Puppy (1,0)

1st Tolriver Enzo at Owlspoint

Smart young man who is nine months old and progressing in the right direction. I liked his head shape, not over done in any way, with correct divergent plains. Eyes need to darken a shade but should do this as he matures, ears of good length. Strong neck, front well made, super straight legs, decent lay back of shoulder and enough depth of chest for his age. Body of good proportions and quarters developing well with stifles well bent. Moved out well with decent footfall just a bit gangly at the moment. A promising youngster Best Puppy. Delighted to hear he later went Puppy Group 3, well deserved.

1st Tolriver Enzo at Owlspoint

2nd Braccorians Quick Look

Good overall shape, head is masculine, correct head planes. He has a good front assembly on him with shoulders well laid back and a good return of upper arm. Body of good overall proportions with a good spring to his rib and a firm loin. This lad had left his showing head at home and was giving his owner a tough time today. Took him a few attempts to get in to his stride on the move but when he did there was a decent action.

1st Owlspoint Trouble Again JW

Another smart one, just rising two years, presents with a square shape. Head and expression are pleasing with good divergent planes. He has a decent front assembly with good width between the shoulders and a decent return of upper arm. Stands on well boned legs. Good depth to chest for his age, ribs well sprung. Well made hindquarters with stifles well bent. Moved out well with a good stride and certainly enjoying himself in the ring today. I preferred the top-line of the open winner in the challenge.

1st Owlspoint Trouble at Mill ShCM ShCEX BWNL’18

A smart chap that I judged as a youngster and was pleased to see him here as the more mature article. He is now just two years old and put together nicely. Pleasing head shape, well developed with divergent plane with a masculine expression. Correct through the neck with super front assembly, shoulders sloping. Standing on well boned legs. Good through the body, ribs well sprung and correct depth of chest, just a shade long in loin. Well-made hindquarters and once he settled he had that typical elasticity in movement. Delighted to award him Best of Breed.

1st Ente Kommandant

Smart puppy, seven months old and developing nicely. Head is well proportioned with a good overall shape, eyes need to darken but should do that with age. Good length of neck in to well set shoulders and decent return of upper arm. Standing on straight, well boned legs. Ribs are well back into a firm loin. Quarters well proportioned with good angulation. Moved out well with a good profile action, needs to tighten up in front but will do that as he matures. Promising puppy with a lot to like about him. Best Puppy and delighted to hear he later was awarded Reserve Best Puppy in Show, many congratulations.

Wow this was a super class with two top flight exhibits, who it transpired were siblings.

1st Sh Ch Kimmax Knock Yourself Out JW ShCM

Last judged this chap as a youngster where he stood BIS3 under me, so thrilled to see him back as the more mature article and I see has now gained his title. Upstanding male who presents a balanced picture on the stack, he has good angles fore and aft, to me he excel in breed type. Head is well proportioned with the correct amount of furnishings. Strong neck in to well set shoulders with a decent return of upper arm. Ribs well sprung into a firm loin. Quarters well made with stifles well bent and well muscled. Harsh coat. Moved out well, it was a small ring so he didn’t really get to ‘open up’ but clearly had a good action driving from the rear.

2nd Sh Ch Kimmax Koz I Can

Little to separate this lady from her litter brother, again a super shape with excellent balance and overall proportions. Head of good shape and proportions and correct amount of furnishings, eye a good colour to give a feminine expression. Strong in neck in to a well assembled front, plenty of depth to her chest, ribs well sprung and back, loin firm, top line level. Quarters well made with a good bend of stifle. Coat harsh and of good texture. Moved well covering the ground, I was splitting hairs with the winner but just felt Knock Yourself Out had better front action today.

1st Ewtor Skyfall at Mindszenty

Lovely breed type on this chap he is very balanced and in proportion. Head of good shape, just a shade broad in back skull, pleasing eye. Neck leads in to well set shoulders, stands on well boned legs. Good depth of chest, body well made with good proportions and firm loin. Well developed quarters. He was with a runner on the move today and wasn’t at his best on the move, did enough for me to see his fluid action Best of Breed.

Retriever (Chesapeake Bay)

Puppy (1,0)

1st Pixierose Elderflower

This bitch was just six months and has a lovely shape about her. Her head is feminine and pleasing, eyes need to darken but that should happen as she matures. I liked her overall construction, firm through the neck which led into well placed shoulders. Stands on well boned legs and good feet. Body of good proportions, ribs need to spring but that will happen with time. Quarters well made for her age. Needs to find her feet on the move but will do that as she learns her job and gets more confidence. Best Puppy and Best of Breed. A good first show and good luck for the future with her.
