East Kent Canine Society Open Show 2nd February 2020

BORDER COLLIES

My thanks to EKCS for allowing me to judge and also my marvelous stewards who were very helpful, organized and on the ball. Generally, the entry moved well around the ring. I did, however, note a tendency to short tails – not very short but certainly not reaching the hock. On a better note, I was pleased that all the exhibits showed good temperaments. Judging was delayed for 20 minutes to allow late arrivals following a major problem on the A2 after an accident.

Puppy (1,1)

1st , RBoB, BP Moshanta May Contain Nuts JW this black and white dog puppy presented well enough to earn RBoB. He was alert, well-mannered with a nice temperament. He was well balanced and coupled which reflected in good movement around the ring, and parallel movement away and towards me.

Junior (0,1)

Post Graduate (5,2)

1st Foxbarton Royal Prince was well presented. He is fit with strong musculature on the stifles which were well angulated. The dog moved well and looked balanced as he did. He has good teeth and a level bite with lovely dark and well-shaped eyes.

2nd Vitala Chapter and Verse an alert B&W bitch with a nice head and good ears. She exhibited good side movement and a level top line. In close contention for 1st place but was not as tight as the dog in front movement. A little fitness training may well improve this.

3rd Sunnydean Chasing Rainbows

Open (6,2)

1st and BoB Tullacrest Signd Syld Deliverd this B&W dog stood out in the ring with strong bone and good stature. He is handsome with a sweet expression and tipped ears. He was very well groomed and presented. He is a good, solid and steady mover with a level topline and good feet.

2nd Birkcross Gracie at Lefevre is a B&W bitch that showed good steady movement. She has a sweet face with nicely tipped ears. Her body shape and glossy coat show that she is correctly fed.

3rd Alpana Strike a Pose
