Maidenhead & District Canine Society

Parson Russell Terriers:

My sincere thanks to the Society’s Committee for inviting me to judge the Parson Russell Terrier classes at Maidenhead & District Canine Society’s open show on the 15th February. The foul weather threatened by ‘Storm Dennis’ reduced the number of exhibits in the Breed, which was a pity. Thanks also to my Steward for the day (Graham) for his support, and to the exhibitors that braved the elements for their entry. Overall, coat and body condition of the exhibits present were good. Heads and bites were excellent. The decision between BoB and RBoB came down to the movement and drive, the P/Grad winner just putting in that little extra on the day.

P (4/2) 1 Hughes Riplington Dream Weaver 10-month B who settled down quicker showing a good movement covering the ground with purposeful strides. Lovely feminine head, good scissor bite. Well balanced overall, nothing exaggerated presenting a pleasing outline. In the challenge was up against two very good Adults. BPiB

2 Williams Alncroft Anabelle Kasaque 8-month B enjoying her day out in the ring. Nice expression good bite. Slightly bigger than (1), yet spannable. When this bitch settled on the table presented a nice outline. Would like more muscle in the rear to give the drive I would expect from this breed.

J (1) 1st Williams Alncroft Anabelle Kasaque

PG (3/2) 1 Harcourt-Morris Kylini Primadiva for Lenacourt 4-year B standing alone, putting in a good performance regardless. Started ‘showing’ as soon as she entered the ring. Small and compact bitch with excellent muscle tone, movement true both crossing and fore and aft. Harsh coat and a head that just demanded attention. Happy to award BoB.

O (3/2) 1 Nixon Gonetoground Summer Breeze 3-year B. Presenting a lovely outline, good depth of chest, easily spanned. In good coat. Correct ‘wedge’ head, dark eye giving a good expression, correct bite. Moved with determination, covering the ground in measured strides. Being critical; slightly close rear movement in the challenge. RBoB
