Crufts

Breed: Cirneco Dell'Etna

Crufts - Cirneco Dell’Etna

I was looking forward to judging this Breed enormously having followed their progress.A strong entry of 25 with plenty of decisions to be made.I do prefer a more working type that still retains elegance I hope the Breeders can maintain this correct balance and not be drawn to a flashy show dog.

VD(1,0)

1.Connatty & Moughton’s Hadranensis Ulivo (IMP) good size with masculine, balanced head.Ears could be a  little stronger but well proportioned to head.Moderate layback to shoulder, good width to front, well boned, correct feet.Correct depth of brisket, well developed over loin dropping into balanced hqs.Moved with width and soundness.BV

JD(1,0)

1.Farleigh & McDonnell’s Kinabula’s Milano with Triquetra, taller mould has very typy head with lovely eyeshape and set, high set ears.Fairly long foreface.Good reach of neck and correct shorter upper arm angulation than shoulder.Well bodied with smooth underline and topline to match.Moved soundly.

PGD(5,2)

1.Taylor’s Teyora Ronco, headed a very mixed class in type.Well sized with good overall shape.Masculine head of shorter type and slightly stronger in skull.Good ear carriage, eyes could be more oval.Scored well in body proportions and shape, good ribbing and underline.Strong topline down to croup.moved soundly.RBD

2.McDonnell’s Kinabula’s Macchiato for Triquetra, typier in head and liked ear carriage and shape.Rounder eyeshape and not as positive in front movement.Slightly longer cast in body but good drop of croup to well defined hocks.

3.Warren’s Kinabula’s Marocchino at Shantih.

OD(6,0)

1.Farleigh’s Kinabula’s Tonioli, very typy male of good quality, preferred his type and elegance and certainly is streets ahead in head qualities both in proportions, ear carriage and expression and receding chin.In prime condition with good body shape and underline.Would prefer a shade more shoulder angulation to define his front balance but overall gives a complete picture.BOB & BD.

2.Toni’s Ch.Ziggy, totally different type of smaller size and more workmanlike in stature.Stronger in skull which detracted from his expression.Strongly made with excellent muscle tone.A little wide in front and elbows could be neater.Good square outline and strong topline but higher set croup and tail was carried higher than I would like.Moved soundly.

3.Gavrish’s Mia Santo’s King Jest.

GCD(1,0)

1.Didio’s Kinabula’s Forlani of Kushka, elangantly built of good square outline.A little stronger in skull and rounder in eye, ears could be stronger.Nicely shaped body with strong legs and feet.Well muscled topline, short croup and lacked hind extension on the move but was sound enough.

VB(1,0)

1.Whitworth’s Anharbn’s Clementine, almost 9 years old and has good head proportions and fine ear texture.Nicely constructed with good angles, well boned legs feet could be tighter.Strong topline and short croup.moved with good reach, correct working coat.

JB(2,0)

1.Farleigh’s Kinabula’s Florentine, good size, feminine head a little round in eye but good skull shape and correct ears.Good bone substance, well developed body, steep croup.Moved with good extension still to settle.

2.Anderson & White’s Cyrenensis Khaleesi of Whitglen(IMP) different head type and still has to develop in head, would like a shade more underjaw.Well set ears and overall square outline with good ribbing.Correct underline and nicely set hqs.Needs to mature and settle in movement.

PGB(3,0)

1.Smith’s Hadranensis  Traviata (IMP) this bitch is really my ideal Cirneco,of good working type and size.Well boned with correct working feet, oval and well padded.Love her head type and the maturity and flow to her body. She moved soundly but lacked a little muscle tone, but for me stood out in the bitches. BB.

2.Taylor’s Nara, similar in type and size but lacks a little scope compared to 1.Feminine head with good expression, not quite reach of neck of 1.Well bodied with good topline and underline.Good legs and feet.Broad loin dropping down to hqs, moved well.RBB

3.Farleigh’s Tute Sweet Mocha.

OB(3,1)

1.Farleigh & McDonnell’s  Kinabula’s Amoretta at Triquetra, elegant bitch of square proportions.Feminine head of shorter type but inkeeping length and correct ears.Well arched neck maybe could be let into front more  smoothly. Would like better layback of shoulder but was stronger in front than 2 both standing and on the move.

2.Farleigh’s Kinabula’s Majolica, finer, very feminine  type. She is certainly of ‘elegance and slender build’ but I would like a little more substance in bone and more flexibility in her makeup for a working hound.Has  many good breed points and has great appeal.

3.Ayling’s Hadranensis Cher (IMP)
