Boston & DCS 10 January 2020 

My thanks to the Society for the invitation to Judge at their well-run & friendly show & also to my exhibitors, who gave me the privilege of the largest entry. To judge so many quality dogs is a real honour & most classes were of an extremely high standard. I notice that leg length & weight seem to be being addressed & most forelegs & hocks were straight with no sign of weakness which is good for the future. My stewards too deserve many thanks for keeping everything running so smoothly, they did an excellent job!

1ST Vermander & Adam SHARPSHOOTER THE LEGEND OF SUNSHINE'S VALLEY [ATC BEL]  

Eye catching 7 month old puppy in full profuse pale coat & who is all male without any hint of coarseness. Good head shape with a kind eye & expression, superb topline, front & rear angles perfectly balanced, good breadth of thigh & strength over the loin. Very good length of leg & neat feet. This conformation together with good condition means he excels on the move. His sympathetic handler really gets the best out of him showing his easy, effortless driving action to great advantage. I’m sure he has a great future ahead.  

2ND Trinder & Zubair THORNYWAIT RUFFINO  

Very smart mid gold puppy dog with plenty of substance & in full coat. Attractive well chiseled head with dark pigment, super topline & front assembly, straight forelegs well under his body & standing on cat like well-padded feet. Good spring of rib, short couplings, good rear angles & tail set. He covered the ground easily was very well presented & handled. Lovely prospect for the future.

Very taken with this beautifully presented pale boy. Balanced in profile, excellent topline & length of leg he has strength without coarseness, not overdone in any way. Attractive male head, dark eye & pigment, well laid back shoulder & good length of upper arm, good topline, plenty of power in his rear quarters & well let down straight hocks. Quietly handled to advantage his movement was precise both coming & going away with a good driving action.  Maturity gave him the deciding advantage over the lovely minor puppy dog winner, so very pleased to award him BPD 

2ND Golder  GEMBAEK'S PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC (IMP DK)  

Super mid gold 10 month old sweet boy who is well off for bone & has so much yet to come as you would expect at this age. Loved his head, straight forelegs, neat feet & front assembly. Excellent dead level topline, good tail set & strong well let down hocks. His movement is ground covering, steady & true both ways, beautifully presented & sympathetically handled I will follow him with interest.

1ST Wallington WYNRITA SCHOOL DAZE  

Topping another lovely class of young males this boy was shown in fabulous mid gold gleaming coat & in super condition. At the top end of the junior age range he has a classic Golden outline, attractive male head, well chiseled & with lovely expression, strong well set on neck, balanced front & rear angles, powerful well-muscled rear quarters & good feet. He moved effortlessly with great drive & holding his strong topline, loved him.  

2ND Loverock & Waldron-Smith THORNYWAIT SPACE COWBOY AT LOVISSA JW  

Close up to my winner this cracking 14 month old mid gold young man is very balanced in profile with correct leg to body ratio. So well made throughout with a gentle masculine head, excellent pigment, straight forelegs with good bone, neat well-padded feet. Dead level topline & good quarters matching his front angulation. He was always standing four square whenever I looked & this balance together with correct condition meant he was able to move well around the ring. Very little to split these two boys so the slightly more finished boy took top spot.

Pale dog with the most gorgeous head & expression so attentive to his handler. Loved his happy nature. Shown in well-presented coat & good condition he has good bone & leg length a straight front & stands on excellent feet. He has good spring of rib with strength over the loin & a level topline. Rear quarters are of the correct angulation with straight hocks. He held his topline on the move & has a good free flowing driving action 

2ND Kinchella HONEYMILL ELDER WARRIOR 

Compact short coupled mid gold boy with gentle, well-shaped masculine head & good pigment. Loved his “want to please expression” Free standing he was always four square has good layback of shoulder & return of upper arm straight front & neat feet. Level topline, good tail set & length of tail with well let down hocks. Carrying the correct amount of weight, shown in beautiful well-presented coat & condition I liked his effortless driving movement holding that topline.

1ST Wild QUAKERHALL SEA MASTER BY BLUEWATERS JW  

Compact mid gold boy who was so well presented & handled & has great ring presence. Shown in good coat he has a gentle head with excellent pigment, correctly angled forequarters, is deep through the ribs & is strong over the loin with good muscle tone. Such a happy dog which showed in that ever wagging tail. Loved him on the move, his correct conformation gave him enthusiastic ground covering action; I would think he could work all day.  

2ND O'Gorman BERRYMEADE GRAND CENTRAL JW  

Close up to 1 & maturing nicely this dog has a gorgeous head with excellent pigment. Classic outline with well laid back clean shoulders & good return of upper arm, plenty of heart room with depth to the ribs. His rear quarters are very well muscled giving him power from behind. Hocks are well let down & straight. Another with that happy outgoing nature & who is clearly at one with his excellent handler, they present a great team on the move where he comes into his own making easy work of the large ring.

1ST Randall KELVERQUEST PORTLAND BILL JW  

Mid gold dog of super breed type & shown in very well presented good coat. Kind, masculine head with good breadth of skull. Well laid back shoulders, good upper arm, straight forelegs with good bone, plenty of heart room, good spring of rib & short couplings. He has well-muscled hind quarters with good turn of stifle & neat hocks. Lovely to watch on the move, where his footfall is positive, accurate & on an easy stride. He made excellent use of the big ring covering it in style 

2ND Angell MILLANZA TOY STORY JW  

Compact very attractive pale dog shown in profuse well-presented coat & naturally freestanding placing himself four square showing his balanced outline very well.. Really lovely male head, good length of neck well set on & flowing into well laid back shoulders with correct upper arm. Good body proportions with dead level topline, excellent spring of rib & plenty of strength in his rear quarters. Well presented & handled he was a pleasure to watch on the move & was a very close contender for 1st place.

I really thought this gold dog stood out in his fabulous class today. He has a gorgeous head & expression with good pigment, is well balanced front & rear presenting a classic Golden outline, nothing at all overdone & carrying the right amount of weight. He has straight forelegs of good length & stands on neat feet, a strong level topline which is held perfectly on the move. His coat was gleaming & presented to perfection, the contrast with gold & cream feathering is very attractive. His rear quarters compliment his excellent front assembly & he moved happily around the ring with an easy free stride. A close contender for the CC I was more than happy to award him the RDCC 

2ND White  FORBENDALE ICE BEAR  

A contrast in the colour range to my first dog, this well balanced boy had a beautifully presented pale coat & was in excellent condition. He has the loveliest head with dark eye & good pigment. He has a reachy neck flowing into well laid back shoulders, straight forelegs, dead level topline & strong quarters with good leg length. Quietly & sympathetically handled he moved around the ring with a very good length of stride, good driving action from the rear & with good head carriage.

My star of the day! This lovely 4 year old dog is all male, full of breed type & has such ring presence. He is very balanced in profile & shows strength without being coarse. He has a beautiful head with melting expression & good depth of muzzle. Front & rear quarters are both of the correct angulation, his neck flows into excellent shoulder layback, he has a good spring of rib, elbows well tucked in, short couplings, strength over the loin & well let down hocks. His tail is well set on & carried level with his topline. His coat was prepared very well & in good condition. On the move he came into his own, he has a free & easy stride, holds his topline & has good head carriage covering the ground with ease & totally at one with his proficient handler. No surprise that he is a champion & I was more than pleased to award him the DCC & BOB 

2ND Gerhold JAYMARDY INDIGO PACIFIC JW  

Stylish compact cream dog so very well handled & presented & shown in good coat & condition. Another one who is all male but without any sign of coarseness. With excellent bone & standing on very neat feet he has good head shape & expression, balanced outline, dead level topline; he is correctly angulated fore & aft, deep through the ribs & with powerful rear quarters. On the move he has reach & drive from neat hocks & carried his tail well.

I don’t think there is much I can add to the accolades this wonderful dog has collected. Now 8 years old he has a superb outline & naturally free stands four square with no effort. He has a gorgeous head with kind expression & has very balanced body proportions. Not showing any sign of being a veteran today he was stylish, accurate & moved with drive & purpose, an excellent representative of our breed. Very pleased to award him BV 

2ND Gerhold SH CH RAMCHAINE FABULICIOUS (IMP NLD) JW ShCM  

Another really lovely upstanding male shown in good coat & condition & handled to perfection. This boy has a neater frame, is very well balanced, has excellent bone & feet, very good front & rear assembly placing his legs well under his body & showing powerful rear quarters. He has a very attractive head, kind eye & was carrying the correct weight. Good tail set & carriage. On the move he flowed around the ring with a handler who really gets the best out of him. A worthy champion who was narrowly pipped to 1st place by my winner who just gave a little more today

Loved this ultra-feminine unexaggerated mid gold bitch as soon as she came into the ring & she had to be good to win a large class full of quality. Shown in gleaming mid gold coat she has the sweetest head & expression enhanced by dark pigment. Straight forelegs, tight well-padded feet, good forechest, front & rear angles are totally in harmony, good body depth & she has a strong level topline. Hocks are straight & well let down, tail is correctly set on & a good length. She has good leg length to body ratio & just the right amount of bone & weight. She was effortless & confident on the move & I’m sure enjoyed her day.

Very close up to my winner, another super feminine young lady shown in beautiful mid gold coat. Sweet head with dark eye & pigment, clean neck flowing into good front assembly. Correct length of leg standing on well-padded cat like feet, level topline held well on the move. Correct rear quarters, good tail set & length & used to advantage. Movement was accurate & showed good reach in front & drive from the rear

This sweet mid gold puppy has it all for me, confident happy attitude, gorgeous balanced head with dark eye & the darkest pigment which is the icing on the cake. Her neck is a good length & flows into great shoulder assembly, forelegs are straight & she has the neatest of feet. She is well ribbed, short coupled & has good rear angulation with excellent tail set & well let down hocks. I could have watched her move around that big ring all day, so accurate with plenty of reach & drive, good footfall & holding that super outline, I’m sure she has a wonderful future. Very happy to award her BPB, BP & then to see her go on to be awarded Puppy G4 in strong competition.

Her rear quarters are correctly angled & have good breadth of thigh. Another who made excellent use of the large ring showing her ground covering action perfectly. Well presented & handled she later also won the Special Beginner’s class, Best Sp.Beg & then to top it all was awarded Sp Beg G1 

2ND Ayling-Jones PAJULA'S SANTA BABY BY RAIVESLAKE  

This lovely girl was shown in well-presented mid gold coat & excellent condition. Well chiseled feminine head enhanced by super pigment & that “want to please” expression. Strong neck leading to excellent layback of shoulder, level topline leading to well angled rear quarters good tail set & strong, straight hocks. An enthusiastic, accurate mover she covered the ground easily with drive & was true both coming & going away.

Excellent forechest, correct front assembly placing her legs well under her body & with excellent bone & feet. Good ribcage, strong loin, good tail set & length. Rear angles compliment her front & she has straight hocks. On the mover her handler really got the best out of her, action was straight & true both ways.

A lot to like about this pretty mid gold bitch. Liked her head, expression & dark pigment. Good layback of shoulder, straight forelegs & neat feet. Good forechest, plenty of heart room & good breadth of thigh. Movement was accurate driving from well-muscled rear quarters & she was well presented & handled.

On the move her condition, conformation & excellent handling enabled her to show off her strong ground covering action with plenty of drive from the rear.

Her neck is clean & flows into excellent layback of shoulder & return of upper arm, with good forechest, this front assembly places her legs well underneath her. She has correct bone giving strength without a hint of coarseness & stands on cat like feet. Topline is dead level, she has excellent spring of rib is strong in loin & has a good tail set. Rear assembly is well muscled she has a good turn of stifle, good breadth of thigh & neat well let down hocks. Shown in gleaming coat & sympathetically handled she moved accurately with purpose & with good reach & drive. I was more than happy to award her the BCC & BOS

Impressive bitch on the move, enthusiastic & with plenty of power from the rear. Shown in rich gold coat she has a very balanced outline & good leg length to body ratio. Sweet head with lovely expression & dark pigment, clean neck well set on, excellent shoulder layback & good upper arm with straight forelegs & tight feet. Her body has good forechest & spring of rib, topline is level, she is short coupled, strong over the loin & has good breadth of thigh. Shown in good condition, well presented coat & well handled.

This sweet young lady had to pull out all the stops today to win a fabulous class teeming with quality & she did! Shown in glorious coat & carrying just the right amount of weight she has a lovely outline, everything in harmony. Good head shape, the sweetest of expressions with a dark eye & pigment. Correct bite, clean neck flowing into excellent shoulders & upper arm, legs placed well under her body & she has neat feet. Excellent body depth & spring of rib, level topline, short couplings & well angled rear quarters. Good tail set & neat hocks. She is an enthusiastic mover, accurate & true & I loved her outgoing disposition with that ever wagging tail! Her RBCC was well deserved today

Another beautiful bitch who oozes quality & has no exaggerations. Eye catching, balanced profile sweet head & expression, clean neck leading to good shoulders & upper arm. Straight front, neat feet & good bone. Her topline is level & she is strong in loin, short coupled & has excellent tail set & carriage. Hocks are neat & well let down. She was very well presented & handled; movement was enthusiastic & true with plenty of reach & drive.

Such a lovely 6 year old bitch, impossible to overlook her.  Sweet head & expression & she clearly adores her handler! Excellent reach of neck into text book front assembly, correct leg length, straight front & neat feet. Level topline, good body depth, tail well set on. Rear quarters have good breath of thigh & muscle tone & she has strong hocks. So very happy on the move where she has excellent footfall & moved with good reach from the front & drive from the rear. Liked her very much & she was a close contender for the higher awards in the later line up.

Another with no exaggerations & shown to advantage, this pale bitch was presented to perfection & in super coat & condition. Feminine head with dark expressive eyes, good muzzle depth & correct bite. Clean neck, excellent topline flowing into correct tail set. She has a straight front & neat well-padded feet, is deep though the chest & has good rear angulation. She used the ring well & covered the ground easily, very well handled.

This lovely pale 10 year old bitch headed a wonderful class of mature ladies. Good spring of rib & level topline which she held on the move. Excellent rear quarters, tail set & well let down hocks. Shown in full, well presented coat she flowed around the ring with accurate driving movement

Mid gold bitch shown free standing & who has personality plus! Sweet, feminine head with very alert expression & good ear carriage. Clean neck into excellent layback of shoulder & corresponding upper arm. Straight front, neat feet with well-fitting elbows. She has good depth to body & strength over the loin. Excellent rear quarters with good breadth of thigh & straight hocks an enthusiastic mover who used the ring very well & kept her handler on her toes.
