Beagle Club
Many thanks to The Beagle Club committee for the fabulous opportunity and honour to judge at their spring open show. Much appreciation must be given to my very efficient Stewards, Matthew Wenman and Diane Reid; they were both efficient and timely. Special thanks also to the very helpful prize giver Gabriel Raymond, who provided excellent assistance to my stewards. He is a most polite and charming young man, a real credit to his family. Finally, I would like to give thanks to each and every exhibitor who entered under me today, it was a privilege to go over your hounds and all my decisions were taken in good grace.

1. Phillpot’s Charterwood Storm. What a fabulous puppy; this 8 month blanket tri was so charming and really opened the eye to detail. He portrayed a lovely balanced shape with excellent angles fore and aft. Super headpiece outlined with great pigment and long correctly set leathers. On the move, he had accurate footfall moving with drive and carried his stern with pride. Occasionally his rawness got the better of him, but when challenging for BPIS he found a second wind for which I could not deny him top award. BPD & BPIS.
2. Quinney-Spencer’s Quincerhound Oreo Bark. A very raw 6 month blanket tri baby at his first show. A nice length of neck flowing into a nicely angled front. Carries his level topline well on the move, whilst covering plenty of ground. Good bone and stern carried correctly.

He excels on the move with clean and purposeful fore and aft movement whilst covering plenty of ground. Excellent headpiece for his age with a super masculine expression. Good reach of neck into well laid back shoulder. Well off for bone, well sprung rib and excellent muscle-tone. Lovely boy, just needs to sharpen up his concentration.
2. Coates Inrinstyle Eagle in Flight to Gladstyle (Imp Rus). What a super outline this 11 month boy shows on the stack, flowing neck into a perfectly level topline and correct stern. Nicely round bone and depth of chest. Ideal length of loin and quality bend of stifle with good muscle tone. In profile, he covered the ground well. Preferred the expressive head and front movement of 1.

1. Phillips & Keyte’s Lanesend Segenhoe JW Sh.CM. Having judged this lovely boy a number of times now, he never ceases to impress. His verve around the ring and love for showing exudes, and with his skilled handler they are so at one with each other. He has a charming masculine head whilst not overdone or coarse. He has a nice lay back of shoulder, short coupling and strong muscle tone. Considered for top honours.

1. Havard’s Annavah Lady Gaga. A well-presented bitch who is so typical of this kennel. She has a beautiful head and expression. Lovely long reaching neck and level topline. Well-set tail and adequate muscle tone for her age. She moved out well and cleanest front action of the class. Stepped up a gear in the bitch challenge really finding her stride. BPB.
2. Ayres-Cousins Viracocha Onya Marks. Super petite young bitch with the darkest of blankets and pigment. Excellent head piece and nice long leathers. Short loin and super bend of stifle. Moved out well.
PB (4, 1 abs)
1. Coates Gladstyle On A Roll. This lovely feminine bitch who is so pleasing on the eye with a super outline. Excellent length of neck and well laid back shoulder. Super sound front and free stride around the ring. She pushed MPB winner hard in the challenge for BPB, I just felt she was looking a little lean in comparison and not quite the finished picture. This I am sure will come as she grows and matures with age.
2. Ayres-Cousins Viracocha Onya Marks. 2nd in MPB.
JB (7, 2 abs)
1. Henningsson-Dundas’ Julemark Ariadne. Topping two lovely young ladies; this very smart tan and white bitch who presents a pleasing outline on the stack and carried herself so well on the move. She has a wonderful return of upper arm and sits so comfortably over her front legs. This was evident on the move and has such excellent clean and purposeful movement. Very sound coming and going. Considered for top honours.
2. Peak’s Bayard Never Ending Story. Another super sound bitch with an ultra-feminine head. Well laid back should and well bent stifle. She had excellent bone and condition which many of the presented bitches today were lacking. She powered around the ring with super reach and drive. Being ever so picky between these two lovely girls, I simply preferred the front construction and foreface of 1.
YB (5, 0 abs)

1. Wright & Mitchell’s Huntshill Teasel. Litter sister to Tornado, winner of LD. Similar qualities of her brother, especially her well angled front and great return of upper arm. LB (14, 3 abs)
1. Mead’s Rosroden Cherry Kisses. There is no denying the quality picture this bitch presents on the stack. Her outline so classic of her type and correct construction. For me today I felt her qualities were plentiful and for that I could not deny her this class win. She has a delightful head and neck flowing into a short coupled topline with ideal tail set. Tight feet and excellent bone. Covered plenty of ground on the go around.
2. Dawson & Goodall & Harrison’s Rundle Going for Gold. Nicely proportioned tan and white bitch in excellent condition. Good length of upper arm and tight shoulders placed well under her frame. Super quarters. Plenty of ground coverage with reach and drive. Wonderfully handled by her young handler today.
OB (7, 2 abs)
1. Brown’s Raimex Reed Bunting. What a beautiful head this girl has matured into since I last judged her as a minor puppy; an expression to die. Since judging her she has greatly improved especially her carriage on the move and how well she covers the ground. Super long neck and laid back shoulder. Well-muscled quarters and tight, well knuckled feet.
2. Philpott’s Charterwood Fantasy Island. Very sound moving tan and white bitch in hard condition. The pigment of this girls was a little lacking today and portrayed a slightly plainer expression. Great topline and well defined quarters. Really loved this girls movement on both up and down and on the go around which she did soundly and with purpose. Preferred the shoulder and lay-back of 1.
VetB (6, 0 abs)
What a fabulous class this was, just delightful.
1. Peak’s Ch Bayard Make Amends. Not the smallest of girls, but what beautiful moderately proportioned bitch she is. Running my hands over the this girl really gave me a lesson in construction today. She has a super soft head with dark pigment and appealing eye. Super arch of neck leading into well angulated shoulders. She was nicely ribbed back with a short loin and perfectly set tail. Superb muscle tone in her well bent quarters which she used with delight when moving. She did not put a foot wrong. Pleased to award her top honours today. BB & BIS & BVIS.
2. Havard’s Ch Annavah Ginny. Pushing 1 hard all the way this dark blanket tri bitch was another of excellent quality. Darkest of pigment outlining her mild and appealing eyes. Long leathers set on correctly. Excellent length of neck and well sprung ribs. In super hard condition and superb texture of coat. Moving with a sound reach and drive around the ring, she could go all day. Splitting hairs; just preferred the hind action of 1 when on the move. RBB.
VinB (6, 0 abs)
1. Roderick’s Barterhound Razzle. This girl had some oomph today really charging around the ring like she owned it. Not showing her age at all, her head was charming with lovely flewed lips and chiselling leathers. Full body with a well sprung rib and well set stern, which she used enthusiastically.
2. Henningsson-Dundas’ Ch Julemark Hussy. What a delight this mature lady was today, she really is a credit to her owners showing with verve, especially for her 14 years. Her balanced construction was superb and really had the most wonderful front and back angles. Not the leg length of 1.
