Gundogs

Hungarian Vizsla graduate (2,0)

1/ Bain DUNNYDALS HAJNA IS GRACIOUS. Preferred the overall shape and better angulation of this young bitch, nice size, good head shape and eye, balanced through the body, well set tail. Strong hindquarters and moved well in profile. BOB

2/ Butler SILVESTRE THE RED WOMAN similar in size and build to winner, really liked her head shape and eye. Not quite as well angulated and could be stronger behind. Good coat colour.

1/ Boyd-McNeil & Edwards GWENDARRIFF BEAM ME UP SCOTTY. Precocious youngster who really catches the eye on the stack. Lovely outline and super coat. Head still needs to develop and he has lots of growing up to do of course as he is very much a baby at present. Lots to like at this stage and will be interested to see how he grows on. BOB andPG2

1/ Beck DENMARELLA EVERYDAY THE SUN. Really taken with this lovely pale gold puppy who has lots of ring presence. Nicely shaped head although still some development to come, lovely dark, expressive eye. Really well constructed forehand with good bone and feet complimented by a balanced rear end to give a very pleasing overall shape. Although he did play up on the move, he showed enough when settled to see his good reach in front and drive from his quarters. Close call against his kennel mate in the challenge but more than happy to award him BP and the puppy group and pleased that the main judge also found him to his liking enough to award RBPIS.

Golden Retriever graduate (3,1)

1/ Beck HAPPIER DE RIA VELLA. Masculine head and well shaped, dark eye, well boned straight forelegs and good depth of body on this young man. Would have preferred just a touch more length of leg and more forechest but he showed balance in his angulation. Well set tail, lovely coat and condition and held his outline on the move. BOB and G3.

2/ Holmes & Higgins KELLYWILLOW AUGUSTUS. Not quite the masculinity of first but an honest upstanding male who was presented in good coat and condition.

1/ KELLYWILLOW AUGUSTUS

2/ Douglas &McGuffie MILLTIMBER MOONRIVER. Although I preferred the outline and balance of this male, his head is not his fortune being rather broad in skull and loose in throat. Held a level topline and good tailset, movement let him down and this lost him the class.

Golden retriever open (3,1)

1/ Douglas & McGuffie MILLTIMBER ISLAND MIST. 2 very different styles of male here, this boy had the better front, not so heavy boned as some. Held a good topline and moved out well.

2/ Beck BLUEBRAES BALTIMORE JACK. Preferred the head on this chap, he also held a good topline and moved well

AV gundog veteran(5,0)

1/ Holmes SH CH BALLYRIVER FLASHDANCE. Difficult decision here between 2 top class veterans. This girl has a very feminine head with dark eye of the correct almond shape, clean neck and well constructed body with balanced angulation. She has a lovely breed outline, being racy yet retaining substance, presented in great condition, good muscle tone and moved really well.

2/ Douglas SH CH FERNDEL JUSTIN TIME. Another beautiful dog with super breed type, correct outline and very balanced. Lovely coat. Just found the bitch more positive in hind movement today but this boy is an excellent example of his breed.

3/ Lennox &Morgan WILENMORY ARMANI DIAMOND

AVNSC gundog open (2,0)

1/ Abba HERNWOOD SUMMER LOVIN Nice Gordon Setter male with well proportioned head, reasonable front, enough bone, feet ok. Short body with level topline and well angulated quarters, moved ok. Best AVNSC.

2/ Denwood &Graham BONAPARTIST ORCHID OF LYNDFIL. Brittany bitch with typical head and very appealing expression. Straight forelegs. Looked a bit unbalanced in body as carrying a lot of weight today.

AV gundog open (2,1)

1/ Lennox&Morgan SH CH WILENMORY COLLABRO. Very appealing yellow Labrador bitch although slightly heavy all over. Feminine, well shaped head and soft expression, well boned, feet could be a bit better. Well developed body with correct ribbing, nice free mover which was a pleasure to watch.

GROUP 1 ANNASIDE ROSE MOON, Cocker Spaniel bitch. Very typy and balanced blue roan with super temperament and very well presented. Very nice head shape, clean neck and short cobby body. Moved out well to take the group and later RBIS.

GROUP 2 LYNDFIL ZAZU WSS bitch. Much to like about this girl, really appeals for breed type , lovely head, clean neck and outline, well boned straight forelegs and moved well, another with a super outgoing attitude .

GROUP 3 Golden Retriever

GROUP 4 NEWHORIZON SING IT AGAIN AT BRUADARACH . Young black Labrador bitch, still raw but had a clean, well angulated outline and carried herself well. Won her place here on free movement holding a strong topline.

PUPPY GROUP 1 Golden Retriever

PUPPY GROUP 2 Irish Setter

PUPPY GROUP 3 CHANANGEL YORKSHIRE GOLD TO SANTALLINA, WSS dog. Raw youngster who has a lovely head and eye, super coat colour, still needs to balance out in body but has time on his side.

PUPPY GROUP 4 HIGHTYNE RAMBLING ROSE, FCR bitch. Appealing in head and body proportions although still developing. Very well presented and handled.
