Newfoundlands

My thanks to all the exhibitors that chose to enter under me today. This was a quality group of dogs that I had the privilege to go over. They were all a credit to their owners and were all well groomed and beautifully presented. Having a group of such quality dogs made my choice of BOB just that bit more difficult.

Class: Junior (Entries 1 / Absent 0)

1st: Hosie – Larkharbour Hitchin a Ride to Shadowrise
16 month old male of good proportions. Developing well with a good broad head well set ears and lovely dark eye and a correct scissor bite. He has deep chest, nice straight front and equally good rear angles. He has a level topline which is held on the move but had a slight tendency to fly his tail today. Presented in excellent coat and well handled.

Class: Post Graduate (Entries 2 / Absent 1)

1st: Austin & Baxter – Going For Gold Tender Ebony
21 month old male of good size with a broad head, well set ears and a short square muzzle. He has slightly lighter eyes than I would like. He has a good reach of neck that leads to a broad chest with a good spring of rib, nice straight front with large cat like feet and a well angled rear. He has a lovely level topline when standing and on the move. Another dog that was well presented and handled. RBOB.

Class: Open Dog (Entries 3 / Absent 0)

1st: Lloyd – Carlos Cancrimo (Imp) ShCM
A 5yr old white & black dog who although smaller than 2 is well balanced. He has beautiful markings with almost no ticking, which make him stand out. He has a good head with a short square muzzle, lovely dark eyes, correct mouth and a fine blaze. He has a good spring of rib giving him a broad chest and well developed body. He has good bone and is well angulated both front and rear. He moved with power and drive and was impeccably presented.

2nd: Austin – Baranova Big Bopper of Elbear JW ShCM
5 year old male of excellent size and proportion. He has a broad head with lovely dark eyes and well set ears. His mouth has the correct scissor bite. Another dog with a strong neck that leads into well laid shoulders and a lovely straight front. He has a deep broad chest and has good rear angulation. His topline is level both when standing and on the move. His movement today was not quite as good as 1.

3rd: Hosie – Newfoundlove New Edition at Shadowrise Ir J Ch

Class: Open Bitch (Entries 1 / Absent 0)

1st: Lloyd – Excalibur’s Lady of The Lake Newfoundlandhills (Imp)
3½ year old bitch who has blossomed as she has grown. She has a broad head, with dark deep set eyes, a correct mouth and well set ears giving her a gentle expression. She has a good reach of neck, a deep broad chest with well sprung ribs, a straight front and well angled rear quarters, good bone and large well shaped feet. She has a level topline that is held on the move. She moved without effort today and had power and drive. Very well presented and handled. BOB & Working Group 1.
