Many thanks to the Society for the invitation and to my Steward Barbara. Thanks also to those exhibitors who showed under me. I had some lovely dogs to go over and really enjoyed the day.  

Retrievers (Flat Coated)

P (5,2a) 1 Hutchison’s Waverton Illusion, lovely balanced bitch of 7 months, a tad wriggly but held it together very well on the move, striding out well. Feminine balanced head with dark eyes, straight front, good depth of chest and well bodied for age, good angles throughout, moderate bend of stifle, in good glossy coat. BP & Gundog PG2. 2 Stevenson’s Caci’s Born To Be Miss Universe (IMP SWE), 6 month bitch puppy, with not quite the maturity of 1, nicely moulded head, long neck, straight front, body to develop. Moderate rear angulation. Lively and happy she was neatly handled to cover the ground well. 3 Slade’s Hightyne Fly Me To The Moon, giving his handler such a hard time but added to a trio of promising puppies.  

J (4) 1 Tagg’s Empire Glory Black Brianta At Oiyou (IMP CZE), 14 month junior bitch very well presented and with quality coat. Feminine head with dark alert eyes, strong jaws, long neck into well laid shoulders, ribs go well back, short loin, good width of thigh, moderate bend of stifle, good bone. 2 Hutchison’s Waverton Illusion 3 Oxford’s Matlaras Spirit Of Dunkirk For Taranbeck.

PG (7, 2a) 1 Bellamy’s Moontorn Goddess of Love, 2 year old bitch with head of good proportions and dark eye, long strong neck, straight front into sloping shoulders, deep chest, level top line, good rear angulation, in hard condition, free, positive movement. 2 Tagg’s Empire Glory Black Brianta At Oiyou (IMP CZE), 3 Osborne-Brown’s Perrymel Days Of Thunder.

O (4) 1 Bellamy’s Bochilbarley Blue Moon (AI) 3 year old dog with typical exuberance, nicely moulded  head, strong muzzle, alert expressive eyes, correct front assembly, well bodied up, with ribs well back, level topline, good width of thigh, moderate bend of stifle. Balanced overall with good bone and muscle, lovely flowing coat. Well handled. Moves freely with purpose and drive. BOB, 2 Hutchison’s Quills Mint Julep With Waverton JW AI (IMP SWE), very pretty bitch, head of good proportions with dark eye, straight front into well laid shoulders, deep chest, strong body and level topline, rear quarters well angulated. Lovely glossy coat. Moves with drive. 1 & 2 quality exhibits of different type, hard choice and preferred the dog on the day for his presence and ground covering action RBOB. 3 Hill’s Joya Tonggreen De La Chasse Des Ballastieres (FR IMP).

Spaniel (Cocker)

P (2) 1 Blackley & Salero’s Wightroche Over The Rainbow BP, very feminine 6 month black bitch puppy, lovely head and sweet dark eyes, well bodied for age with deep chest, good bend of stifle, still in puppy coat. Moves positively with rear drive. 2 Clarke’s Conabec Periwinkle, 8 month blue roan dog puppy, head of good proportions, full expressive eyes though a tad loose, deep chest, compact body, good bend of stifle, moves well but not quite the forward reach of one.

PG (2) 1 Blackley & Salero’s Cooleela Operation Dynamo Wightroche, 2 year old black dog, head of good proportions with dark eye, well clothed low set ears, straight front into sloping shoulders, short compact body of good depth. Well rounded rear quarters, short hocks. Well muscled. Covers the ground well on the move. BOB, GD Group 2, 2 Warrington’s Zakova Sunburst handsome 18 month dog, head with square muzzle and deep stop, dark eye and low set to ears. In good coat. Straight front, short body of good depth with level top line. Bend of stifle with short hocks. Would prefer more muscle overall. Moves quite well though not the drive of 1.

O (2, 1a) Clarke’s Zakova Sugar Plum, Well presented black and tan bitch, with feminine head of good shape with deep stop, dark expressive hazel eyes, plenty of body and bone. Moves fairly well though restricted in forward reach by lead. RBOB   

German Shorthaired Pointer

PG (2) 1 Warrington’s Zakova Amaretto, 2 year old l/w bitch, head of good proportions, with clean cut skull, soft expression, correct ear set. Straight front into well laid shoulders, deep chest, short back, long second thigh. Good muscle throughout. Well balanced overall. Moved smoothly and freely. RBOB, 2 Coe’s Goosepoint Waddington At Abbanash (AI) 15 month dog, masculine head, soft hazel eyes, straight in front, muscular neck into strong shoulders, body to develop, good length of thigh. Moves very well.   

O (4, 1a) 1 Braine’s Grenetrest Canterbury Bell JW, smart 2 year old liver dog, judged as a puppy he has developed well. Strong masculine head with rather deep muzzle, hazel eyes and gentle expression. Good ear set. Straight firm forelegs, tight feet, shoulders well laid, deep in chest, well sprung ribs, short back, stifles well bent. Shown in good hard condition with good coat. Effortless, free movement BOB. 2 Waddington’s Zakova Azera, 5 year old l/w bitch, classic head with slight stop, strong jaw, alert expression, good ear set, good front assembly, well laid shoulders, strong body with good spring of rib, short coupled. Broad wide hips. Moves well with good drive. 3 Coe & Pitman’s INT SH/LUX CH/NL CH/DT CH (VDH)/IR SH CH Pitwit Leeona
