AVNSC Utility

PD/B (1,0) 1. Watkin’s Albionspitz Little Flower, Eurasier, just off square in outline, lovely wedge head, dark oval eye, with well-placed ears to give correct expression. Well boned legs, strong pasterns, and tight oval feet, moderate and balanced angles. Firm back to high set tail. Excellent on the move in all directions BP and PG2. GD/B (3,0) 1. Sandells’ Jabriana Des Gardiens Du Bois Clerbault Avec Shawmut, Boston Terrier, compact in outline, with good ribs and depth to chest. Square head, flat skull, dark round eye, neat ears. Lovely arch to neck, elbows tight to body well developed thigh, moved well with effortless stride, BAVNSC. 2. Watkin’s Lumikedon Hiski Hiivio, Eurasier, just off square in outline, in good coat and well boned, prefer stronger pasterns. Strong masculine wedge head, flat skull and correct furrow, dark oval eye. Moved well. 3. Watkin’s Albionspitz Yuki Oona. OD/B (3,1) 1. King’s Beebeemi Snow Storm at Kingsline, Boston Terrier, elegant bitch who is well angulated with correct reach of neck, good depth of chest to give short compact appearance. Short square muzzle and head, wide set ears, dark eye. Moved well in front, just a shade close behind, RBAVNSC. 2. Sandells’ Shawmut I am Abe Lincoln, well boned to neat round feet, compact in outline, would prefer little more depth to chest, and this also affected from movement. Correct square head, flat skull, short muzzle, eye a little light in colour.

Akita

JD/B (2,1) 1. Grimshaw & Turner’s Whatif Serenity, still raw baby – but shows promise, super nature, large head, flat skull and strong muzzle to create correct triangle, ears a little large for head at this stage. Lovely dark oval eye. Well coated and presented, moved like a baby, BP. OD/B (2,0) 1. Nicholls’ Travistock War Lord For Shyllar, difficult decision between these two, felt younger dog had better overall outline, just off square, and with thick neck with correct crest. Moderate angles, well boned, deep chest, firm back and strong loin, tight full tail. Lovely wedge head, flat skull, dark eye and neat ears, just a shade erratic on move behind, BOB. 2. Nicholls’ Kabu Shine Thru Shyllar, few months off 10th birthday and super condition, and actually a better mover than kennel mate. Felt he was shade longer cast, and not quite the angles of winner. Lovey head, broad forehead, flat skull with clear furrow, strong muzzle, ears set on well, RBOB.

Japanese Shiba Inu

PG (1,0) 1. Bryans’ Marilouvales Danny Zuko, just a shade long cast in loin, but has correct triangular head with flat skull of good width, well developed cheeks, neat ears and lovey dark almond eye set well. Stands on straight front legs, with correct degree of bend of stifle, tail rather loose. Moved ok in profile just could be firmer behind. OD/B (6,1) 1. Cooper & Dunhill-Hall’s Vormund Heath Cliff, easy winner, very typical, correct triangular head with flat skull good stop, and good cheeks, dark almond eye, neat hooded ears. Moderately angulated, strong neck to defined withers, high set tail. Correct coat. Moved well, BOB. 2. Cooper’s Vormund I’m Luella at Pervale, similar type to winner, 11 years and in excellent condition. Moderate angles, correct head and expression, good neck and withers. Was inclined to pace, but was sound when moved properly, tail set could be higher. Excellent double coat, which was lacking in many in class, RBOB 3. Burrough’s Burwen The Archangel at Richace.

Tibetan Spaniels

A big thank you to the SEATSC for supporting the entry at this show, a super entry of very high quality dogs, I certainly had a number of difficult decisions. Thought my BOB was rather special and she did enough to wow me in the group as well, and therefore delighted to see she not only took BIS on the second day of the show but was awarded Supreme BIS over the two days under Leila Tarabad.

PD/B (5,1) 1. Brandrick’s YLLASTEL ONE LAST DANCE TO LILLINCA, excellent proportions in outline, with very good angulation front and rear, firm straight topline, tail a little loose, but well set. Moderate bone, good front and moved with super reach, and proud head carriage. Head is well developed with good breadth to skull, dark expressive oval eye, good stop, ears placed high, well defined muzzle, BP & PG3. 2. Steed’s BALGAY YUR A DAARRRLING, what a delightful baby, in super puppy coat and well boned, excellent presentation. Super head, broad skull, slightly domed, defined stop and well cushioned muzzle, correct dentition. Dark oval eyes, giving bright & alert expression. Super temperament. At present just needs to grow upwards to finish the picture in profile. 3. Collett’s SOUSKA SLOW DOWN.

JD/B (5,2) 1. Walli & Baga’s FOLLOW BALTHASAR TO VELROK (Imp Swe), oozes masculinity and is mature for age, good bone, excellent coat with correct mane and feathering on ears and legs. Just longer than tall in profile. Good layback of shoulder, short strong neck, well developed chest and sternum. Firm hind quarters and correct turn of stile, stands on hare feet. High set tail, well plumed. Head has good width between ears which are well feathered and add to width of skull. Dark oval eye, strong blunt muzzle, broad under jaw and clean cushioned muzzle. Moved freely in all directions. 2. Brandrick’s YLLASTELHAS IT ALL AT LILLINCA, litter brother to puppy winner, lovely type, attractive parti colour, with ex pigment. Correct proportions in outline, well boned, and has good angulation front and rear, with short well defined neck. Head still to develop fully but has good width for pup, excellent eye and ear set. Needs to broaden in chest which will come with maturity. 3. Andrews’ CHENREZI YOU HAVE A FRIEND.

PGD/B (8,2) 1. Steed’s GIANNI ITS POSH TOTTY, caught my eye in this large, strong class, especially when I sent the class round, loved her free movement in profile, with head and tail carried proudly, she just demanded to be looked at. Slightly longer than tall, with firm straight back, high set tail. Good chest and length of rib. Neat domed skull, very feminine, with dark oval eye, good stop, blunt clean well cushioned muzzle and good underjaw and dentition. Excellent coat and presentation. Well angulated front and rear, and she can certainly move, covering the ground with pace and showing free movement, true in all directions. Has that extra star quality from her alert and proud carriage, BOB, G1 & BIS. 2. Brandrick’s MATSURI SPECIALLY MAID FOR LILLINCA, another who really caught my eye and pushed hard for top honours, lovely balance in outline, good bone yet feminine, rich colour and well coated. Firm in topline and with well balanced correct angles. Has a good head, domed with correct stop and dark eye. Blunt well cushioned muzzle and high set ears framing the skull. Moved well in profile, just a shade closer behind. 3. FOLLOW BALTHASAR TO VELROK.

OD (5,1) 1. Steed’s GIANNI ITS GOLLANT, mature masculine male, correct bone for size, and good length of back in relation to height at withers. Level topline and well ribbed. Head carried proudly as is high set tail. Shown in good coat with attractive feathering on legs and ears. Masculine in head, which is small compared to body, shows good width and oval dark eye set well, excellent pigment. Alert expression. Blunt muzzle with clean cushioning and broad chin. Ears set high and increase overall width of skull. Ex angulation, and covers ground well, true in all directions, with tail carried high. I see from catalogue he is litter brother to the BOB, RBOB. 2. Richardson & Platt’s MAISIJOY DEVIL IN DISGUISE, 3 years old, mature, felt he was a shade longer in profile than winner. Carries tail well. Good angulation and firm topline, moderate bone to hare feet. Domed skull, dark oval eye and good stop to clean well defined muzzle. Moved ok in profile but a little close coming towards me. 3. Thornely-Taylor’s Ch Alfie Beau at Saxtead.

OB (7,2) 1. Wallis & Baga’s VELROK SHIFFALIA, 22 months, gorgeous red colour, balanced outline, with good length for height and high set tail. Stands on hare feet, and has moderate bone. Head is small in proportion to body and set on short strong neck, as is carried proudly. Good width between dark oval eye, high set well feathered ears. Good cushioning to muzzle. Well angulated and covers ground well with positive true action, another who was strong contender for the main awards. 2. Thornely-Taylor’s BALGAY MI BELLE AT SEXTEAD, mature bitch in excellent coat, well feathered on legs and hare feet. Firm back to high set tail. Well proportioned head, good width to chin, well defined stop. Head width accentuated by high set ears which are well feathered. Tends to stand with front feet turned out, and on move, ok in profile. 3. Crawford’s SILGARHI O’DE CHEN AT NYTECHORUS.

Alaskan Malamute

JD/B (3,1) 1. Robb’s Icewolf Jupiter Rising, puppy bitch, good temperament, nice outline, strong neck to firm sloping topline, Moderately angulated, moved very well. Head strong but still have developing to do, lovely eye for shape and colour and set. Well boned, V promising. BP. 2. Atherton’s Casiat Tourr de France, rather raw and a little unsettled today, needs more ring confidence. Well boned and in good coat. OD/B (1,0) 1. Robb’s Multi Ch Under Icewolf’s Star Inditarod JW ShCM EJW’10, good size, ex bone and double coat. Good angles front and rear, firm slightly sloping back to strong broad rump, tail carried correctly. Broad head, dark almond eye, neat ears set on wide, strong muzzle. Moved well.

Bernese Mtn Dog

OD/B (1,0) 1. Connelly’s Shirdees Top Gun, strongly made male of excellent bone, stands on lovely tight round feet. Carrying a little weight – but surprisingly did not affect his movement and was sound in all directions. Large strong head, with flat skull, dark almond eye, strong in muzzle with tight flews. Strong neck, well angulated.

Siberian Husky

PD/B (1,0) 1. Simms’ Over the Rainbow des Sarmentins, thought this young lady was very typy, lovely balanced outline, moderate in bone and with thick double coat. Firm straight topline to slightly sloping croup, tail carried correctly. Good neck and super angles front and rear, shows well on move as she covers ground so easily. Head is very typical, clean chiselling, muzzle and skull balanced. Lovely almond eyes, has that cheeky look, really caught my eye, BP & BOB. YD/B (1,0) 1. Smith’s Snoqualmie Taliska Skye at Articswirl, rather raw and would prefer more bone. Chest yet to drop, though has good length of rib, and defined tuck up. Head has correct width to skull and length of skull and muzzle are balanced but muzzle could be stronger. Rather erratic on the move. PG D/B (5, 3) 1. Nicholls’ Articskies Black Truffle for Shyllar, slightly longer cast, but well angulated, ex double weatherproof coat. Good foxy head, well chiselled, moderate stop, dark oval eye. Straight well boned legs, oval compact feet. Good neck, tail well set but carried a behind. Moves well. 2. Facey’s Pelenrise Chat up Line of Nordicface, tall masculine, of moderate bone. Prefer more layback of shoulder to match hind angles. Rather broad across chest. Attractive head, good eye shape, moved ok but not the reach of winner. OD/B (6, 1) 1. Simms’ Articskies Glory Awaits JW ShCM, impressive male in excellent coat and moderate bone for size. Good layback of shoulder and well arched neck to firm back. Rather strong in head with a little too much stop for me, lovely eye and muzzle well balanced for length. Good depth of chest and shows correct balance of height from ground to withers compared to elbow. Moved soundly in all directions, RBOB. 2. Facey’s Pelenrise Chat me up of Nordicface, loved her outline and balance, excellent angulation and neck. Head was of good proportions with clean cheeks and slightly rounded skull, just prefer little more definition to stop. Almond eye, ears set on high, another who covered ground well with min effort.

Hungarian Puli

PG D/B (2,0) 1. Owen’s Magikus Draco Malfoy, slightly longer cast, strong short neck set well, Well angulated front and rear, which show on move with jaunty stride sound in all directions. Head small in proportion to body, good eye shape and colour with good pigment for white, short muzzle. RBOB. 2. Henshaw & Gardner’s Magikus Belatrix Black, smaller framed bitch, litter sister to winner, square in outline, sort powerful neck, attractive head – with domed skull and good eye. High set tail. Moved ok. LD/B (1,0) 1. Hudson’s Weetoneon Jive Bunny, mature male, short strong back, square outline, short muscled neck, short muzzle, good stop, dark eye. Tail a little loose. Moved well. OD/B (1,0) 1. Szyczewski’s Tyngeli Heaven Sent by Weetoneon, Lovely bitch, feminine, square outline, ex cording, good angles front & rear, short muscular neck. Short well developed loin, tail set on high and carried close to back. Gentle domed skull, short muzzle, good stop, dark eye and well pigmented. Moves with purpose with typical quick stride, BOB.

Welsh Corgi (Cardigan)

OD/B (3,2) 1. Tayor’s Handskes Just a Gigolo at Tamlin, stood alone but excellent type, super bone and length, firm back, good breadth of chest and defined sternum. Tail set as continuation of topline, well-furnished to give correct brush. Lovely foxy head, good width to flat skull, dark eye gives warm expression. Ears set apart and well placed to nose. Elbows tight to body, good angles and moved well, covers ground easily with plenty of drive. BOB

Welsh Corgi (Pembroke)

PD/B (1,0) 1. Down’s Elessar Royal Trinket, was a lovely baby, good length excellent angles front and rear, good length of neck and holds topline well. Lovely sweet expression from foxy head, broad flat skull, round brown eye and well set ears , correctly aligned to nose. Lovely nature. Moved very well, BP & BOB. PG D/B (2,1) 1. Down’s Elessar Royal Salute, litter brother to puppy winner, good size and well boned good angulation and reach of neck. Attractive in head, with eye of good colour, and lovely expression. Well coated. Not as positive as bitch from behind on the move, and didn’t concentrate in challenge. OB/D (2,1) 1. Legerton’s Ermyn Time To Dream for Solaw, masculine with strong bone and in attractive coat, good reach of neck, deep chest and firm in topline. Foxy head with good stop and flat skull, ear well placed. Moved ok in profile but rather close behind and somewhat fond of tail, RBOB.

Any Variety Veteran Utility (15, 7)

 1. Kabu Shine Thru Shyllar, Jap Akita, please to see he was awarded BVIS. 2. Beer & Tiley’s Ch Bellwaycharm Time Zone for Tilbe JW ShCM, super condition and pushed winner had, excellent condition, super coat and presentation, broad head, large eye good angulation, , level topline held well on move. Cracking mover, covers huge ring well and shows full pad. 3. Sandells’ Maranns Jubilee Lets Party Dragonusa ShCM, Boston terrier.

Utility Group

1. Steed’s GIANNI ITS POSH TOTTY, Tib Spaniel, in the large group ring, this bitch just couldn’t be denied for her balance and super movement – holding her head proud and just demanding top spot, in spite of the warm long day – continued to impress to take Supreme BIS over two days under Leila Tarabad.

2. Hindley’s Alibama Double Platinum, Std Poodle, super silver showing the true elegance of the breed with substance , lovely chiselled head, strong back, deep chest and that flowing moment – driving round the ring with strong hind quarters.

3. Barnes & King’s Izlou Walnut Forget Me JW, German spitz mittel, cracking black, super wedge head, compact in profile with high set tail, moved very soundly.

4. Page’s Winflash Prada Candy Kiss, Dalmatian, well muscled smooth clean lines, lovely head, flat skull – good neck, powerful on the move with good length of stride

Puppy Utility Group

1. Parker & McDonald’s Jokerland’s Honey Pot, Min Schnauzer, compact and stylish, clean lines throughout, deep chest, lovely to watch on move with good drive uses hind well.

2. Watkin’s Albionspitz Little Flower, Eurasier, loved her for breed type and super movement – not sure I have seen the breed move so well.

3. Brandrick’s YLLASTEL ONE LAST DANCE TO LILLINCA, Tib spaniel, this bitch just oozes charm, has the correct proud carriage on the move and is well made and in lovely coat.

4. Silsbury’s Jadoremy Red Bounty Forever, Shih Tzu, confident pup, broad skull, correct chrysanthemum effect from head/muzzle, well coated and moves so smoothly
