I was the replacement judge for Liz Millward who, through circumstances beyond her control, was unable to fulfil this appointment. Thank you to the exhibitors for accepting me as her replacement.

1. Sladden’s Khyannes Triton at Canemamans (Imp Hun). Braque D’Auvergne. Very smart young dog. Nicely balanced. Beautifully conditioned. Sound mover. Front perhaps to strengthen. Excellent coat.

Any Variety Veteran

Headed by three worthy Champions.

1. Cooper’s Ch Amcross A Proppa Part, Tibetan Spaniel. Such an aristocratic look! Handsome and masculine head. Beautiful expressive dark eyes, excellent neck with great shoulders. Balanced throughout. Super front assembly good depth of bone, beautiful to examine. Well-muscled and conditioned. He really moved so true which was accurate and precise.

2. Davidson-Poston’s Ch Spinillons Rebel Rowser. JW SHCM, B/W Papillon. Nicely proportioned throughout. Super for head and expression. Well bodied. Presented in A1 coat and condition. Moved steadily.

3. Int Sh Ch Silvestre Last Tango with Silberliss JW

I note that the first three in this class were also titled and an absolute credit to their owners.

1. Pounds-Longhurst’s Sh Ch Mossburn Eva Mindfool JW ShCM Retriever (Golden), Stands four square portraying such a balanced outline, nothing overdone. Golden dense coat, feminine head with excellent pigment, good length of neck, 9 years presented in fabulous condition. Moved superbly.

2. O’Days Ch Silvamoon Sweet Sapphire ShCM Basset Griffon Vendeen (Grand). 10 yr old bitch who belies her age! Excels in size & bone. Feminine head, with good eye and expression Ears well set. Strong muzzle, well laid shoulders, with parallel front, level topline, held well on the move.

3. Cherry’s Ch Lynces Diamonds and Pearls JW ShCM, Tibetan Terrier.

1. Watkinson’s My Boy Samson Lee, Dog. Impressive youngster. Lovely balance throughout, Super body , neck and chest. Moved purposely maintaining a spirit level topline on the move. BPIB PG3

2. Pearmain & Sherwood’s Delandmar Greta Garbo, Very feminine Bitch whose expression I admired. B/T coat of excellent quality. Thought she would be my winner but movement was unsettled today, particularly going away which may have been attributed to the equestrian type surface. Close call.

1. Fossett’s Lokmadi Peggy Sue for Brysdax, Bitch Balanced 14 months old bitch. Impressive front assembly, super reach of neck. Balanced head giving a pleasing expression. Level backline held securely and a very proud mover. BOB and delighted to see her awarded. Hound G1

2. Mutton’s Montone Be Brave, Bitch. 15 months old. Pleasing head, neck and topline. Preferred overall balance of 1. Excellent mover particularly those powerful hindquarters.

1. Kitchen’s Swingletrees Roses Are Red at Tarkdash, Bitch I liked a lot. Very attractive Red beautifully balanced with ideal length of leg. At almost 2 years she is a real showgirl and will certainly impress. Appealing head. Moved very well perhaps hindquarters to strengthen a touch.

2. Porter-Mannung & Porter’s Wallaroo Karlek Lindor, B/T 18 months. Dog. Another one with lots of attributes. Dark eyes well set. Balanced throughout. Well ribbed and short loined, Moved with style; super forehand.

3. Hemming’s Clipperdown Gipsy Women, Bitch

1. Peramain & Sherwood’s Lokmadi Crystal Wings for Delandmar ShCM, Bitch This Red girl is super quality. Feminine, with correct proportions throughout and with a good underline and the best of top lines. Correct angulations both front and rear. RBOB

2. Mutton’s Poshpride Alfa Lady (Imp UkR), Another pretty bitch. OK for ribs, Correct textured coat. Presents a shapely outline when standing. Well balanced head of good length, tight lips and appealing dark eyes. Long clean neck, well developed forechest. I just preferred the movement of 1.

1. Osbourne’s Derochaise Vincenzo Di Braego, Puppy Dog and a lot to like here. Super head and expression, excellent ribbing and sturdy loins. His great construction really shows on the move when he demonstrates a positive accurate forehand reach and powerful rear drive. RBOB & BP

2. Chambers’s Cishelvine Just A Kiss With Hototo, somewhat larger overall, balanced masculine head of good length on strong shoulders, level top line, ribbing well back, nice developed front. Moved OK but without any enthusiasm today.

1. Maes-Jones & Bates’s Fenwires Special Edition, 2 year ol very typey Bitch. Really impreesive head, neck and shoulders, OK for ribbing. Secure sturdy topline. Presented in fabulous coat and fit condition. A very impressive mover. BOB

1. Maes-Jones & Bates’s Derochaise Versace JW, Dark brindle Bitch. Impressive for balance. Maturing well at 17th months. Well balanced throughout. Secure backline, correct underline. OK for forechest. Great neck. Steady mover.

2. Hornby’s Derochaise Miss Dior With Jacmist, Femine head. Overall would just refer a touch more length and definition. Very impressive on the move, especially forehand reach.

1. Hicks’s Nuthouse Queen of Clubs, Quality bitch, 22 months of age and maturing nicely. Demands attention and is certainly eye catching. Correct size, perhaps a touch longer cast. Appealing head being strong but not overdone. Moves powerfully.

2. Storey & Piehl’s Kiromol Mandolin Wind, 6 month old sweet puppy Bitch. Coming together nicely in respect of overall balance. Liked her head qualities. Moved well and sympathetically handled. BPIB

1. Cox’s Ch Carlincox First Class JW ShCM, Strong but feminine Bitch. Presents a beautiful outline. Head with broad flat skull. Correctly shaped expressive eyes. Great reach of neck, well laid shoulders, ample spring of rib, correct topline and tail set. Moved impressively. BOB

2. Storey & Pielh’s Ch Kiromol Kendi JW ShCM, An impressive quality bitch of correct size,shape and substance. Feminine head of correct strength and balance. Excellent neck, topline and rear angulations. Not the front 1.

1. Kiernan & Blecher’s Alishamar Rafael Avec Kierlander (Imp Bel), Saluki. Lovely for size and shape. The more I saw of her the more I liked. Beautifully proportioned, super head, neck and topline, Elegant sound mover and with confidence can only get better. Dog Best AVNC & Best AVNC Puppy PG4

2. Abraham’s Jamarqi Alchemist, Borzoi, Dog. Really hard choice here between 1 and 2. Quality puppy with good bone. Lovely head with good underjaw and correct veining, dark eye and good pigment. Complimentary length of neck; well laid shoulders. Correct topline and length of loin. Well balanced front and rear. Moved well with reach and drive. Reserve Best AVNSC.

1. Samway’s Erpingham Magnus Cassacre, Deerhound, Dog 2 yr old male of correct size and balance. Correct coat texture. Appealing head & eye, good ear set. Good for neck, front angulation. OK hindquarters, Fit sturdy mover.

1. Johnson’s Cyangrange Serendipi Tea, Whippet, Bitch elegant feminine fawn bitch, well angled front and rear. Ok for neck and shoulders. Moved steadily.

2. Marshall’s Soufriere One Vision, BGV (Grand), 14 month old Bitch. Good for overall balance. Topline to settle. Attractive head and expression. Sturdy body and balanced bone.

Hardcastle, Green & Bradley’s Vizslanya Sziena By Viszaset, Bitch, Hungarian Visla. Such a beautiful feminine young bitch of balanced appearance. Correct depth of brisket, well sprung ribs, super angulations fore and aft. Fabulous head and expression. Super length of neck well laid back shoulders. Well ribbed. Correct bend of stifle. Neat feet. Moved superbly both fore and aft. Loved her!

Reserve Best in Show

Ingram’s Jojavik Devil’s Ivy JW. Beautiful young B/R Doberman Bitch out of the top drawer. Feminine but with ample strength and substance. Well shaped head and finish, correct eyes giving typical expression. Good forechest and depth of chest, well boned with lovely tight feet. She produces such a classic outline. Presented in hard fit condition which produced powerful, accurate movement. Handled to perfection.

Best Puppy In Show

Short’s Summer Memories, Tibetan Spaniel, Bitch. Presented in fantastic condition. Correct amount of coat and nothing overdone. Such a feminine, balanced head with slight lift to ears. Well angulated forequarters, level backline secure on the move with perfectly set tail. She looked stunning both when standing and on the move.

German Shepherd

Whiteside’s Hamadryas Sword, GSD, 11 months old dog, Produced such an eye catching profile when standing; void of any exaggeration, totally conforming to my interpretation of the breed standard. Fabulous head, Clean front legs, correct feet and ribbing. Correctly angulated hindquarters. Moved with style. Thoroughly deserved this award and clearly a popular ringside choice!

Best RBOB In Show

Simon’s Irish Terrier, Saredon Red Berry, Dog . I have judged before and I like this young male of balanced proportions. Correct coat texture being thick and wiry. OK for head. Fabulous lay of shoulder and well set neck of ideal length. Daring eyes! Moved keenly.
