I would like to thank the committee for the kind invitation to judge at this well organised and friendly show. I was delighted with the dogs I had to judge, and spoilt for choice for BIS. A huge thank you to all of the exhibitors for the pleasure of your super dogs

Border Terrier

Puppy (1,0)

1. Haydon & Gibbings - Earthtaw Laugh Out Loud

A pleasing 7 month old dog with lots to like. Nicely shaped skull and strength to the foreface, such a kind yet alert expression from his dark eye. Well developed through the body for his age, just needing to settle in topline. Standing on good legs and tight feet. Shown in with a good pelt and coat having a harsh texture. Moving true fore and aft - BP

1. Mr & Mrs Freeman - Cedarhill Front Of House

Lovely dog from any angle, making his presence felt, this 21 month old dog took my eye. Thought him to be so balanced when stood, clean and workmanlike. Lovely otter head, dark expressive eyes, well placed ears and short strong muzzle. Having a flow to his topline, to a well set on and carried tail. Easy to span with a good pelt. Well shaped ribcage with racy muscular hindquarters. Moving with purpose and correct footfall – BOB & Gp 2

2. Haydon & Gibbings - Earthtaw Kafir Lily

Happy and outgoing 19 month old bitch. She has a pleasing outline on the stack. Liked her head and expression, which was full of mischief. Deep through the ribcage, firm back, racy hindquarters. Shown with a super harsh jacket. Strong and active on the move - RBOB

1. Mr & Mrs Yeates - Badgerbeck Tiny Dancer At Bluebabel

2 year old bitch, who is typical in outline and sound in construction. Good width to the backskull and a strong short foreface. Pleasing alert expression. Correct moderate length of neck, firm in her topline. Not quite the harshness of coat texture or muscle tone of the winners today. Positive and true on the move

1. Miss Malden - Louka Starman

A powerhouse of a dog who is coming up 3 years of age. Certainly giving the impression of strength and substance. Loved his strong and deep head, which was well filled in and with a scissor bite. Strong neck flowing into well placed shoulders and deep in forechest and well sprung ribs. Well developed muscular hindquarters, which when he put his mind to it, moved with drive - BOB

Dandie Dinmont Terrier

1. Mrs Jacka-Slater - Partoncourt Show Me Heaven

Just loved this 9 month old mustard bitch. She has such a shapely silhouette when stood and full of quality. A real charmer with her outgoing and fun personality. She oozes femininity yet has strength. Her head shows good strength to the backskull and muzzle of good proportions, and those deep dark soulful eyes. Clean neck into well placed shoulders with good depth to the forechest. Ribs nicely rounded and holding the correct topline when stood and on the move. Well boned limbs. Shown with a crisp textured coat and beautifully presented. Moving with style and vigour – BOB, BP, Gp 4, Puppy Group 1 – Best Puppy In Show

2. Miss France - OSW Miss Sophie Di Luna Caprese At Torbrae (Imp) JW ShCM ShCEx

Another super example of the breed, put down to perfection and showing herself with style. Really liked this 2 year old mustard bitch. Found her to be well proportioned, with a pleasing outline. Lovely head and expression. Well developed through the body. Shown in good coat and texture. Moving with an excellent side gait - RBOB

Well made 9 month old bitch, who holds a lovely balanced and elegant outline when stood. Good length to her wedge shaped head, and intelligent dark eye, alert to her handler. Holding a good topline and underline, with depth to the brisket. Showing herself off to advantage to win BOB & BP & Puppy Gp3

1. Thomas & Griffiths - Gazstaff’s Black Magic

Fit and muscular 14 month old B/B dog. He has strength and power, but not overdone. Liked him for his size, stature and balance. Masculine head, good width to the backskull with pleasing depth, well developed cheeks, expressive round dark eyes, and neat rose ears. His strong muscular neck flowing into a firm and level topline. Standing with good width in front and on well boned limbs and neat feet. Well developed through the body with a good spring to the ribs. Strong hindquarters with a well carried tail. Precise and powerful movement, with drive from the rear, showing to be parallel both fore and aft – BOB & Gp1 & RBIS

2. Mr Antonio - Gazstaff’s Man In Black For Antoniostaff

Litter brother to winner, and very much peas in a pod. This B/B dog has the desired substance and muscle tone in a neat package. Well shaped head, round dark inquisitive eyes, Good strength through the body, with well sprung ribs, holding a firm level topline. Powerful mover, but today preferring the precision of movement of his brother - RBOB

1. Mrs Minett - Duskhunter Shines Bright

Lovely bitch just over a year old, with a pleasing compact outline when stood. She has a well proportioned head, dark intelligent eye, neat ears. Good length of neck, well boned limbs, with the brisket well let down. Short coupled, today not always holding her topline. Well set on and carried tail. Put down in full coat of good texture. Moving out with purpose - RBOB

2. Ms Jasper - Clavelshay Wilberforce

What a little sweetie this dog is, just 6 months old, having a fun day. Compact in outline, raw in body as you would expect but everything in the right place. Confident and outgoing and his dark eye having a mischievous glint. Good depth to the body, and nicely boned limbs. Moving out well – BP & Puppy group 2

1. Mrs Thomson - Hillcloud Whirlwind With Ashgate

19 month old bitch, thought her to be shapely in her outline, with a compact body. She has a well proportioned head, with strength to the foreface, good stop and lovely dark eye. Having a good length of neck, which cleanly flows into her level topline. Well developed through the body, with ribs carried well back. Moving well both ways - BOB

1. Mrs Grant - Dannebriel Magical Minerva (SCWT)

9 month old bitch, who is just right for size and of good proportions. When stood she has well balanced body lines. Liked her well proportioned head, which has strength yet retains her elegance and femininity. She has a lovely flow from nose to tail. Holding a firm topline both stood and on the move. Chest well let down and nice straight fore limbs. Well presented and handled. Needing to still settle in her movement, showing a lovely side gait – BP & Puppy Group 4

2. Haydon & Gibbings - Earthtaw Lincoln (Norfolk)

Cheeky 10 month old Norfolk dog. Thought him to be a real character. He is a compact and sturdy young dog who enjoyed giving his handler a hard time! Lovely head piece with a Keen and alert expression, deep in the body with well sprung ribs, holding a firm topline. Shown in good coat and condition. Rather distracted on the move today

1. Mrs Lewis - Janski Philosopher Dajaces (Cesky)

Solid and muscular 3 year old dog. When stood he has an impressive outline with plenty of bone and substance, but with a hint of elegance. Masculine head which is well proportioned, lovely dark eye. Good length of neck, and holding the correct topline both stood and on the move. Well boned limbs with muscular hindquarters. Moving with good drive, and showing himself off to advantage. Well presented and handled. BOB & Gp3

Lovely 4 year old bitch, who pushed the winner all the way. Standing four square and with a pleasing outline when stood. Well balanced head, with a good dark eye, well placed ears, and alert expression. Strong muscular neck flowing into a firm well held topline. Body is well developed, with a good spring to the ribs. Moving true fore and aft, just preferring the rear drive of the winner today. Shown in good coat

A V Terrier Veteran (4,1)

Well constructed 7 year old dog. Pleasing outline to this happy young veteran, showing himself off to advantage. Thought him just right for size and balance. Lovely otter head, with dark expressive eyes, short strong foreface. Good reach of neck, brisket well let down and spannable, standing on good legs and tight feet. Good pelt and coat, with his carrot tail in constant use! Moving out true- Best Terrier Veteran

2. Mrs Lewis - Komidion Nickelodeon Avec Dajaces ShCM VW(Cesky)

Another super veteran, and in fine fettle at 9 years old. A pleasing outline, who is all male, shown in lovely condition and muscle tone. Typical head, with good length, dark eye, long clean neck, depth through the body, strong hindquarters. Not quite the precision of winner on the move today. Beautifully presented

Delightful 7 month old dog, liked him for his overall body proportions when stood, giving a balanced picture with slightly more length to the body. He has an appealing head, and typical heavy ears, and lovely dark eyes all giving a kind expression. Thought him to be well developed through the body, with good depth to the forechest, and holding his topline with a slight rise to the croup, standing on strong boned limbs. Showing good reach and drive on the move – BOB & BP

A quality dog of 9 months of age, showing lots of character and who loved acting the fool! Found him to be most appealing in his outline when stood, one part flowing seamlessly into the next, with nothing overdone. His head is masculine with good proportions, and a lovely dark eye. Strong clean neck flowing into a firm and well held topline. Super depth and substance for his age, with well boned limbs and tight feet. Once settled showed good rear drive whilst holding his shape

A bitch of substance who is coming up a year old and has that typical aristocratic air about her. She is shapely in her outline with good bone and substance. Well developed through the body, and harmonious angulation fore and aft. Liked her precise and powerful movement

Just fell for this red dog, what a little charmer he is. So full of character and charisma. Looked a picture on the stack, alert and attentive to his handler. Handsome head, with slight rounding to the skull, well defined stop with those lovely expressive eyes and large fringed ears. Firm short back, fine boned limbs with compact feet. Coming to life on the move with a super brisk action and owning the ring

Super 8 year old bitch, looking on great form. She is so balanced and workmanlike. Very sound in her conformation, with one part flowing seamlessly into the next. Strong hindquarters, with good width of thigh and in super muscle tone. Shown with a good harsh jacket. Both in harmony on the move to show off her precise ground covering action
