I would like to thank the Matlock Canine Society committee for inviting me to judge Briards at their 2020 Open Show. I was pleased to find excellent quality dogs that were a pleasure to go over.

PD/B(1) 1st Robinson’s Stormymoon Ghost: A lot to like about this 10 month fawn bitch. Beginning to change coat colour, but with good break in the coat for a youngster, and starting to develop the correct harsh dry texture. A little timid: needs more experience in the ring to allow her to settle to be gone over. Kind expression. Good length of arched neck. Pleasing rusticity and good proportions. Good length of tail. Needs to settle on the move. BP

JD/B(2) 1st Canty’s Bargemon St Emilion: 13 months beautifully balanced and feminine fawn bitch. Good scissor bite, super pigmentation and kind, dark eye. Good length of arched neck. Good bone with appropriate depth and width of chest. Excellent proportions presenting a lovely silhouette. Coat colour yet to return, but with harsh, dry texture. Good angulation front and rear with good length of tail. Well muscled. Rock steady topline standing and moving. Balanced on the move with good tail carriage. BoB

2nd Coleman’s Jandade Shooting Star to Hartswelin

PGD/B (1) 1st Coleman’s Jandade Shooting Star to Hartswelin: 16 months well grown black bitch. Excellent head with good scissor bite, super pigmentation and kind expression. Good bone. Nice depth of chest. Would like greater breadth, and this will come with maturity. Good angles front and rear. A supple mover, covering the ground easily, with grace and correct tail carriage. RBoB
