Crufts.  Toy Poodles 

I was asked with less than an hour before judging to take over Cathy Lawton-Anderson’s entry as she was unwell. I know we will all wish her a speedy recover. As a former exhibitor I know how disappointing a change can be, however most seemed to sportingly carry on. For me it was a huge pleasure to judge such a wonderful entry.  

Veteran  D(1) 

  1st   UKR CH ELEN ELF AGENT PROVOCATEUR [ATC AX00388DEU] (MRS A SILANTYEVA) 

9 yrs apricot in v good form. Masc head with dark eye, clean cheeks. He has a medium neck, slightly forward in shoulder. Well sprung ribs, going well back. Rear matches his front. Accurate mover with a lengthy stride and plenty of style. BV 

Puppy d (3) 

1st   AFTERGLOW HOME JAMES TO BRYRON (MR M & MR R HODGE & MCAULEY) 

Promising pup who put up a v good performance. Masc head, slightly broad in skull. Dark eyes. Lengthy neck with a well laid shoulder. Firm topline. Moderate hind angulation. Low hocks. Can just firm in front action. 

2nd   AFTERGLOW DUNCAN BISCUIT (MS M C MCCONNAUGHY) 

Shapely d who wasn’t as enthusiastic on the move as 1. He has a pleasing, masc head. Well balanced in his angulation. Well ribbed and correct topline and tailset. 

3rd   MICADOR BAND OF GOLD ON GODPEAKIKI (MR C & MR I GODFREY & PEACOCK) 

Junior d (5) 

 1st   AFTERGLOW ACTION MAN (MRS R WELLS) 

Liked the proportions of this compact black. Would prefer a slightly longer head. V good eye and expression. Enough neck. Slightly forward in shoulder but a long, sloping upper arm. Well bodied. Correct topline. Well made rear. V typical mover. 

2nd   STEEL THORN MAX FACTOR (MR HUYTON) 

This d is v well made and a v good mover, but could make a little more of himself. Could have better pigment and a finer skull. Enough neck. Well sprung ribs. Balanced angles. 

3rd   AFTERGLOW JAMES BLOND (MRS A BAX)

1st   TUTTLEBEES DEVILS AFFAIR (MRS A M CORISH) 

Liked his shape, which he holds on the move and goes with typical poodle style. Best head in class. He has a lengthy neck. Quite a good front with a well filled chest. Short back. Well ribbed. Enough hind angulation. 

2nd   JUWLRI ICE KING (MRS J A BARRETT) 

This is a well made d and v sound, could just show more enthusiasm. Lengthy head. Dark eye. Enough neck. Feet could be better. Well set tail. 

3rd   AEDAN THE LITTLE DEVIL AT VALETTA (MISS V M DUNN) 

Limit d (5,1) 

1st   STEPANELLE SPECIAL BRANCH (MR S R & MRS L P LAND) 

Well put together d, best front in class. He has a lengthy head with good eyes. Long neck. Well filled front with good depth of chest. Well ribbed. God turn of stifle with low hocks. Well set tail. Moved well. 

2nd   VALETTA ALL ABOUT LOVE (MISS V M DUNN) 

Quite a good head. He has enough neck. Slightly better front and feet than 3. Well angulated rear and low hocks but doesn’t move as well behind as he is made. Correct topline. 

3rd   TRANDELLA LOVE THE LOOK SHCM (MISS A J THOMPSON)

Super class. 

 1st   ELSTO WINNIE THE POOH NORDW'19 [ATC AW02228NOR] (MRS E STORESUND) 

Thought him quite lovely. Super shape, well made under that well presented coat and a v good mover. He has a long, masc head. Clean enough in skull. Long neck. Well laid shoulder with slope to upper arm. Super body and rib. Correct topline. Well angulated rear. Went so v well. CC & BOB 

2nd   CH DIVINING ROD'S HAPPY EVER AFTERGLOW (IMP FIN) (MR T & MR J ISHERWOOD & LYNN) 

Really compact d with a super head. Dark eye with good expression. He has a lengthy neck. Not quite the front of 1. Well ribbed. Well bent stifle. Could just carry his tail better. Shows with great enthusiasm. RCC 

3rd   CH NASAILLEEN A MILLION DREAMS AT TIRKANE (MISS L & MISS K BRYANT & RYAN)

1st   ALEXHIAN NOW YOU SEE ME (MRS H TODD) 

Compact b with the best head in class. V fem. Super eye and pigment. Lengthy neck. Quite a good front. Well ribbed. Good rear.  

2nd   CANPARR HI CLASS LADY (MRS C & MR N PARR) 

Liked her proportions. Not the head of 1. She has a long neck. Balanced in her angulation, and so moved out with a good stride. Firm topline. 

3rd   SHAWBAY ALL THAT JAZZ (MRS L BALDERSTONE) 

Puppy b (7,3) 

 1st   TARJA- F DI FOSCALBERTO (IMP IT) (MR T ISHERWOOD) 

Very promising and so full of attitude. She has a fem head, long and clean. Would prefer better eyes. Good neck. Could have more front angulation and can firm in front action. Super body. Correct topline. V good rear. BP on her longer stride and attitude. 

2nd   AFTERGLOW DOLLYBIRD (MR R & MRS B, MR J MATTHEWS & LYNN) 

Liked her proportions v much. She is a good mover just a bit unsettled going around with the others. Liked her head. Long neck. Forward shoulder but a long, sloping upper arm. V good body. Enough hind angulation. 

3rd Steelthorn Madam Fifi avec Taylortowho (Mr & Mrs Millington) 

Junior b (9 ,1) 

1st   AFTERGLOW I TONYA ( M, S, T, M & J OEVERING, WITTERS, ISHERWOOD, GADS) 

Lovely junior b, so well made and has a super length of stride. Could be slightly more fem in head. She has a long neck. Really good front with a well laid shoulder and long, sloping upper arm. Can firm up coming towards. Super body. Correct topline. Well made rear. Liked her carriage. RCC 

2nd   AFTERGLOW TOMISHA (MRS J EDMONDSON) 

Liked her shape, well up on leg with a short back. Liked her head. Long neck. Not the front angulation or stride of 1. Super topline. Well bent stifle and low hocks. Full of personality. 

3rd   AFTERGLOW JEMIMA PUDLEDUCK (MRS V A HOLLIDAY) 

Post grad b (19,6) 

 1st   DONAVIKA EASTER BUNNY (MRS T DAVIES) 

Well made b with a v good front. Would like a finer skull. Darkest of eyes. Long neck. She has a well filled front. Correct topline. Well made rear. Good honest sort of b. 

2nd   LANGSTRATH LIVING THE DREAM (MRS S OLDFIELD) 

Liked her shape and proportions, she has a pleasing head. Dark eyes. Lengthy neck. Just a bit forward in front. Grand body and rib, good topline, a bit moderate in her hind angulation. 

3rd   TOYDOM TAPESTRY (MRS Y & MISS A RAWLEY & SUMMERS)

1st   INAPATS EXQUISITE JEWEL AT ALDERRABEL (IMP RUS) (MRS B & MISS S GODFREY) 

Fairly comfortable winner of this class. She has a well made front and is v accurate coming towards. Well bodied. Liked her proportions. Could be firmer going away. V typical side action. 

2nd   AEDAN PILLOW TALK AT KEELMARA (MISS J M KEELING) 

Liked her outline. Not quite the front of 1. She is fem in head with a dark eye. Well ribbed, but just a fraction long. Well bent stifle and low hocks. Went v well. 

3rd   TRAHEMLEYS GLITTERATI (MRS A BAX)

1st   EVAKS DAY BY DAY [ATC AX00069RUS] (MR T N FERREIRA DOS SANTOS) 

Really liked the shape of this b, nicely up on leg and short in back. She has a lengthy and fem head. Long neck. Better shoulder than 2 and is slightly better coming towards. Super body. Well made rear. Went so v well. Could just have a better tail. CC 

2nd   CH NASAILLEEN THIS IS ME AT TIRKANE (MISS L & MISS K BRYANT & RYAN) 

Lovely b, I liked her proportions. She too has a pleasing head with dark eyes. Long neck. Could be slightly tighter in elbow. Super body. Well made rear. V good in profile. 

3rd   JKC CH SMASH JP TIK TOK [ATC AW01140JPN] (MR T OMURA) 

Good citizen b (6,3) 

 1st   AFTERGLOW POLLY POCKET AVEC FINGOLFIN (MRS B M WINNINGTON) 

Most accurate mover of these 3. Fem b. Pleasing head, she hasenough neck. She is well balanced and had a good body. 

2nd   AEDAN TALK OF MAKING MUSIC (MISS C BELL) 

Liked her proportions, could just be a bit firmer in front. Pretty head. Liked her balance and attitude. 

3rd   BIELCEE MINT JULEP (MISS I & MRS E M DUNKELD)
