BIRMINGHAM KENNEL ASSOCIATION (BKA)

Limited Show 29/02/20

May I convey thanks to the Society for their invitation to judge, it was both an honour and a challenge to judge this 45 class show. I was delighted with my entry of 144, of which I found quality within the classes. Much appreciation to the exhibitors for allowing me to go over their beautiful dogs and accepting my decisions in a sporting manner. The majority of exhibits were presented in superb condition, a couple were a little overweight and some not quite so confident, hence not exhibiting their full potential on the day. But the opportunity to train and socialise the dogs was enjoyed by all.

The show is run almost as two shows from the Judges perspective – first half being classes 1 - 22 BKA Varieties, from this Best BKA Dog, Best BKA Bitch and overall Best BKA Variety is selected. The second half is then judged – classes 23 – 45. All unbeaten exhibits, from all classes (1 – 45) then compete for BIS, Res. BIS, BPIS, Res. BPIS and BVIS.

Thank you to my Steward Mrs Helen Hepple who worked tirelessly throughout the day keeping the ring running smoothly and Emma who gave back up support too.  Finally, the organisation and atmosphere of this show is to be commended - a very dedicated, hardworking committee, exhibitors who cheered each other on and congratulated each other. I enjoyed super hospitality and a lovely gift too. What an outstanding group of people – I am genuinely privileged – THANKYOU.
