Boston & District Canine Society 2020 Rhodesian Ridgebacks

I must first of all thank the committee for my invite and the care that was taken by my very capable stewards and of course to all the exhibitors who entrusted me with their dogs. On the whole I have to say the quality of my entry was excellent, there are some variations in size and movement, but in the larger classes there were un-placed dogs of good quality due to the size of the entry. In all my top placements, ridges and mouths were excellent so I will not comment further on these.

Minor Puppy Dog. 7/3

1st Storey & Piehl’s Kiromol Heaven Can Wait (AI)

6 Month old puppy with a beautiful head and expression, good length of neck correct front, width and fore chest. Correct length of body with balanced rear end to front. Moved the best in the class with good reach and drive without being exaggerated. A very happy but settled youngster. BPD.

2nd Plested’s Tokwe The Hunt Is On At Nzawi.

Really nice promising puppy with good bone and substance, needs to firm up in front but I see from my catalogue that his Dad who I had in Open and reminds me so much of, with very similar qualities that he will develop into a very nice dog with time, as he has all the quality there.

3rd Wigglesworth’s Ranginui Great Expectation

Puppy Dog. 4/2

1st Broadsmith’s Nyangoma Dream On Bobby Brown At Chainama (IMP DEU)

Red wheaten who is very striking. A tall puppy who has a good top line and under line with good feet and bone. Moved well in profile once settled. I would like more infill of chest.

2nd Blyth’s Priorpark Piece of Cake.

Similar in build to 1st. A very nice head eye and ear set, good length of neck leading to a good top line. Enough width throughout with adequate substance. Didn’t move as settled as 1st but I am sure this will come.

Junior Dog. 5/0

1st White’s Carlincox Gold Star.

Instantly took my eye in the ring. Shapely male with a lovely silhouette. This male has all the angles without being over done in any way, moved very precise coming and going and not flashy in profile but with the right amount of reach. Had he been a bit more mature then he would have been pushing hard for greater awards.

2nd Timms Carlincox Solid Gold

I see this male is litter brother to 1st. However this Red Wheaten is very different, still with qualities I like and certainly has a presence in the ring with good positive movement and a pleasing overall shape that is hard to ignore.

3rd Dickson’s Globalridge.

Yearling Dog 6/0

1st White’s Carlincox Gold Star.

2nd Anthony’s Rottzridge I Am Rath.

A very impressive red Wheaten who is a joy to go over with a fabulous body, front and fore chest, very good spring of rib and very strong through the loin and strong back. Bone excellent. A very well balanced male who I am sure as 1st will go on to win higher awards..

3rd Ashman’s Patemeliann Red Tarka At Kitaarka

Post Graduate Dog 5/1

1st Willunat’s Shavano’s Quality Of Life By Oliver (IMP NOR)

Very nicely proportioned male who has a very good head, length of neck, lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. A good fore chest spring of rib and depth of body. Correct length of loin with a good bend of stifle and excellent second thigh. A lot to like about this male who must have a very bright future.

2nd Vincent’s Imola I’m Your Man At Jematti.

Larger male, well bodied and shown in great condition. Good fore chest and very strong in body, through rib cage, loin and rear end. Moved very true coming and going although he could have done with a bigger space to show his movement. Still has a lot of maturing to do I felt.

3rd Barnes Diamondridge Di Caprio.

Limit Dog 4/2

1st Maidment’s Amahle Alo.

Quite a compact dog who is well muscled throughout. A very nice head with kind expression and lovely proportions. Good length of neck and front assembly that is well balanced to rear. A correct width through his body who on the move is very sound and correct without being exaggerated in anyway.

2nd Barnard’s Carlincox First Encounter.

A red wheaten male who has a lovely head and expression. Shown and presented superbly in immaculate condition, a very good strong body who is really showing his maturity. On the move he doesn’t put a foot wrong and moves with ease and is very correct coming and going with his excellent feet that are surprisingly light on the ground for such a strong dog.

Open Dog 15/2

1st Greeves & Craven’s Hespa Hermes JW.

A male who is proportioned superbly. He is very masculine without being heavy or overdone. Strong neck leading into well laid shoulders good return of upper arm, width of front and depth of chest. Good straight fore legs with very good feet. Strong in loin with a good tail set. Very good rear construction with a good bend of stifle and second thigh. Moved with ease and looked outstanding in profile. With just the right amount of weight and muscle the overall picture was superb. CC BOB

2nd Wilding & Deacon’s CH Kiromol Kindred Spirit ShCm

Very different dog to 1st, however has so many qualities I like. Well boned and bodied, very strong in front with excellent fore chest and shoulder construction. Very well muscled with a strong back end who shows all this strength on the move to show a solid dog who shows how worthy he is of his title. RCC

3rd Catharell’s CH Faahac Free N’easy JW ShCm

Veteran Dog 7/2

1st Barnard’s Ch Jockular lord Leonti At Tsjakka (IMP NED)JW

I think everything has been said about this dog already. However here he is as a Veteran and he still has all the qualities in his construction and build and indeed is still sure footed on the move even extending out as he did as a youngster but with a little less enthusiasm. BVD

2nd Pyke & Brooker’s Ch Rozelridge Who The Man ShCm

A very nicely constructed dog that although approaching 9 years of age is still capable of moving to a good standard. Very good front construction with a deep chest excellent top line and balanced rear quarters. Still showing good muscle definition throughout. A very pleasing head that also belies his age.

3rd Barnard’s Neketona Red Maple.

Special Beginners Dog 2/0

1st Blyth’s Priorpark Piece Of Cake..

2nd Bowers Celtic Lore’s Golden Archer At Lyonglen (IMP USA)

Livernose Male. Nice head and kind expression. Good feet, moved soundly. Needs to body up and mature to show his full potential

Good Citizen 2/0

1st Bowers Celtic Lore’s Golden Archer At Lyonglen (IMP USA)

Minor Puppy Bitch 8/4

1st Mrs E Taylor Tokwe Truly A Blessing

A very nice wheaten girl who has got a lovely shape. A good length of body and also width. Nice correct front with a good infill in front with just a nice amount of substance. I wouldn’t want any more bone than she has. On the move she kept quite settled to show very good soundness in the ring that showed off her construction.

2nd Storey & piehl’s Kiromol Tip Toe And Go

Another quality puppy. She has a lovely head, eye and ear set, good length of neck, excellent return of upper arm and lay of shoulder, her rear quarters are very nicely balanced to her front and she did move well but not as settled as 1st Still so young and she was very happy so it is difficult having to penalise but I am sure she will have an exciting future.

3rd Connelly & Mumford Mutuma Minnie

Puppy Bitch 6/1

1st Carlton & Hale’s Umhlandla Isonto.

A very nicely bodied puppy who has good substance throughout. A feminine head, good front, underline and top line very good. On the move she impressed despite being fidgety, it was clear to see her movement. Very nice in profile.

2nd Parsons Priorpark pinch Of Salt.

Another very good quality puppy who is a little finer than 1st but very pretty with a lovely shape, moved to her advantage keeping her top line on the move. Well balanced in her build I felt

3rd Mills Priorpark Playing It By Ear For Nzuri

Junior Bitch 12/2

1st Farleigh’s Kinabula’s Gucci Bloom.

I loved this youngster as soon as I saw her. For me she is a beautiful colour Wheaten that really shows off her outline. A very nice head with good proportions, length of neck, upper arm, lay of shoulder and depth of body all excellent. Her rear construction is much the same. On the move she was a joy to watch. Just lacking maturity otherwise she could have seen top honours. RCC

2nd Parsons Priorpark Pot Kettle Black.

A lovely puppy who was giving away some of her younger age to the 1st. A very promising puppy who has a very pretty head with a very nice front construction and body that I really liked. I wouldn’t want any more rear angulation than she has. Moved very well. Very well presented. BPIB

3rd Harwood Carlincox Golden Touch.

Yearling Bitch 9/0

1st Parker’s Kiromol As You Like It With Azuli JW

This girl has the prettiest of heads but without losing the strengths a Ridgeback head needs. Lovely length of body with good top line and under line with a good length of neck. Enough depth of brisket and balanced angles makes a great picture in profile, still more maturity to come.

2nd Cox’s Carlincox Pure Gold JW

A striking quality bitch. Good front and fore chest bone and substance throughout. Very good length of body and loin with a rear end construction balanced to front. Moved very true.

Post Graduate Bitch 11/1

1st Coyne’s Ozubi’s Patience JW

Very pretty feminine wheaten bitch who although being very feminine has all the desired bone and substance. Loved her construction and quality with a very good front assembly, good feet and pasterns. A pleasing overall shape that is a pleasure to watch on the move as she holds her shape and top line superbly. I feel she will improve more with maturity.

2nd Hicks Nuthouse Queen Of Clubs JW

A very nice bitch who has good depth and length of body. On the move she excels with a good positive action coming and going, in profile she is also a joy to watch. The handler stood her freely and as her construction would suggest she stood very correct and square.

3rd Nash’s Mutoko’s Blaze Of Glory

Limit Bitch 14/3

1st Parsons Priorpark Pipsicle

A light wheaten bitch who is showing maturity and up against some very tough competition. Nicely constructed and loved her on the move with an effortless stride and in good harmony with handler. I liked her bone, body has a very nice shape with enough tuck up and a top line that gives a very nice overall picture with excellent length of neck.

2nd Cyprien’s Shavano’s Quality Of Life By Indie JW (IMP NOR)

I see this bitch is litter sister to my Post grad Dog class winner. She shows much the same attributes to him with a strongly built frame and excellent construction in her shoulder and stifle giving a very correct and balanced dog with an excellent body to match. Moved with purpose and certainly has a presence in the ring that is hard to ignore. Lacking maturity for this class really but such is her quality that she was placed in a very strong class.

3rd Simmons Simangele Cascara

Open Bitch 13/4

1st Storey & Piehl’s CH Kiromol Midsummer Spirit JW

An even stronger class than limit with a wide spread of quality. This bitch is of superb quality with strong bone and body with construction to go with it. An excellent front assembly with very good return of upper arm and lay of shoulder with good fore chest and width throughout well ribbed back excellent hind quarters and feet. Her head match’s her build with an excellent round eye and good ear set. On the move she excels. CC

2nd Cox’s CH Carlincox First Class JW ShCm Shcex

Very nice quality bitch who is very pretty and striking in the ring. Lighter built than 1st but with all the qualities required in build and bone. Good length of neck and coupling with good sloping shoulders, a very good body with correct length of loin leading into balanced rear quarters to front. On the move she holds her shape very nicely with good drive and extension.

3rd Catley & Mcgimpsey’s CH Diamond Roll The Dice For Royalridge JW

Veteran Bitch 5/1

1st Catharell’s Kitoko Mabel

Shown in superb condition for her 8 ½ year age. Nice shapley bitch with the kindest of expressions, still with good muscle toning and holding a good top line on the move. A little wide in her front construction but otherwise good front assembly body and required rear angulation. BV

2nd Darling’s Sharufa Shadowing James ShCm

Nicely constructed bitch who can still move with precision and drive. Nicely proportioned but under carriage not as tight as 1st very well balanced.

3rd Shaw’s Ch Makibos Kilimalemrika Of Negasi ShCm

A very nice quality puppy with a good body fore chest and front. Nicely ribbed back with enough width throughout. Moved well despite being a little unsettled although remained happy and confident which is nice to see in one so young.
