Burton On Trent Kennel Association

My thanks to the committee for the opportunity to judge at this well run and well supported show, there was a very nice atmosphere and some lovely dogs.

Hungarian Puli

Thank you to all the exhibitors for a high quality entry which started with a class of really promising puppies.

Junior

1. Knights Flindattie the Shogun

Topped a very nice class and scored on his lightness of foot and overall ring presence over two very promising bitches. A nicely balanced, square dog, wiry in build with good head proportions, dark eye and pigment, correct amount of bone, sturdy with well set neck, shoulders well laid with sound rear and nice, tight feet and sound moving, he has a lovely disposition, BP, PG2 good luck for the future.

2. Cowley’s Flindattie Cherry Blossom at Kashbeluli

Litter sister and so similar, full of type and a lovely mover, not quite the enthusiasm of 1 but another top quality, scored over 3 as a little more sturdy and together at this stage.

3. Watts Moonshadow Causa Commotion at Cordmoor NAF TAF

Post Graduate (1,0)

1. Owen’s Magikus Draco Malfoy

White male of larger type presented in pristine condition and with excellent pigment for his colour. Masculine with good head proportions, well made wiry dog but could be a little squarer, good set of neck, nice depth to chest and ribbing, very well muscled all through, holding a firm topline moving, showed good rear drive and typical profile movement, light on his feet and cording well.

Open (5,4)

Class worthy of any ch show ring and a pleasure to ponder over.

1. Mills Ch Black n Blue’s Bumble Bee (imp DNK)

Feminie compact bitch, sturdy with good substance and fine bone. Head and muzzle of correct proportions, finely shaped with enough stop, well placed neck which blends in to topline to give that typical puli silhouette, deep brisket with good ribbing, short firm loin, balanced angulation, nothing overdone about her but very sound and honest in outlook, she moved accurately in typical fashion with bags of energy which she need to do to place over 2, in full clean cords and displaying good deportment and a lively outlook BOB.

2. Knight’s Ch Weeteoneon Polly Flinders

Another superb bitch and one I have placed well before, a little stronger and heavier than 1 and more my prefernce, back after maternal duties and has lost a little in head cording, love her shape, fine head of good proportions. Excellent eye and pigment with neat ears and a moderate well set neck, well angulated front and rear with a short muscular loin, square in shape and moved in a light brisk fashion, not quite the overall condition of 1 and couldn’t match her quick stepping enthusiasm today, splitting hairs as required but top class from any angle.

3. Crofts Catsun Concolorous at Kistelek super male who was unlucky to meet these two girls today.

Newfoundlands

Puppy (5,1)

1. Farrar’s Disoranto Moonlight Shadow for Darkpeak (imp POL) a very promising, feminine bitch growing on well and with good bone. Beautifully balanced with a nice clean skull of good breadth, clean tight eyes and broad muzzle. Strong well set neck of good length with excellent forehand, well ribbed, firm in body and topline for a youngster, super rear with strong firm hocks, tail of good length and well carried, moves with drive and fluidity, very together for her age and a very exciting prospect, BOB, BP, PG4.

2. Chapple’s Sensitivity Bliss Storm Lindgreave over Peakcharm (FCI) Just 6 months and another who promises well for the future. Excellent bone for age and good substance all through, well balanced with lovely proportions, nice broad head with lovely muzzle and no looseness of eye, neat ears, sturdy neck and well laid shoulders, good for ribs with strong loin and broad back, firm for age, sound rear, large tight feet, sound and free on the move. Will watch his progress with interest.

3. Pallett’s Auldmoor First Edition for Sheenmarie

Junior (2,1)

1. Farrar’s Disoranto Moonlight Shadow for Darkpeak (imp POL)

1. Burton’s Vodahond Against All Odds

So much to like about this dog and he has impressive size and substance, masculine with a lovely broad head and typical expression. Sturdily built with good bone and large feet, strong through the chest and withers with excellent depth and well sprung ribs with strong back, a shade long in coupling, firm loins, in super coat with long tail and moved well, just not the drive and power in the rear that the puppy had but a quality dog all through.

2. Chapple’s Femme Fatal Bear Mountain at Peakcharm (Imp CZE) Very nice for type and overall make and shape, appealing head with kind expression, tight eye and strong muzzle, sturdy neck, well boned, preferred the front of 1, deep chest, well ribbed and strong in back and loins, sound rear, a little soft in condition and could loose weight to advantage as this impacted her movement today.

3. Burton ’s Merrybear Freddie Mercuryrnard

Saint Bernards

Junior (4,3)

1. Nagrecha, Booth & Booth Chandlimore Navy Blue

Really impressed with the breed type, proportions and bone of this young male, plenty of substance to him, lovely broad and well shaped skull which will finish well with a well defined stop and a short, deep muzzle, strong and well set neck, shoulders broad and well laid, defined withers, promises well for chest and brisket, well ribbed back with good width to back and rump, very sound and firm in rear for his age, liked his balance, disposition and sound movement, just edged his sister for BOB, BP.

Post Grad (2,1)

1. Booth & Booth Chandlimore Gotta Feeling for Beausaints

Litter sister and of the same good make and shape with excellent proportions, balance and substance. Many of the same comments apply to her, she is a really typey and sound girl, her brother was just a little tidier moving but this is an age development thing and there was very little to choose between them, congratulations to the breeder and owners on two absolutely sound and typical puppies.
