Thank you to the hard working Officers and Club for the super invitation to judge BIS at a super show. I really enjoyed judging some lovely dogs.

Spaniel (American Cocker)

Post Graduate 2,1

1. Sheppard’s Bubbaloo’s Something Special For Shadowview (Imp SVK), 7 month old Dog. Short and compact and produces a lovely shape. Balanced head, dark eyes and well set ears. Good forechest, sufficient neck. Well set on tail. Moved soundly but needs to gain a lot more confidence but this will come. BPIB.

1. Luczynski’s Baladeva Scarlet Letters For Kanara ShCM. Feminine Black bitch. Good for make and shape. Neatly balanced. Appealing head and eyes, correct bite. Low set ears. Arched neck of good length. Neat feet. Correct length of body. Moved well. BOB

2. Sheppard’s Bubballoo’s Mr Bean at Shadowview (Imp SVK) ShCM. ‘All male’ dog. Solid masculine head, dark eyes, slightly heavy lips. Excellent neck, forechest and body. Long in loin. Excellent croup with well set on tail. He moves in a long and easy stride, rear not as precise as 1. Secure topline. Presentation OK.

Post Graduate 4

1. Pearn’s Fonnesse Fingibson In Gwbert JW ShCM Eye catching black dog, plenty of him. He presents a very pleasing outline. Good depth of chest OK for spring of rib, well angulated front and rear. Moved well.

2. Lymbery’s U La La Modus Vivendi. Good for size. Appealing head, particularly eyes and ear placement. Unsettled on the move, but this gradually came together as the class progressed.

3. Moutry’s Sunzo Somgstar

1. Parkhouses’s Sandlauga Magic Spell For Shivani. Approaching 3 years and maturing well. Nice type, good overall balance, make and shape. Good length of rib and short couplings. In good coat and condition. Moved impressively. BOB

Post Graduate 2

1. Birkenshaw’s Barleyarch Sabrita For Gilcar Feminine bitch with good length of neck and moderate angulation. Super depth of chest. Adequate bone and sound movement. BOB.

2. Whittacker’s Pingarypoint Top Class. 6 months old and coping with it all admirably. Nicely constructed throughout. Gaining confidence all the time and by the end of the class was beginning to enjoy it. Obviously this will all come together given time. BPIB

1. Miles’s Layways Van Winkle. Elegant bitch, well-proportioned head, large open nose. Excellent forechest and good angulation fore & aft. Body length OK. Neat feet Good length of neck. Moved well. Super coat and condition.

2. Warnes’s Luckville Digitalis By Debian. At 9 months old still very much just a puppy. Nicely built. Good body for age. Everything in the right place. Feet to firm. Moved OK and maturity will be to her advantage.

1. Challis’s Vizslanya Dunaviz JW. On the stand she is a well-balanced, feminine and mature. Shown in excellent muscular condition. Attractive head with correct expression. Super depth of chest, strength over the loins and of balanced bone. Correct front construction. Strong hindquarters and muscled lower thigh; well let down hocks. Moved soundly. Excellent textured coat. BOB

2. Challis’s Highforce Future Legend For Vizslanya JW. Another nice one! Impressive masculine outline. Well-proportioned head with pleasing eye, large, open nose and good ear set and carriage of ear. Nicely balanced throughout with good forechest, length of neck and chest. Well-muscled throughout. Excellent width of upper & lower thigh. Moved soundly.

1. Morris & Evan’s Bareve Brynderi Well balanced and proportioned, good feet and well muscled. Correct harsh coat with some furnishings, masculine head and good bone. BOB

1. Wilcox’s Pipeaway Dreams Afyre in Merynjen. Attractive, 10 month old, maturing nicely. Balanced head with alert eyes and good finish. Strong neck, excellent shoulders, good depth to chest and a slight arch in the strong loin. Compact feet. Great reach and drive. BP

2. Stilgoe’s Teisgol Hot Chocolate. Appealing liver and white. Feminine, balanced head with good occipital bone and well-set ears. Lengthy, muscular neck arises beautifully from well-placed shoulders. Elbows tight not quite the chest of 1. Moved soundly and with style.

3. Wilkins’s Wilchrimane Iced White For Lottieboo

1. Watkins, Phillips & Gordon’s Hawkfield Audacious (AI) JW Pleasing in outline. Balanced head, ideal neck. Well bodied for age. Elegant and refined, particularly on the move and loved her lashing tail!

2. Isherwood’s Symitry Kiss From A Rose o/w At 20 months still developing. Feminine head with good length of neck & well sprung ribs. Movement to tighten up. Produces an attractive elegant shape.

3. Stangroom’s Lappakia Wannabe-A-Lay-Dee

1. Stilgoe’s Alcazar Amazing Grace Via Teisgol. Appealing bitch developing in body. Admired her head proportions and expression. Longish muscular neck with a slight arch which enhances quality. She has a clean front and neat feet. Secure topline, strong loins. Impressive rear angulations. Moves with an easy economic stride. Presented in excellent condition. BOB

2. Stangroom’s Pipeaway Laura Louisa at Lappakia ShCM. A bitch of graceful lines and balance, feminine head and expression. Lengthy neck into sloping, well placed shoulders, secure topline when standing and on the move. Moved OK.

1. Burgess’s Greyspirit Rock Star From Hantzburg JW 19month male, masculine head, super neck of moderate length. Good front angulation and straight forelegs. Well-proportioned body with deep chest and well sprung ribs. In excellent condition. Showed a sense of purpose when moving and accurate with it too! BOB

1. Burgess’s Gunalt Rock Out With Hantzburg ShCM. 6 year old Mature male with strong head and moderately long neck set into well laid back shoulders. Tidy front. Feet OK. Deep chest and well sprung ribs with a good amount of length to his body. Well angulated rear quarters aided powerful movement.

1. Stilgoe’s Perdizcyo Beatriz With Teisgol, Portuguese Pointer Portuguese Pointer Bitch. Having recently been mentored in Portugual I was delighted to go over this super bitch. Strong but feminine head, eyes of the correct colour, giving a super expression. Great for neck & shoulders. Well muscled with a good topline & excellent hindquarters, good depth & width of chest, covered the ground with ease with correct head carriage. Presented in fabulous condition and never put a foot wrong. Best Gundog Import Register and delighted to award her G1.

2. Baker’s Achouffe Smokey Diamon Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer Bitch of super type. She is nicely angulated, extremely sound and unexaggerated. Superbly handled. Unlucky to meet 1.

Junior 5,3

1. Mugford’s Alolfrana Sugar’n’Spice at Lynwood, English Setter. Clearly a baby but totally balanced and so promising. She has a lovely length of neck to well laid back shoulders. Well-muscled throughout. Moved so soundly for a 8 month old holding a level top line and having an excellent tail set. Free moving with drive and purpose. Very promising indeed. Best AVNSC & Best AVNSC Puppy.

2. Humphries’s Spyefire Secret Agent, Irish R/W Setter. Well grown youngster. Appealing balanced head and super expression from well-placed eyes. Good for neck and body proportions. Movement to settle.

3. Martin’s Ferndel Fooling You of Meadway, WSS.

Post Graduate 1

1. Martin’s Laoirebay Steel Blue Ocean at Shannonstyle JW Irish R/W Setter. 18 month old dog maturing well. Good bone, substance and balance. Attractive head. Balanced angulations throughout. Good for chest. A little untidy coming and going today.

1. Martin’s Corrandroo Cascade at Shannonstyle, Irish R/W Setter. Lovely on the stand and presenting a balanced outline. Attractive head, good for neck and body. Excellent coat. Moved OK.

2. Furness’s Shezcasrie Flint, ESS. Appealing balanced head, well set ears. Topline needs to settle. Perhaps a touch longer in body. Excellent mover.

1. Mugford’s Alolfrana Sugar’n’Spice at Lynwood, English Setter

2. Hawkfield’s Larfin Policeman, Pointer dog. In this class he was a revelation! Far more confident than in the breed class. Moved beautifully and portrayed all those breed attributes. At 7 months clearly will improve and gain confidence.

3. Wilkins’s Wilchrimane Cherry Flip with Lottieboo, Pointer

1. Stangroom’s Lappakia Dune Song, Stylish Pointer bitch, feminine in head, sweet expression, lovely outline, good angulations, plenty of curves. Well off for bone. Very stylish mover and loved it all! Best Gundog Veteran.

2. Edwards’s Afterglow Dancing Brave ShCM, Spaniel (American Cocker) 9 ½ years old and in great condition. Lovely size and overall shape. Well balanced. Pleasing head with plenty of plushness in muzzle and a lovely eye. Super mover. Close call.
