I would firstly like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge this well run show, I know it can’t have been easy with the start of Covid-19 but you all did an excellent job. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for their lovely entry, especially the Welsh springer spaniel exhibitors as I took over their breed after entries had closed.

Golden Retrievers

Minor Puppy D/B 3 (1 abs)

1st BP & RBOB Grantham’s Reflection of Wizngrace at Dijumija, 7-month-old dark bitch with the most pleasing head and gentle expression and lovely dark pigment, lovely angles both front and rear, lovely depth of chest and spring of rib for her age, firm level top line, correct tail placement, which she held lovely on the move, in good coat and correct texture, moved well for her age, this will be one that I will watch her progress with interest, I was delighted to award her best puppy in breed but I was even more delighted when she was awarded reserve best puppy in show, congratulations very well deserved.

2nd Cole’s Rooksbury Kalypso, 6 ½ month old pale bitch with a sweet head and expression, good neck into well placed shoulders, nice depth of chest, good top line and tail set, nice turn of stifle moved well once settled.

Puppy D/B 4 (3abs)

1st Brewer’s Stradcot Coconut Ice, 9 month old pale bitch with a pleasing head and expression, nice front angles and good length of neck, good depth of chest and spring of rib, firm level top line, good turn of stifle in good coat, moved well.

Junior D/B 3 (2 abs)

1st & BOB Pett’s Rumwood Three Times a Lady, I judged this bitch in July 2019 and all I can say is wow she didn’t disappoint then and she certainly did disappoint today either, I really can’t say much different than I did that day, pale bitch, with the most feminine head and expression with great pigment to finish the look off, nice length of neck that just flowed into the lovely correct shoulder placement, good depth through the heart, lovely spring of ribs, short coupled and firm top line which was held standing and moving, great angles at the rear with a nice developed second thigh that she used to move around the ring with ease, well set tail and carried straight of her back, in lovely coat. It was a pleasure to watch her be awarded reserve best in show, congratulations.

2nd Prowse’s Shearstone Fifty Fifty at Contoul, Masculine dog with a good head and expression without being over done, nice length of neck into good front angles, nice depth of chest and spring of rib, nice turn of stifle, level top line, moved well.

2nd Oates & Bowie’s Fiveshill Bonnie Wee Lass at Beaubute, nice bitch with a nice had and expression, medium length of neck into nice shoulders, good depth of chest, good turn of stifle and second thigh, good top line, moved well

1st Rose’s Ruler of The World over Azteca, Masculine dog with a good head and expression, good firm neck into nice shoulder placements, good depth of chest and spring of rib, firm top line, good tail placement, nice turn of stifle well developed second thigh, moved with drive.

Open Bitch 2 (1 ab)

1st Pett’s Stormrick High Hopes at Rumwood, Darkish bitch with a pleasing head and expression, good neck into nice shoulders, good chest and spring of rib, good top line and tail placement, nice turn of stifle and well developed second thigh that she used to move with drive.

Welsh Springer Spaniel

Puppy 1 1

1st & BP, Leach’s Islanza Hey Dude, 9 month old dog, with a pleasing head and expression, good length of neck flowing into good shoulder placements, nice depth of chest and good spring of ribs for his age which will develop more with his maturity, lovely backend construction, nice developing second thigh, correct tail placement and held well on the move, this young lad was enjoying his first time outside and moved well once settled with owner,

Yearling D/B 2 (1 abs)

1st Chanangel Mr Whodat At Cherryheath JW, good masculine dog without being over done in any way, very pleasing head and expression, strong neck going into well placed shoulders, good depth of chest and a nice spring of rib, nice length of back and but still short coupled, good rear end angles, good developed second thigh, correct tail set placement, but he just carried a little high today and I think this was due to it being an outside show and the wind and rain was not helping this young lad, when settled he moved with drive.

Post Graduate D/B 6 (2 abs)

1st & BOB Leach’s Islanza Sprinter, masculine dog with a lovely head and expression and all the correct chiselling underneath the eyes, good length of muzzle in proportions with the rest of his head, nice depth of chest and lovely spring of ribs, nice top line and length of back, nice and short coupled, correct rear angles, and nice well developed second thigh, moved with drive around the ring, stood well on good bone and feet, in good coat.

2nd Bennett’s Helgen Romeo The Lover, dog with a nice head and expression, good neck, nice angles both front and rear, good depth of chest, nice spring of rib, standing well on good bone and good feet, moved well around the ring, nice tail set and this was held well on the move.

3rd Gough’s Julita Rukester

Open D/B 8 (4 abs)

1st & RBOB Woodham’s Glynell Jiffy, Good upstanding male with a lovely head and expression, good masculine neck into well placed shoulders, strong depth of chest and nice spring of rib, strong form top line, good tail placement, good angles at the rear and a nice well developed second thigh, moved with drive and purpose around the ring.

2nd Stone’s Stedigan All In Good Time For Merrem RL1EX ShCM, Masculine dog with a nice head and expression, correct angles both front and rear, good body and nice spring of ribs, short coupled, strong top line, moved well with drive around the ring

3rd Barkley’s Cherryheath’s Mr Mojito

1st Crouch’s Trimere Timeless with Kassan (ESS) liver and white bitch with a sweet head and expression, lovely angles both front and rear, good depth of chest and nice spring of ribs, good top line and nice tail placement, moved with drive.

2nd Woodham’s Glynell Jiffy (WSS) placed 1st In WSS open class
