COCKER SPANIELS

PD. 1. Williams’ Sensqui Blackout. Squarely and sturdily built with a level topline and excellent forehand giving plenty of dog in front. A very handsome and masculine head, clean in back skull with long, low set ears and a bright expression. Typical bustling action. BPD.

2. Davies’ Annaside Moon River. Nice type, square muzzle, kind dark eye, moderate length of neck, big ribs and good depth. Not as animated on the move as the winner.

3. Bayliss’ Penmartan Chatty Man for Wilanorah.

JD. 1. Barber-Ball’s Kalispell Couer de Lion. Compact & cobby b/r with a well balanced head, low ear set and a very kind expression. He is well boned, has depth and a good pro-sternum and stands on cat like feet with thick pads. Moves well.

2. MacFarlane’s Cooleela Heracles. Longer cast than the winner and tends to slope in topline when stacked. Tail set is higher than required but he has a good bend of stifle which he uses on the move. His head is very nice with good proportions and chiselling.

LD. 1. Todd & Rahman’s Chataway Hijacked. This is a very good dog indeed and a picture of moderation. His head is beautifully balanced with defined stop and his expression is so gentle. He has the best of fronts with a great return of upper arm, his body is compact and sturdy with big ribs and short loin. His hind quarters are well muscled with excellent second thigh development. Well off for bone and stands on good feet with thick pads. He maintains his level topline on the move and is very merry with it. I loved the texture of his coat which is flat and silky to the touch. BD. In the challenge for BOB he tended to pull away from his handler.

OD. 1. Tait’s Amaroanne Glory Days. Excellent in profile with a level topline, moderate neck set cleanly into shoulders, plenty of heart and lung room, short strong loin and slightly rounded rump. Hands on he is lighter boned and could have a better turn of stifle and I found him rather full in eye. But that said he has a pleasing head with a square muzzle, slightly rounded skull and depth throughout. On the move he was pulling to one side and so spoiled himself but his tail action was excellent.

PB. 1. Williams’ Sensqui Bonnylass. She presents a lovely outline being square and balanced all through. Her head is very pretty with a soft dark eye, she has a moderate length of neck with a lovely crest to it, is well angulated front and back with well sprung ribs, short back, and short loin. Moves with a good driving action. BPB and BPIB. I was thrilled to see her take BPIS.

2. MacFarlane’s Lochranza Precious Moment. Very raw in body, she needs time but her head is very pretty with a bright and merry expression.

GB. 1. Thomson’s Colenda Crackin Idea. A good typical bitch well off for bone with a moderate length of neck and good lay of shoulder. She has plenty of depth and heart room, broad hind quarters and a rounded bum. Moved well.

2. MacFarlane’s Cooleela Cressida. Good forehand, level topline with correct tail set but rather narrow in front. I preferred the head of the winner.

LB. 1. McCabe-Bell’s Grandtully Eliza Doolittle. She has a head to die for! Moderate length of neck, clean over the shoulders, good return of upper arm with well developed chest and thick pads. She holds her topline so well on the move and moves with strength and purpose. Very well handled and presented in gleaming black, silky coat. In the challenge for BB I had a hard time choosing between her and the winner of Open who I now see is her full sister. They are both just lovely.

2. Davies’ Annaside Starring Role. She is lovely on the move and looks so ‘cockery’ with her ever wagging tail. She is well made and compact and shown in beautiful silky coat and condition. She too has a lovely head but I just preferred that of the winner.

3. Thomson’s Colenda Chasing Shadows

OB. 1. Todd & Rahman’s Grandtully Gabrielle. I love everything about her from the tip of her beautiful head to the end of her well carried tail. In profile she simply flows; no lumps or bumps, just gorgeous curves. There is nothing flashy and yet there is an air about her that commands attention. She has fabulous front reach, good drive and covers the ground so very well. Beautifully presented and in the challenge for BOB put on the best performance. BB & BOB.

2. Thomson’s Colenda Chooseday. Well balanced and pretty head with defined stop and dark eye. She has strength in neck, well developed chest, big ribs and cat like feet.
