Mid Western Gundog Society

Field Spaniels. Despite the storms that we have had, the sun shone and many thanks to the exhibitors in facing the problems in getting to the venue. Overall I was pleased to see that mouths were correct, and the exhibits were in good condition. Keep an eye on paws as they should be tight, and round not “splayed” Glad to see that all the exhibits had good bone which is crucial for bringing out the best in the breed. Puppy (2). 1) Gallen’s Woodsong Pleiades (Imp FRA) Nice liver dog with a good head and typical field expression. Good depth of chest, and a strong neck, laid back shoulders good bend of stifle. Strong hindquarters providing the power which showed in the movement. Best Puppy. RBOB 2) James Woodsong Pitch Perfect (IMP FRA) Litter sister to 1st. well-presented liver bitch, good head, deep chest and strong neck. Strong hind quarters and a good bend of stifle. Not much to choose between both of these and could easily have changed places. Yearling (1). Russell & Palm’s Kingsmist Endeavour. Nice 2 year old dog who did not show his best. Nice head and eye set with a deep chest and moved well. Unfortunately would not stand still. Just needs more confidence in the ring. PG (0). Open(3 1) Gallen’s Woodsong Lexington (Imp FRA). Lovely liver dog with a typical field head supported by a strong neck. Legs and feet strong with good bone. Well laid back shoulders. A strong back, powerful legs with a good bend of stifle moved well. BOB.2) Shipton’s Winterbourne True Love for Mishules (IMP SWE) BJW18. Lovely black bitch with a nice head melting expression strong neck and good depth of chest, well boned legs but did not seem herself on the day which showed in her movement. Graham Heaney
