Irish wolfhounds 

Whilst i am not a breed specialist i have been fortunate to have judged the breed with CC’s on a few occasions now and feel that the quality has deteriorated since the last time i judged. Gracefulness, the correct proportions and soundness were lacking in a number of classes. That said i was very happy with my principle winners and felt my BOB is a truly beautiful balanced example of the breed and im sure will be appreciated my many in the future.

mixed class with various sizes/shapes. Well balanced skull, good length, neat ears, clean neck and shoulders, needs to come up on leg, holds topline well , moderate rear, steady mover, just raw and needs time 

2nd: 3140 FOX Mrs A Newdigate Marlon Brando 

tall upstanding male, strong bone, masculine head with length, tight feet, needs to drop in chest, a little straight in shoulder, exc coat, good carriage once settled.

masculine dog, nice exp, has strength in foreface, slight stop, muscular neck and shoulder, deep chest, a little loose in elbow, prefer better layback, exc coat and condition, moderate rear with low set hocks, good tailset

well made dog all through with good substance and strength, strong masculine head, ok in ear, clean neck and shoulders, straight forelegs, balanced outline, lovely strong rear, active elegant mover.

slightly taller stationed dog, lean skull, ideally like more strength all through for me, tight feet, needs more fill in front and rib, well proportioned body, good croup and tail length. Preferred front on winner

nicely balanced male, lovely proportions, skull ok, muzzle could be a built stronger ,oval eye, neat ears, feet a little flat, curvy outline with no exaggeration, well ribbed up, exc harsh coat , moderate rear, moves well in profile showing power and grace, nice type, super condition

2nd: 3136 DAWSON Mrs S Austonley's Falcon of Shalico JW 

liked this dog and not much between these 2, lovely head piece, slight stop,neat ears, exc front assembly, neat hard, feet, just preferred leg length of winner, holds shape on the move, muscled loin, low set hocks, another easy mover in profile.

lovely class, winner is so balanced with strength, substance and not overdone in any way, super head and exp, ears could be neater, exc feet, bone, shoulders, deep chest, curvy outline, strong short loin, agile mover, liked his profile

2nd: 3137 FINNEY, Mr T & Mrs M & FINNEY Mr I Ir Ch Isnalera Gimme Shelter At Gulliagh 

another well made balanced dog with many virtues, lean skull, level head planes with slight stop, good reach of neck, exc feet, ok depth of chest, belly tucked up, little longer in loin than 1, uses his rear well o the move. 2 nice dogs, just preferred the body on winner.

mixed class like PD, Winner had best proportions, clean balanced curvy unexaggerated outline, good length of skull with strength whilst retaining a feminine look, straight forelegs, long neck, exc feet, not totally settled at the start but once she settled she is good mover, lovely type.

similar shape and style of winner, liked her head and skull, strong neck, ribs extend well back, curvy outline, not as settled in front as 1 but again nice type.

finer bitch all through than 1, level head planes , long neck, liked her leg length, needs more fill in body and chest, exc coat, ok rear, tail of good lenbgth, just preffered carriage of 1 on the move.

A beautiful bitch, such correct proportions and balance, she has good length to her skull, head planes correct with raised brow,muscular long neck, the best front assembly of the day, deep chest and fill in front, effortless mover who has gentle curves to her and exc footfall, love her type, felt she was a standout today and whilst she is not fully mature everything is in the right place and i have no doubt she has a bright future..

another nicely made bitch, good length of skull, ears could be better, deep chest, arched loins, ok feet, prefer more leg length, exc harsh coat, low set hocks, covers the ground well on the move,
