Breed: Sloughi

Crufts  -  Sloughi

A small entry  echoing the current population in the showring at present, but what quality throughout.

1.Woodgate,Boggia & De Souza’s Schuru Esch Schams Xandu Khan (IMP),brought back many memories when writing out his name, as my own kennel was founded from stock from this highly influential kennel. This boy is such a quality representative of the breed and still so young I can see him developing into a fine young man. He has a beautifully balanced head with classic expression, eyeshape is correct and his skull is masculine but has the refinement required.Fine, nicely held ears.Good reach of neck, good width of front, still to settle into his front and mature through from his forechest to brisket.Good flat ribbing of correct depth and length.Crisp outline with correct croup and balanced hindquarters.Moved soundly with a light step.Best Dog and just lost out to the bitch on maturity.

OD & GCD(1,0)

1.Godfrey & Atkinson’s Sahsheer Ishara at Longhedge ShCM,slightly heavier build of good type.Masculine with well proportioned head, lovely eyeshape and expression with dark eye.Would like a shade more underjaw.Long reach of neck with strong front, well boned legs and feet of correct shape.Mature body with correct flat ribs and good depth of brisket.I like his width of hindquarters and the balance of his hindquarters. Moved soundly using all his body, just lacked a little sparkle today.RBD.

OB(3,0)

1.Clark’s Magida Sabiih Al Sahra at Thiefside (IMP) a more perfect match for my best dog could not have been found. This young lady is certainly out of the same mould as the male for quality, her head type is exactly the same, so representative with a nicely proportioned head, excellent planes.Classic eyeshape and expression with perfect placed ears of the finest texture. As with most girls she has a shade more angulation than the male and this anchored her front beautifully.Well boned down to lovely firm feet. She has a very shapely body, fully mature with a lovely spring of rib and well defined waist.Slightly deeper in body than I would like, but has a good underline with gentle tuck up.Well toned, muscled hindquarters stood with great strength and balance. To be very picky I would prefer her to be a shade longer in leg but today stood out for her quality and presence.BB & BOB.

2.Chapman-Damms’ Int/Dutch/Bel.Ch.Sahsheer Shiana Khali,my BOB last time I judged here and she still represents the high quality of our breed here.Classic head of lovely type and balance, her eye has darkened since I last judged her which finishes it off beautifully.Different type to 1 and feminine with fineness of muscle.Lovely outline with sculpted body, moved a little closer behind today, but earned this place easily.RBB

3.Marcori’s IT/Fr/Slo/Hru Ch.Magistere Maik at Vardamak, totally different again in type, feminine of finer and taller build.Long head, would like more width to skull and strength in foreface.Straighter in angulation both in front and hindquarters, typical of this type.Nicely shaped body with flat ribbing and good depth of brisket. Unfortunately, was a little nervous and would not be handled for further evaluation, a point in our breed standard.
