Durham County Canine Association

Durham County Canine Association Premier Open Show ~ 14/7/19 A great pleasure to judge at this very well-organised show. This must be one of the most attractive venues in the North of England and we were blessed with great weather. Excellent stewards kept the rings moving along at a good pace. Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Junior 1 Johnson’s Garsayno Gold Madonna. Clear, good quality, silky coat. Flat Skull and nice eyes ith good pigmentation. Decent rib and forehand. Unfortunately, she was reluctant to use her tail which rather spoilt her outline. In profile, she is free moving and has some reach in front. Post Graduate 1 Lui’s Eblanahalls Honey Trap JW. She was my Best Puppy when I judged the breed last year at Windsor and she is maturing well. Her coat is a good colour and texture. Pleasing head with expressive eyes. Strong jaw. Well made all through and she moved out soundly with some drive from behind. She won a good variety class under me later in the day. 2 Taylor’s Eblanahalls Teckle Ish at Raisingsands. Masculine and well muscled with good hind angulation. Excellent topline and tailset. Not quite the hind action of the winner. Open 1 Patterson’s Snowmeadow Sauls Symphony to Gavleash. BOB. A handsome typical dog shown in good coat and condition. Nice eye with excellent pigmentation, flat skull and neat, well carried ears. Moved out well with evidence of both reach and drive and this gave him the advantage. 2 Lui’s Thistlebe Them There Eyes at Eblanahalls SHCM SHCEX. Very typey, pleasing forehand with strong, nicely arched neck. Compactly built with good rib. Excellent coat and colour. 3 Taylor’s Eblanahalls Silkbeard at Rasiningsands. AV Rare Breeds 1 Ellwood and Davison’s Lady Marmalade of Albionspitz. Eurasier. A really good moving example of this most attractive breed. Very typical head and expression with excellent pigmentation. Good forehand with medium bone and nicely shaped feet. Good body proportions and she shows to good advantage. 2 Bateman-Hall’s MasaruMekohime Go Ir.Jun. Ch. CW19. Japanese Akita Inu. Another good showgirl. Feminine with a lovely head and well placed ears. Fairly small, almond eyes. Good bone. Excellent topline and high set tail. 3 Caldwell’s Crunchcroft Razzle Dazzle. Kooikerhondje. AV Brace 1 James’ Pyrenean Mountain Dogs. A really well matched pair who made an impressive picture on the move. Both had pleasing heads with kind, noble expressions. Presented in top class order. 2 Mather’s Dalmatians. Moved out well and in total harmony. Well spotted and made the most of their opportunity to shine. 3 Dixon’s Border Terriers. AV Breeders Open 1 Lui’s Eblanahalls Honey Trap JW. SCWT. 2 Langland’s Kimbildon Highland Fling. Italian Greyhound. Giving away a lot in age here but at 8 months she is most promising. AV Not Bred by Exhibitor. 1 Taylor & Johnson’s Chanceinns Sir Gino Avec Sifrason JW SHCM. Lhasa Apso. Shown in first class condition and his heavy straight coat was the icing on a good cake. Grand head, excellent forehand with decent bone and straight legs. Well balanced and very gay and jaunty on the move. 2 Mullett’s Shaymiloney Schinus Afinmore. Ret. Labrador. A typey well made dog, not exaggerated at all and he looked capable of a day’s work. Kind expression, thick coat and good tail. Moved well/ 3 Ambler’s Caleykiz Born to Boogie JW SHCM. Border Collie. AV Puppy 1 Mann’s Valger Ragnar. GSP. A top class, very good moving youngster. Masculine yet gentle expression, excellent neck and shoulders, good depth of chest. Strong, well muscled hindquarters.
