Premier Open Show

Many thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge BIS at this very large Premier Open Show. There can not many shows with 1300 dogs. Despite a very large panel of judges the show still ran very smoothly and everyone seemed to be having a relaxed day out. Well done to you all. 

I had a lovely line up for BIS and 5 or the 7 were more than worthy and of similar very high quality. Quite simply I just left it to the dogs to perform and two of them made my job easy by standing out and just giving that little bit extra.

Good proportions and balance. Lovely head and expression. Well constructed, good topline and moved well once he settled. Still very raw but promising. BP

B/t just 6 months and promising . Good front and rear and topline. Very well schooled on the move for age. Good tail, bone and ribbing

1st KEYCAV ARTHUR MILLER

8 month Blenheim lovely body shape and proportions. Good neck, topline, depth and ribs. Good tail set and carriage moved steady and well. Head still developing. 

2nd JOLAINEY MAGICAL TED AT KEYCAV

A shade heavy in cheeks but has a nice eye shape. Enough neck, could be more compact, topline ok and ribs nicely sprung.

1st KEYCAV ANNABEL ROSE

Ruby bitch, very moderate and balanced. Nice clean outline. Feminine all through but with good ribs and a strong loin. Feminine head. Good neck and exc topline RBOB

2nd LORANKA’S EDGE OF THE STARS

Nice shape and proportions but was just a shade masculine in head and expression. Moved well in profile keeping good outline with good tail set and carriage. 

3rd NARAYDEN MYSTERY GIRL

Limit

1st PAUROI TOP MAN HAS AT KELLORIAN

Masculine but still elegant. Good proportions and outline. Flows from his neck to tail is presented in fit condition and has lovely carriage and honest sound movement. Attractive head but could maybe have a more shallow stop. BOB

2nd NARAYDEN MISS EMILY 

Nice for bone, feet and is feminine. Good topline and is a steady mover. Muzzle could blend cleaner into skull with more fill under the eye

1st NARAYDEN BIANCA

Nice body shape and is an easy mover with good tailset. Would have prefered a less prominent eye 

2nd OAKTREEPARK ALFIE

Very kind and gentle expression. Carrying a little weight and could be a little more fluid on the move but she is 9 and enjoying herself

1st WITCHSTONE FOLLOW THE DREAM WITH TETTOY

Square outline which he kept standing and moving. Masc yet elegant dog with lovely head, eye, and ears. Topline developing nicely. Nice depth and ribbing. Moved well in profile. BP

2nd TWOWAYSHOUSE TUDOR KING

Lovely elegant neck and nice topline. Good feet but pasterns could be stronger. Moves well but maybe picks up a fraction in front. Prefered ear set and strength of muzzle of the 1st

1st WITCHSTONE UNEXPECTED GIFT

Beautifully constructed and balanced which shows when she stands and moves. Her footfall is excellent. I could have looked at her head all day. The detail and balance is beautiful and her dark, almond oblique sparkling eyes, framed by her exc ears correctly set took my breath away. BOB 

2nd WITCHSTONE SHARE THE DREAM WITH VIDRA

Her outline is beautifully elegant and flowing. Square and balanced with a lovely neck and topline and tail set. Just preferred expression and ear placement on 1st.

1st LASAGESSE SUPERSONIC

Could be more elegant all through. His head shape is good and eye shape, colour and placement. Good ears if a shade big. Good topline and exc coat, colour and markings. 

2nd SHEDAN FOLLOW THAT GIRL AT VIDRA 

Elegant bitch with a nice topline and underline and she kept her outline standing and moving. A little soft in ear and I preferred the expression of 1st. Moved ok

1st WAUKESHA MAGIC TOUCH FOR RUSSIATREE 

A shade long but I liked her head, eye and ears. Good neck and nice bone. Feminine with substance, exc feet, colour is good, nicely defined topline but flags her tail a little RBOB

2nd WITCHSTONE HALO WITH TETTOY

She was stylish going around and kept a nice shape but not really collected on the move. Preferred ears and eyes on the first.

1st SABRINA DOBRY ROK AT KIRDANCHI 

She has a basic good shape but tends to lengthen on the move due to lack of confidence and not collecting herself. Hopefully this will improve with age. Has good basic and balanced construction with a lovely feminine head and good expression. Good neck and topline and ribs well developed for age. BP

1st MISS DOBRY ROK AT KIRDANCHI 

Ribs are nicely sprung. She has a well defined chin and her eyes are a good shape, size and colour. Topline good, exc tail. Would prefer her a little more up on leg and compact to finish the picture. Moved steady.

1st YAKEE BLUE TOPAZ OF COPPERFIELD

Fem with good bone and substance for her age. Lovely clean neck and topline and a strong rear. BP

Junior

1st ANGELS PHOENIX DYLAN DOG OF COPPERFIELD 

Masc compact and sturdy. Muzzle is square, exc ears, very strong neck leading into firm topline. Good bone and feet. Good rear which he uses on the move. Needs to smooth through the front end as he matures and loses his puppy fat. RBOB

1st ESSENCEERA DREAM ABOUT ME AT TORREYABLOOM

She has a nice clean balanced outline. Feminine with substance. Well filled in front with good depth and good ribbing. Firm topline and good feet she moved soundly and steady but I would have liked her to be a little more free and energetic. BOB

1st COPPERFIELDS MUDDLEBRAINS 

Masc and compact dog. Good head proportions , skull flat with well placed eyes. He has a good topline which he holds on the move but he could have a little more strength in the pasterns front and rear which would alter his movement

1st JUTLANDERS BEAM ME UP

He has good legs for his age with nice amount of bone and a nice neck. Stands over a little too much ground. Hopefully topline will firm up with age. He really needs to drop in chest and start to fill out. He has some lovely breed points to admire but needs to be carefully conditioned over the next few months.

2nd ANNADANES TURKANA 

She has a nice square outline and proportions and her head plains are parallel. Whilst she is balanced in her angulation it is very moderate. Would have preferred a slightly less racy appearance

1st SANTANNA SPECIAL LEGACY AT JUSTINIAN

When set up properly he has a handsome look about him. His head is masc with no coarseness, good ears, lovely arched strong neck, with good bone and feet. A shade upright in pastern. Could benefit from a little more leg length which will hopefully come as he continues to develop and grow. Croup could be a little less defined. He picks himself up on the move and uses what he has in a positive and energetic manner. 

2nd DAINOAK DREAMS OF BLUE

He is just about square and is balanced in his confirmation. He is in good condition and is moderate throughout and holds a firm topline. Moves pretty sound down and back and with ease but could have a little more power. His head did not appeal to me.

1st TAYSCA VIVE EST BELLE

Black bitch who has a basic square outline with sufficient leg length and has a good topline and underline. Head plains are parallel, good length to neck but it is thickening due to carrying too much weight all over which detracts from her shoulders and forechest which are carrying the burden. That said she moved pretty good down and back and had some purpose going around in profile. 

2nd DORNOIR LUCIANA

Much more elegant than 1st but needs some body condition and muscle to strengthen her feet and pasterns.

1st DAINMAJIK THE WIZARD 

Handsome upstanding masc dog. Well proportioned in profile. He is a male all through but nothing coarse with good bone and feet. Good length to head and the plains are parallel. A good basic workmanlike head with no thrills. Ears a shade big to be critical. Exc topline which he holds on the move and a nice slightly rounded croup leading into nicely muscled and angulated quarters. He is a good picture moving in profile but could be a shade tidier in front. BOB

2nd JUTLANDERS ARE YOU READY 

Have judged this bitch before and done her well. Whilst a shade long, in good condition it is not as noticeable. It is difficult sometimes in winter months to maintain the same levels of exercise which results in a softer, fatter outcome. Roll on spring as she has beautiful type excelling head, eye, ears , neck and her very typical carriage and arrogance RBOB

1st KALKASI THE ETERNAL CHASE 

8 month. Attractive head and expression strong neck, good topline and tail and exc coat. Just going through an awkward growth stage at the moment and the front and rear are growing at different rates. She pulls it all together though and moves well for her age with nice typical movement and outline RBOB BP

1st JUMICAR CASANOVA

Nicely proportioned. Good head shape, and balanced length to his neck. Good topline and strong rear. Needs to strengthen in pasterns with maturity and needs to develop in little in body. Moved well in profile and lovely going away. Just needs time to firm up in front

1st KALKASI SUPER COOL

Nice type proportions and balance. Lovely feminine head and eye. Feet could be better. Correct neck length and Good topline. Good depth of chest and well ribbed leaving a strong loin. Moved very well and used her tail perfectly. BOB

2nd JUMICAR ICE WARRIOR 

Overall proportions are good if a shade long in neck. He is carrying too much weight which detracted from an otherwise acceptable outline and caused him to be a little lethargic on the move..

1st TCHERIA TCHARLESTON

Bedlington Terrier. Nicely put together dog. Very moderate and balanced with nice gentle curves. Keeps a lovely outline standing and moving and has nice typical carriage on the move. 

2nd DRISHAUN FAIR AS A LILY 

Young cream Afghan male. Has nice proportions and balance. Lovely expression within a chiselled head. Good neck, topline, pin bones and nicely defined croup with a correct tail. Very raw but lots to like and he has a nice light easy gait when he thinks about it..
