THE POMERANAIN CLUB OPEN SHOW
26/01/2020
I would like to thank the committee for asking me to judge this club open show, it is a huge honour. I would like to also thank my steward on the Day, Dave Strange for a smooth day within the ring.
On the whole I enjoyed going over the dogs with some lovely examples of our beloved breed, a few surprises but overall I was pleased with the mouths, fontanelle and coat of most dogs.
DOGS
Class 1, Minor puppy dog, 5 (2A)
1st No.38, SPARROW R&B Messer’s, GOLDBOURNE NIGHT MUSIC;
At just 6months old this good example of a compact black entire male came into the ring. He was a little unsure in the ring to start but once he got into his stride he really enjoyed it sometimes a little too much in true pom fashion. He had a correct medium sized oval eye which even though it’s harder to see on the blacks you could see the intelligence shining through. He had a correct stop and his head was in proportion. His bite was good for a puppy and had relatively small ears which were carried erect. His coat was coming along for a pup his age and I liked his tail set. He was short coupled and had small cat like feet. On the move he was a typical pup, moving, playing and jumping when he wanted but when he did move it really came through he was free moving and quite buoyant and when he did stand for his handler he stood four square. I was pleased to give him first place, Best puppy dog and Best Puppy in Show.
2nd No.14 GOOCH Mr L & Mrs N, TA BOZI’s HIPPE ARE BACK IN FASHION AT CASSIBAWN;
8 month old entire orange male. Another good example with lots to like. A very sweet and attentive boy who stood really well on the table. A good head with a good stop and correctly proportioned head and had good pigment. Ears were small and erect and he had a good bite. Very intelligent eyes which were always fixed on his handler. Again his coat is coming in correctly , he had a correct tail set with a plume starting to come. He was short coupled and compact in shape with small cat like feet which were trimmed very well. He moved well for a puppy but I preferred 1’s movement on the day. One I will be watching.
