Junior handler groomed to perfection It gave me great pleasure to  

award this dogs his winnings today & to congratulate the young lady on her excellent handling. Good  

overall picture of ratio to size with well defined head furnished with silky hair Nice ear carriage  

& those eyes Good dentition with clean alinement to front & rear with nicely developed second  

thigh Neck curves gracefully onto well laid shoulders maintains a good top line on the move &  

moved purposefully & with drive 

2.Smith & Smith J a & F  LOCHEIL TALK OF THE TOWN/JR/D (RBAVNSC)   Large dog but stands four  

square Eye catching & well balanced .When standing does appears out at the shoulders &  

movement is close on the back

specimen of the breed .The owner explained had been ‘spooked ‘ by a dog nearby

overall picture of ratio to size with well defined head furnished with silky hair Nice ear carriage  

& those eyes Good dentition with clean alinement to front & rear with nicely developed second  

thigh Neck curves gracefully onto well laid shoulders maintains a good top line on the move &  

moved purposefully & with drive
