 AVNSC Working

 Junior

1 Grice & Clarkson’s Fairhero Go West CJW’19.  Dogue De Brodeaux.  A really well balanced and typical bitch, good expression, pleasing open nostrils and nice finish to muzzle.  Decent breadth and depth of chest.  Sound and free moving with typical head carriage.  Best AVNSC Working.

 Post Graduate

1 Cook’s Black Recording Angel I’m Black Pearl. Russian Black Terrier.  Good breadth of skull; well set, neat ears.  Strong jaw.  Almost square in outline with depth of chest and good spring of rib.  Impressed in profile action, just a little close going away from me.  Good coat, presentation and excellent temperament.

 AVNSC Pastoral

All Pyrenean Mountain Dogs!

 Junior

1 Goodwin’s Lisjovia Adagio.  Beautifully balanced and very typey, lovely eyes and very moderate stop.  Clean, tight fitting lips. Kindly expression.  Good breadth of chest, only just out of puppy and still needs to firm up a little in topline.  Good breadth of back.  Free moving and impressed in profile.  Dense double coat. A good prospect.

 Post Graduate

1 Goodwin’s Lisjovia Adagio

2 Goodwin’s Lisjovia Blind Faith.  An older half sister to the winner and her lovely temperament makes her a good ambassador for the breed.  Completely out of coat!  Good bone and substance, Firm topline.  Moved out well.

 Open

1 Warbrick’s Lisjovia Tokyo Road.  A typical male with a grand head, good forehand, well boned with compact well padded feet.  Well ribbed with good breadth of back.  Good quality coat and presented to best advantage. Best AVNSC Pastoral.

 AVNSC Hound

 Puppy

1 Turner & Gallery’s Stableview Spindle Willow.  Borzoi.  Still a minor puppy and rather raw but he is shapely with a fine head and keen expression, good depth of brisket and adequate breadth over the loins.  Once settled he moved out well and his excellent temperament should stand him good stead in the ring.

2 House’s Ambiesque Attain at Gleadsbury.  Dachshund (Mini. Smooth).  Presents a good outline with his firm topline and good head carriage.  Particularly good hind action.

 Post Graduate

1 House’s Gleadsbury Rumour Has It.  Dachshund (Mini. Smooth).  Best AVNSC Hound.  Scored here with her good front action, and perfect topline.  Could be a tad cleaner over the neck and shoulders, good keel and ribbed well back.  Free moving and flowing in profile.  Best AVNSC Hound.

2 Jenning’s Duddondaxs Judge Jude for Jenivon (Mini. Smooth).  Masculine yet attractive head and expression.  Nice length of neck, decent bone and feet.

The three Stakes classes provided me with much food for thought as they each had a good array of top-class exhibits.  Unfortunately, many of them had to remain unplaced.

Violet Yates Member’s Memorial Veteran Stakes

1 Tilley’s Ch Starzak Solid Gold Ex Action JW ShCM.  SCWT. A dog I have admired before and the years have been kind to him as he is lively and animated and on the move he has both reach and drive.  Good head planes, excellent forehand and compactly built with good spring of rib.  He is a lovely clear colour and his coat texture is first class.

2 Collinson’s Ch Nikara Diamond Jubilee with Norjack.  A lovely bitch of obvious quality and type, feminine and beautifully balanced.  Good breadth of skull; well-shaped expressive eyes.  Good ribbing and depth of chest.  Free moving and shows to great advantage.

3 Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Renshaw There and Back Again Under Macmoon ShCM

 Member’s Puppy Stakes

An excellent class.

1 Stokes’ Moenfair Dances The Moon into Guonabara. Masculine yet not overdone in any respect.  Pleasing very typical head with kind expression and good nostrils.  Clean neck of good length, good bone and feet.  Deep brisket.  Well ribbed with strong short loin.  Moved out well with some drive from the rear.  I thought he was most promising.

2 Roskell’s Ken Go Shun You Kensha (Imp Esp).  Japanese Shiba Inu. Beautifully put together with a grand head, small almond eye, strong jaw.  Excellent forehand, good body with firm topline and high set, thick well carried tail.  A light easy mover. Shows to advantage.

3 Matthew-Jones’ Lireva’s Quadrophonic

Margaret Wilcock Memorial Member’s Open Stakes

1 Danson’s Ir Ch Newruff Centurions Army at Alcarno ShCM.  Newfoundland. Handsome and typey with good bone and substance but in no way cloddy. Good sized head with very little stop, lovely clean eye.  Strong broad back and well ribbed.  Free moving and his double coat was presented to advantage.

2 Tilley’s Janey JimJams Jubilee Star at Starzak Sh CM.  SCWT.  Most impressive on the move with some drive from his strong well muscled hindquarters.  Good head and eye, well boned with straight strong limbs.  Firm topline and good body with high set tail.  Good coat texture.
