Critique for Gundog breeds, Gundog Adult and Puppy Groups
My thanks to the hard working committee for the invitation to judge at thisvery busy Premier Open Show. Thanks also to my stewards Martin and Richard and to the sporting exhibitors who had entered; it was a long day for some. There had obviously been a bitch in season in the ring at some time and this did affect some of the dogs which in turn affected placings in some later classes where movement was erratic.
Pointer Post Graduate (3, 1ab):
1.& BOB Oliver's Olivesong Kiss Chase, soundly constucted black and white bitch of pleasing type overall. Stands on good limbs with tight feet. Very well conditioned and moving with energy and purpose. 2.Cooper's Trosnant Made in Heaven BP, very much a baby with some developing to do to complete the picture but showing well and benefitting from sympathetic handling.
Pointer Open (3,2ab):
1.Oliver's Asterope Lightning Star via Teisgol JW ShCM, mature and well conditioned bitch of good overall type; plenty of body, well boned and standing on good legs and feet; could not match her daughter on the move today.
Flat Coated Retriever Post Graduate (4,1ab):
1.Protheroe's Manteauplat Tom Putt, pleasing type shown in good coat and condition; well boned limbs and moving with drive. 2.Simon's Coedylan Martini Night, smaller and finer though balanced in profile, moved quite well. 3. Milner's Parkcariad King of the Ocean(AT2)

Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla Open(1ab)
English Setter Post Graduate (1) Brown's Mariglen Night Manager at Yendorlech, such a shame this dog was not keen to be handled as he caught my eye on entering the ring. Good looking example of the breed who, I am sure, could do very well on another day. I'm sure his owner will persevere with him.

Lewis Belton Pearl's a Kind of Magic (Imp Deu) (Au2) finer in bone and body; very dark full coat; not the condition of 1 and would benefit from more muscle.
