Maidenhead & DCS - Open Show - 15 February 2020  - Judge – Fiona King (Kingsline)

CLASS 276 – PUPPY (4,0)

1st – Cole’s Xandene Black Magic in Myntie: dark brindle dog good bone and balance throughout; large strong square head without any excess but excellent padding and width to muzzle; satisfying large nose and wide nostrils; lovely dark pigmentation throughout including dark expressive eyes; well-place open ears of good neat size giving this dog an excellent expression; decent neck leading into well-laid shoulders and short back with a moderate roach and tail present; tight tidy feet finished with super dark nails; although young and still immature in rib, he had strong bone with good angulation fore and aft and moved well coming and adequately going. Delighted to award him RBoB, BP and see him achieve PG4

2nd – Warren & Jobson’s Warson Stan Butler; double-hooded brindle pied; less developed in head qualities than my winner today, but nevertheless an attractive balanced and compact outline with a short back and strong bone; wide straight front; nice spring of rib and shapely tuck-up; tidy feet; movement adequate both ways.

3rd – Hau’s Lakaribay Kiss Me

4th – Snook’s Bankholt Angel of Islay at Kanshim

CLASS 277 – JUNIOR (1,1)

CLASS 278 – POST GRADUATE (2,1)

1st – Brooks & Cairns’ Corursus Under the Ivy JW: double-hooded brindle pied bitch; adequate head with nice dark round eye and correct bite but not the strength of muzzle that my winner had today; good reach of neck; well-placed shoulder; correct width to forechest and spring of rib; correct topline; moved adequately both coming and going.

Class 279 – Open (3,1)

1st – Warren & Jobson’s Warson Madam Pomfrey: small compact fawn bitch with dark mask and correct black pigmentation; lovely overall balance to a feminine body shape and best mover today. Strong square head with depth of muzzle through its length with pleasing moderate layback; well place ears; elegant neck; strong well laid shoulders; short back and gentle roach over strong loins; tidy tail; good rear angulation and hocks well let down and tight feet. Delighted to be able to award her BoB today and note that she placed G4

2nd – Brooks & Cairns’ Corursus the Glamorous Life JW ShCm; a mature medium sized dark brindle bitch with white bib; strong square head with good strength of muzzle; dark round eye and pigmentation providing a pleasant expression and correct lay-back; ear set wide with correct flatness of skull between them; good spring of rib and width to chest but would have preferred a slightly wider shoulder set; correct topline; moved adequately both ways.
