I would like to thank all the committee & exhibitors who braved the weather & who made us very welcome in Ireland, even storm Dennis wasn’t going to spoil our day. Lovely venue with super big rings.  

Bulldog 

Special Yearling 

1st McKeown; King Richard; Masculine young boy just out of puppy, with fairly large broad head, dark eyes & large open nostrils & close fitting lips, with good strong under jaw, muscular neck & good width of chest, firm body & well boned legs, back short with slight rise to loin, well-muscled hindquarter, steady quick stepping movement.  

Open 

1st McKeown; King Richard; winner of previous class & just preferred his overall steadier movement. BOB 

2nd Page’s; Harlewood Look Whos Here Rilex Jun Ch; steady mover, just preferred 1st more open face & overall shape & movement. 

Chow Chow 

Special Yearling 

Litter sisters & just 9 months, both so similar I had a job splitting them. 

1st Campbell’s; Kuanyin Here Comes The Girl; Smooth coated black, with fabulous pigmentation of nose, lips & tongue, neat thick ears, muscular neck on well-placed shoulders, chest deep with good spring of rib, enough bone at this age & lovely tight feet, well-muscled hindquarters that showed in her steady move. 

2nd Campbell’s; Kuanyin She’s A Rumin; Very similar to sister but just not as settled on move as 1st.  

Open 

1st Campbell’s; Kuanyin Junzi; Litter brother to Sp Yearling. Impressive male in a lovely black coat, masculine broad head with enough stop to give a lovely proud expression, dark eyes & beautiful matching pigment throughout. Muscular neck set well into shoulders, chest broad & deep, legs parallel down to tight feet. Body short & firm over loin, well muscled hindquarters with hocks firm & well let down. Lovely tight tail carried over back. Lovely free flowing movement.    BOB & BP. In both groups felt he really stood out & a worthy winner of both adult & puppy groups.  

2nd Campbell’s; Sitze- Gous Amazing Grace At Kuanyin Jun Ch; Dam of the three youngsters, same lovely smooth black coat & obviously passed on her lovely attributes to them, but just in this class, her son had the better movement. 

Dalmatian 

Open 

1st Kennedy’s; Domdallino Dazzelling Doll; 5 year old feminine bitch with good breadth of skull, defined stop & dark eyes, good length of neck on well-placed shoulders & well sprung ribs & depth of chest. Legs parallel when viewed front & rear. Good rear angulation allowed steady ground covering moved. Coat had nice even spotting BOB & Grp 2 

2nd Webster’s; Int/Ir Ch Tamilanda Pink Addition To Dalmarno Jun Vet Ch; 9 year old bitch, very feminine with lovely soft expression, defined stop & dark eyes. Muscular neck & well-placed shoulders & good spring of rib, firm back & nice rear angulations, just didn’t settle on move. More settled in a later class.

1st Llyod’s; Montrabella Christopher; 8 month old male, just beginning to get all his head furnishings, nice dark eyes & good pigmentation, lovely reverse scissor bite, neck of good length, shoulders in correct place for age, firm top-line, & enough rear angulation to allow free movement, beautifully presented BP & Puppy Grp 4 

Open 

1st Lloyd’s; Owenavera Wild Desire; 3 year old bitch in full coat. Feminine head well furnished, dark eyes & good pigmentation, moderate stop & correct reverse scissor bite, ears well placed & plenty of furnishings, Medium length of neck & good lay back of shoulder with ribs well sprung of good length, firm loin & well-muscled hindquarters, well-padded round feet, allowed free movement. Beautifully presented. BOB & Group 3

1st Higgin’s & Rimmer; Gemmiawillow Love Singer Jun Ch; Long fine head with moderate stop, good foreface well chiselled, tight well pigmented lips, almond eyes, ears close to face, neck strong & proud on well placed shoulders, good depth of chest & well sprung ribs, strong over back & muscular loin with well-developed second thigh, good bend of stifle & hocks well let down. Very easy mover with light ground covering movement. Beautifully presented coat. BOB & Group 4 

2nd Coulter’s; Micador Circle of Fire; just 9 months old & shame only an open class today. Long & finely chiselled head with dark almond eyes, ears lying close to face, proud neck on well placed shoulders, nice body developing with well muscled hindquarters & good rear angulations, hocks firm, neat tight feet, in good coat beautifully presented. BP & Puppy Group 2 

Tibetan Terrier 

Special Yearling 

1st Andrew-Tempest’s; Mikudi Cleopatra; Feminine young bitch of 11 months developing well. Lovely head with dark eyes & well-placed ears, furnishings coming. Neck of good length & well-placed shoulders, firm compact body & fairly high set tail carried well over her back, nicely angulated hindquarters allowed steady movement. BP & Puppy Grp 3 

Open 

1st Andrew-Tempest’s; Qanda Lhi’s U-Bzanda At Mikudi (Imp ITA) Feminine head defined stop, dark eyes, lovely dark pigmentation, well placed ears covered in plenty of feathering, muscular neck on well-placed shoulders with muscular compact body of good depth. Fairly high set tail which had plenty of hair & carried over back, muscular hindquarters allowed free movement, presented in beautiful condition. Felt she had good breed type. BOB

1st Nesbitt’s; Maygmi’s Magic Moments Of Detlen Paws; Lovely wedge shaped head with neat triangular ears, high set. Dark eyes with well pigmented rims, nose & lips. Neck of moderate length & well-placed shoulders, firm back with well angulated hindquarters, coat harsh & standing off body. Positive on move BOB

1st Coulter’s; Sonarus Riverdance; Miniature Poodle; Elegant head finely chiselled with good foreface & moderate stop, dark eyes, ear leathers long & fitting close to face, neck of good length fitting into well placed shoulders, chest deep with ribs well sprung, moderate tuck up to firm loin & well developed hindquarters, feet neat, well presented in good coat.

Really lovely group, but for me the Chow Chow just stood out, although only a puppy he just commanded the ring for his lovely breed type & sound movement.

2nd Murphy’s; Foxy Roxy Is Back With Beandrews; 11 month old with pleasing head developing, fairly broad skull, good strong muzzle, well arched neck with good lay of shoulder & depth of chest, firm top-line with good rear angulation with lovely muscle-tone BP & PG 3

1st Richardson’s; Dobenar Windsurfer For Scetoni; 10 month old male, masculine, alert & well-muscled throughout. Elegant elongated head, slight stop, dark almond shaped eyes well filled underneath, neat ears, correct bite, fairly long neck going into well placed shoulders, with good fore-chest & depth to chest, well sprung ribs & firm top line with good rear angulations & well bent stifle, parallel when viewed front & rear, well arched feet. Balanced on move with good rear drive, BOB, BP & RBPIS

1st Whan’s; Sulandi Celtic Of Barbaart; 10 month old male, broad head with well-placed ears. Dark eyes & broad muzzle with well-defined stop, muscular neck & shoulders well laid back, ribs well sprung & strong loin, well-muscled hindquarters. Steady movement, only thing that spoilt him was a coat that I felt would benefit from a bath. BOB & BP

1st Stewart’s; Ferncliffe Ballerina At Moymuklemury Jun Ch; Feminine head with flat forehead, well developed cheeks, nice muzzle, which showed her lovely whiskers & moustache, neat well set ears. Strong neck on flat well laid back shoulders, chest broad & deep, strong back well developed loin, well-muscled hind-quarters, harsh coat coming, balanced fore & aft, allowing effortless movement.

Steady movement with slight roll on move. BOB

1st Brown’s; Cotarinn Snooze You Lose; Shame this youngster was nervous & really didn’t want to be gone over. 22 months old dog, broad head & neck of good length, body firm & nice rear angulations, moved ok.

2nd Donaldson’s Ch, Ir Ch, Int Ch, Lux Ch Blevwil Come And Get Me Cherdon ShCM Jun Ch Anch13, CJW14; Basset Fauve De Bretagne; 7.5 years & really flashy mover. Balanced & did push 1st hard, Lovely in profile.

Moved with drive & in challenge felt she had the better front & topline to Open winner. Lovely mottled coat with rich tan points. BOB & Group 4

Hound Puppy Group 

1st Reid, Black & McMaster’s; Way Up Whymper Zilbec Seaponds; Afghan; My notes say wow, just felt this youngster was so beautifully balanced.  Still very young but head developing, elegant neck on long sloping shoulders, back of good length with moderate spring rib, nicely angulated hindquarters with good length from hip to hock, tail set low with ring at end, on move he was elegant & had lovely smooth action. In BPIS ring that was even larger than group he just floated round & was an easy winner for me.

1st Lismore’s; Vanilla Z Jasne Over Syingcrest (Imp CZR) Chinese Crested; Nice cobby little dog, elongated head dark pigmentation & plenty of hair on crown, ears & profuse main, muscular neck & clean body, long slender legs with furnishings, well-muscled throughout, elegant flowing movement.  

2nd Thompson’s; Downsbank Sprite Dancer; KCCS; nice shape & once settled moved better, just not quite as confident as 1st. 

Toy Group 

Lovely group & had a real job splitting 1st & 2nd as both excellent for breed type. 

1st Cooper’s; Ir Ch Alchinettas Gorgeous Kin; Japanese Chin; Very eye catching little dog who never stopped showing. Lovely rounded skull with nice open face & nostrils, large dark expressive eyes, small ears fairly wide apart well feathered, neck moderate length on compact little body & good width of chest for size, legs straight when viewed from & rear, nicely bent stifle & neat slender feet, tail carried over back with plenty of feathering, presented in beautiful coat that completed the picture, real little show off. In BIS he really showed himself off. RBIS  

2nd O’Shaughnessy’s; Chantismere Castaway To Michazelwood ShCm; Cavalier King Charles Spaniel; standard says graceful & he was, broad almost flat skull, long high set ears, with large dark eyes & lovely broad muzzle, moderate neck & well placed shoulders with chest reaching elbows & good fore chest with well sprung ribs firm loin & well-muscled hindquarters & well bent stifle, in lovely condition which showed when he moved. A very happy little dog tail never stopped.

BIS: Seven super dogs all worthy of the top spot but I felt that the Cocker Spaniel just had that little bit extra. Moved round the ring with real showmanship, he had lovely breed type & beautifully presented nothing over exaggerated.
