I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge at this extremely well run and hospitable show.

Norwich Terrier

Open

1st) Smith’s Javidel Walk in the Park, lovely 3 year old boy who I have judged & did well before. He is a lovely example of the breed being lovely and cobby with a short, compact body and plenty of substance. Masculine head with well filled muzzle and well set oval eyes giving a keen expression. Neat ears, set well which he could use a bit more. Good neck and shoulders, short level back and well-made hindquarters with plenty of muscle. Shown in great body condition with a beautifully presented harsh jacket. Moved out so well with confidents and ever so sound both up and back. Well deserved BOB and G1.

2nd) Batey’s Contilly On Fire, Pretty bitch of a lovely compact, well balanced shape just lacking the maturity of 1. Appealing head with keen bright expression, good breath of skull, well placed ears and dark oval eyes. Strong neck, well laid shoulders, well ribbed, level back and high set tail. Presented well in good harsh jacket. Moved out soundly both fore and aft.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier

1st) Nicholson’s Northstaff Poster Boy Quality black dog with lots to like. Clean and unexaggerated masculine head of good proportions, good ear set and dark round eyes, all making for an appealing expression. Well constructed and well balanced. Well placed shoulders with good topline and nice tuck up. Super angulations front and rear and is well let down at the hocks and plenty of muscle tone. Moved and handled well BOB

2nd) Hammond & Moody’s Kentnten Sophisticated, Just 6 months old and still very much a baby but really enjoying her day. Lovely head shape with a keen expression. Well set ears which she used to advantage. Good clean bite with large teeth. She moved well once settled and showed some promise BP

Welsh Terrier

1st) Heath’s Cannyyatton Miss Moppet 11 month old girl that presents a well balanced outline when standing. Feminine, well-balanced head with keen eye. Good lay of shoulder, good depth and spring of rib. Moved well in front but could be a bit neater in hind action. Presented and handled to advantage. BOB & BP

Bedlington Terrier

1st) McNally’s Conekesheved Jungle Bells, Beautiful 11 month old bitch with a typical graceful outline. Excellent head with narrow skull, so feminine with lovely expressive eyes. Low set ears hanging close to cheeks. Excellent reach of neck, well laid shoulders and correct forelegs & hare feet. Good depth to body and correct flat ribs. Muscular hindquarters, strong well let down hocks. Moved out so well in profile and ever so sound coming and going. I was happy to award her BOB, BP, G3 & PG1

Fox Terrier (Wire)

1st) Griffith’s Brocolitia Point of Fire ShCM ShCEx, smart and well-balanced in appearance with a pleasing outline. Masculine head with almost flat skull and well placed small, dark eyes giving a keen expression. Good front, lovely neck and shoulders, short enough in back and tail bang on top. Strong legs and excellent compact, neat feet. Shown in a good harsh coat and smartly presented. Moved out with purpose and very sound. BPB & G2.

Bull Terrier (Miniature)

Graduate

1st) Woods’ Phunsize Divo Cato with Kiltonthorpe Up to size dog but the most collected of the two and very soundly made all through. Super ears and perfect mouth with big teeth. Strong neck and correct topline. A tad proud of his tail. Moved with exuberance but very soundly. In great condition and full of substance. BOB & BP & PG4

2nd) Foley’s Nevskiy Tserber Duran Duran, better sized male puppy with a good overall balance and substance. Good mouth. Straight front with nice, tidy feet. Short bodied. Shown in very good condition. Moved out well just not as tidy as the winner in front.

1st) Woods’ Prince Guvnor at Kiltonthorpe ShCM, 10.5 year old male who totally belies his years. Lovely shaped head topped with ears straight up and pleasing expression. Good barrel shape with a strong front on sturdy straight legs. Solidly built hind quarters with excellent muscle tone. Moved out so soundly and really enjoyed his day.

1st) Pearson’s Braxquin One In A Million for Winoski, nicely balanced bitch with a lovely head and piercing dark eyes with excellent pigment, good stop and correct mouth. Good length of neck flowing into a well-placed shoulders followed by a short, level compact back. Correct tail set. Well-muscled rear quarters with correct angulation and strong movement just would like to see her put a little more effort in. BOB

1st) Pearson’s Placido Musical Mission at Winoski, smart Cesky male with a well-balanced outline and typical shape. Nice head with long muzzle & good width of skull, dark expressive eyes. High set ears carried close. Good, clean neck of a good length leading into well laid shoulders, forelegs could be neater but good bone. Well sprung ribs. Well angulated hindquarters with good muscle tone. Really came alive on the move with the characteristic brisk & positive action. BP & PG3

1st) Smith’s Javiden Despicable May, well balanced outline and of a good shape. Masculine head of good strength with correct broad skull and well-defined stop. Bright expressive eyes and well set v-shaped ears which he used to advantage. Decent length of neck leading back into well placed shoulders. Short, straight forelegs with adequate bone. Well sprung ribs. Topline held firm with correctly set tail. Really excelled on the move being positive fore and aft and a lovely profile action. BOB & G4

2nd) Pearson’s Zvonenka Hamentashen at Winoski, well balanced Cesky bitch. Correct head proportions and keen eye. Clean enough in front but could be better Good hindquarters with well-developed upper thigh. Moved soundly with drive and very sound.

2) Border Terrier - Atkinson’s Raedwulf Nocturn lovely otter head with dark eye and good keen expression. Good small ears falling correctly and close to the cheek. Forelegs straight with small feet. Good ribs, set well back, with short loin. Easy spannable. Good double coat with thick pelt. Moved out well with straight movement and very sound.

2nd) Atkinson’s Raedwulf Sunset young bitch who is pleasing for size and overall balance, attractive otter head, with a short strong muzzle. Straight front, deep narrow chest, well ribbed back and easily spannable. Moved out fore and aft with ease. Shown in a harsh jacket.

Junior

1st) Fleming’ Brankell Countdown to Flegato very much liked this young Border bitch, super otter head with a lovely expression and well ser small ears, falling correct. Straight forelegs and tight feet. Good length of neck, level topline and well set, thick tail. Easily spannable with good thick pelt and harsh jacket. Covers the ground with ease.

2nd) Batey’s Contilly On Fire

1st) Spence’s Foxwater House of Jazz, feminine otter headed girl, with ears set on well and a strong bite. Straight forelegs, well ribbed back and good hindquarters and carrot shaped tail. Could be better in topline. Easily spannable and shown in good coat with thick pelt. Steady on move and sound.

2nd) Boyd’s Thorneswin New Beginning Border Terrier male and a size bigger than I would prefer but lovely masculine head with keen expression. Soundly made throughout and very sound moving fore and aft.

1st) Griffiths’ Brocolitia Grace Kelly at Starland, really showy, eye-catching bitch. Correct size and typical outlook. Long head, strong jaws with scissor bite and large teeth. Good conformation and pleasing to go over on the table. Lovely short back. Stands on tight, round feet. Tail well set and carried. Moved with purpose and plenty of drive. Good coat of the correct texture and very well presented. A credit to her owner.

2nd) Hall’s Geordiestaff Canny Laddie JW quality, masculine Stafford male with super head and eye. Straight forelegs with good bone, legs set well apart and well laid-back shoulders. Deep body with well sprung ribs and level top line and short in back. Strong well-muscled rear with good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Presented in great condition and moved freely around the ring. Close up to 1.

AVNSC Hound

1st) Wood’s Marada The Cheviot, impressive Basset Hound male with lots to like. Loved his masculine head with that typical domed skull and great expression from his lozenge shaped eyes. Well-made front with elbows fitting nicely against his chest of nice depth and with a well sprung rounded rib. Muscular rear with well bent stifles, strong hocks and large well knuckled feet. Moved out well with good reach and drive and very sound. BP & PG3

1st) Dalgarno’s Vencharno Mojito BJWBE’18 Compact young PBGV dog, so well balanced. Pleasing expression from a correctly shaped head with good ear set. Correct length of neck and well placed shoulders, well-muscled throughout. Excellent angulation both fore and aft. Topline held firm at all times. Tail set and carriage well. Presented in a good harsh coat. Moved with great drive, so sound and a lovely proud carriage. BOB & G1

2nd) Allitt’s Austonleys Gilbert D’Arcy at Kascarah, well covered and mature Wolfhound male. Attractive head with a good expression. Strong well arched neck. Straight well angulated front. Good depth of chest and spring of rib. Super rear quarters with good muscle tone. Moved very well in a ring that was a little too small for him.

2) Saluki - Pierson’s Classicus Omarion, just 6 months old and what a really exciting prospect! Such an attractive, masculine Grizzle & White Particolour dog. Lovely typical outline, graceful with flowing lines. Long head, good strength of jaw and excellent bite. Well set, oval eye. Good reach of neck with excellent angulation both fore and aft. Correct topline and perfect for substance and body. Tail of good length and low set. Good oval feet. Moved with ease and freedom but just needs to settle a little in front but I have no doubt this will come.

3) Rhodesian Ridgeback - Greeves’ Hespa Hermes JW well balanced masculine boy. Good head, nice broad flat skull with nice length to muzzle. Good strong neck into muscular sloping shoulders & excellent straight forelegs. Well developed chest with good depth. Good spring of rib and strong loin. Nice turn of stifle and good hocks. Lovely straight free movement and look a picture in profile on the move.

4) Dachshund (Miniature Long-Haired) Mason’s Tolberg Beez Kneez at Teckletown super pretty bitch with the most lovely conical head and typical expression. Clean neck, ideally could be longer and well laid back shoulders, well ribbed set back into a short muscular loin. Well angulated both fore and aft and excellent muscletone. Moved out well and soundly. Presented and handled perfectly.

Hound Puppy Group

1) Beagle Foster and Jones’ Detrick Secretariat at Stormpasture – Super handsome Beagle male with so much potential and another very exciting prospect. Lovely shape and size. Beautiful soft appealing expression. Excellent dark eye and well-set ears with long leathers. Totally balanced outline. Excellent lay of shoulders, straight legs & round bone. Spirit level topline. Short coupled with excellent ribs and so well covered. Tight, firm feet. Tail correctly set and carried well. Good reach and drive & ever so sound. Presented in excellent condition & handled to advantage. I was delighted to hear he was awarded RBPIS. Very well done and good luck in the future with him!

4) Dachshund (Miniature Smooth-Haired) Mason’s Teckletown Raindrops, 6 moth old B/T finishing over a lovely and promising quartet if puppies. Very pretty bitch with a well-balanced head and lovely shaped eye giving a keen expression. Good keel and depth to chest. Clean neck and shoulders. Level back with good ribbing and short loin. Well-muscled hindquarters which she used to move out soundly.

1st) Jones’ Clairdale Evelyn Beagle, pretty bitch with lovely head. Good eye shape and correctly set ears. Lovely reach of neck leading into a well laid shoulder and good length of upper arm. Good topline, correct tailset and carriage. Well angulated front and rear. Free and easy on the move, moved with drive.

2nd) Hall’s Misingi All About Me of Cynami – feminine Ridgeback with nice head with good size of ears, correct bite, dark round expressive eyes. Good length of neck leading into good strong shoulders. Well angulated rear with good muscle. Would just like more of her altogether. Moved out well when settled.

Graduate

1st) Taylor’s Amarillo Rose upstanding Wolfhound bitch with plenty of substance throughout and excellent depth. Nice head and expression. Slightly too long in back and ribs don’t extend far enough back. Well angulated in the rear. Moved extremely well and soundly in a small space.

2nd) Hall’s Misingi All About Me of Cynami

2nd) Falcus’ Marsala Mysterious Talisman Phareal Lovely headed Basenji with good wrinkle, well set on and held ears. Good length of well crested neck leading into well laid shoulders. Level topline, well ribbed back with well set on tail. Good length of leg. Moved out with style and very sound.

Veteran

Two lovey miniature long dachshunds, that are both a credit to their owners.

1st) Drady’s Kobo First Chance, slightly bigger than id prefer but a grand age of 11 and looking so well for it. Lovely head with keen expression. Good keel and nice depth. Straight forelegs and neat feet. Correct topline and nicely covered. Moved out well and ever so sound. Presented in excellent coat and condition.

2nd) Jackson’s Tolberg Spelltacular lovely 7 year old girl with a gorgeous head and eye. Tidy front and good length of neck leading into well placed shoulders. Good depth of chest and well sprung ribs leading back into a short loin. Correct topline and well set on tail. Moved out well, a little close at front.
