Border Counties Gundog Club

Border Counties Gundog Club

26/01/2020

Welsh Springer Spaniel

Junior (1,0)

1. Graham’s Nyliram Let’s Twist Again – 14 mth dog who presents a balanced picture. Good shoulder placement, ribcage had enough length and was well sprung. Although he is still some way off maturity, he shows plenty of promise. On the move he is very sound coming and going, holding his topline well as he goes.

Yearling (4,1)

1. Murray’s Madsprings Dragon From Priestbeck – Young upstanding male who won this class on his breed type and his movement. Although I would prefer slightly more lay of shoulder and turn of stifle, he still presented as balanced. Good masculine head and excellent bone.

2. Leary’s Menstonia Meridian Of Haslemount – Young male that was a finer type throughout than the class winner. Very sound on the move away and back. Ribcage needs to spring but I’m sure this will come. Held his outline so well as he went around the ring.

3. Mole & Knox’s Zara Florence Our Loyal Welsh At Edincrawl

Graduate (3,1)

1. Nyliram Let’s Twist Again

2. Madsprings Dragon From Priestbeck

Limit (4,2)

1. Lemin’s Bonvis Sweet Jasmine – 5yo bitch with a lovely feminine head, good outline when stood, clean neck, well laid shoulder, enough length and good muscletone. Moved well.

2. Mole & Knox’s Tammano Crawhall At Edincraw – 5 yo bitch who wasn’t really enjoying her day. Pretty, feminine head and overall a lovely type. Well angulated front and rear. Just lost her shape on the move.

Open (5,2)

1. Leary’s Sh Ch Menstonia Minty Of Haslemount – 7yo bitch whom I have judged in the past. Although she is starting to show her age in her face, she could not be denied this class for her pure breed type and sound movement. She presents a beautiful picture, is well constructed and very balanced. She was enjoying her day and never put a foot wrong. BOB

2. Ritchie’s Sarabande Eternity At Slapestones – Heavier set bitch than 1, I would prefer a slightly better lay of shoulder but rear angulation was good. Moved ok and kept her shape as she went. Shown in super condition.

3. Lemin’s Bonvis Fern
