Judge’s critique

Greenland Dogs

Thank you to the Society for the invitation – always an honour.

As a minority breed with only a small number of dogs shown I was very pleased with my quality entry for my first Greenland appointment. Temperaments were superb (handlers and dogs!)

Puppy (0) no entries

Junior D/B (2). These two clearly showed the ‘marked difference’ in size required by the standard.

1. Blaney’s Suna-sanik’s Freidge Av Fenrirkin (imp Nor). Lovely 16 mo bitch, very feminine with pretty (correct) head, good eyes, and super expression. Strong neck and really nice angulation front and rear and good muscle tone. Strong bone and correct feet. At this point, much more ‘together’ than her kennel mate. Good depth of chest, strong in body and loin. Quality double coat. Very sound on the move - she was straight coming and going and has lovely side gait with drive and good foot placement. RBOB.

2. Blaney’s Suna-sanik’s Electric Noah of Fenrirkin (imp Nor). 16 mo male. Impressive in size, with good height and correct strong bone and feet. Very much the ‘teenager’ at the moment, needing to broaden and drop into himself as he matures, to show off his proportions to best advantage, but a really lovely boy. The best head of the day, good flat skull and correct proportions, lovely expression. Super weatherproof coat so well presented. On the move he is very sound with good drive. Look forward to seeing him when fully adult.

Post Graduate D/B (1,1)

Open D/B (2,1)

1. Blaney’s Multi Ch Sledog Brutte Coffea Del Fenrirkin. This lovely 4 yo male has it all together. Of good size with super proportions and balance. Good head and strong neck leading to lovely shoulder placement and front and rear angulation well balanced. Sufficient bone, good depth of chest, strong body and loin, with superb muscle throughout. In super coat of correct texture. Moved with freedom and very sound. My overall impression was of an athletic dog with both power and personality. BOB.
