BRISTOL & DISTRICT DOG CLUB - OPEN SHOW

Held on: Sunday 24TH MARCH 2019 Judge: Mr. Russell F. Jones (Quemerford)

I had great pleasure in Judging at the above show, although it was quite late before getting in the ring, all exhibitors stayed so it was a good day all round. All exhibits were clean and all had sound temperaments, making for a very pleasing day. So, thank you to the Committee for the invitation and my Stewards for there help throughout the day.

AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD O (Dog or Bitch (3,0), 1 F. & R. Lee, Villanya Wizards Apprentice for Amenbury (Imp): A very pleasing 10mth old tri coloured dog with a nice out-line and of good type. He is well balanced and sound for his age which showed in his movement. Pleased to award him BP, BOB and P.Grp.3. Well done.     2 F. & R. Lee, Amberslade Morse Code for Amenbury: A 3yr old Merle dog with a pleasing out-line and type that is nicely balanced and moved out well. Shame about his gingering.     3 F. & R. Lee, Louis Blanchette at Amenbury: Another Merle coloured dog but 5yrs old. He is well up to size with a pleasing out-line and a nice type, unfortunately did not move as well as the 2 above.

BEARDED COLLIE PG (Dog or Bitch (2,1), 1 Mrs. S Jackson, Bryonyhill Wizzard Wizzes to Crestasan: An 18mths old dog of a pleasing type with a nice out-line shown in plenty of light grey coat. He was a just a little shy to go over and let himself down on the move which was such a shame. Hope with time he settles to the show ring.   

O (Dog or Bitch (3,0), 1 Mrs. K. Axford, Roxilyn Blue Diamond at Bramblemead: An 8mths old bitch shown in lovely puppy coat. She is lovely on the move, keeping her top-line well. Of a lovely type with a nice outline and is well balanced for her age. Pleased to award her BP, BOB, and Puppy Grp.2.

FINNISH LAPPHUND PG (Dog or Bitch (2,0), 1 M. Rudd, Infindigo Lintu Henkka: A really nice dog that needs better handling, more ring training will help. He won this class on his own. He is a fabulous type with a good outline and has superb head properties and is nicely balanced. Could have a good future in the show ring when under control. Awarded him BOB. Unfortunately, didn’t get it together in the group.     2 Mr. M. & Mrs. J. Treasure, Lapinlumon Pilvipouta for Infindigo (Imp. Swe.): A 5yr old pretty brown bitch that is of a pleasing type and out-line. She was enjoying her day out with her handler and moved ok.   

O (Dog or Bitch (4,1), 1 Mr. S. & Mrs. S. Cooper & Mrs. S. Critchlow, Pavoskas Aly Arttu, JW Sh.CM: A dog nearly 3yrs of age, that is a very pleasing with a good out-line and is nicely balanced. He was just pipped for bob today. Moved out well around the ring and made a good picture when he moved.     2 Mr. M. & Mrs. J. Treasure, Infindigo Riemu Emmi, Sh.CM: Dam of my BOB. This 7yr old girl is not showing her age, she is a good type with a pleasing out-line and is well balanced and feminine. Moves well.     3 Mr. M. & Mrs. J. Treasure, Tabanyaruu Karuselli Miika: A dog that gets better with age, now 8.5yrs old, with superb muscles and is in the best of bloom. He is of a nice type with a nice out-line but just a tad long in body. He is a credit to his owners with the condition that he is in. Well done.

LANCASHIRE HEELER PG (Dog or Bitch (2,0), 1 Ms. H. Merrill, Bellsmond Sayen: A 7mth old dog with a lovely out-line and of a super type. I liked him a lot as he is nicely balanced and moved out well. Pleased to award him BP.     2 Bray J., Bellsmond Aylen: Bitch, litter sister to 1st placing and has similar virtues, she just didn’t want to move today. Never mind there will be other days.

O (Dog or Bitch (2,0), First of all thank you for bringing these 2 along as they are the best, I have been over. I loved them both and quite willingly would have taken them both home.     1. Ms. H. Merrill, Ch. Traqdean Midlops Movie Toto: A 8.5yr old dog which you have ask twice how old as you would not guess it. He is very well muscled and has a superb out-line. So typy and beautifully balanced with a lovely top-line. Moved out so very well, pleased to award him BOB.     2 Ms. H. & Mrs. J. Merrill & Gray, Ch. Jazz Mustang Sally Traqdean (Fin. Imp.): A 12yr old bitch of super type with a lovely out-line and super movement. She is outstanding and retained her showiness, was just pipped by 1st on fitness today.

NORWEGIAN BUHUND O (Dog or Bitch (2,0), 1 Mrs. C. Vines, Ch. Ailort Highlander at Parvodene, JW Sh.CM: An 11yr old dog not showing his age. He is a super type with a good out-line and is well balanced. Moved out well. Pleased to award him BOB and later Grp.4.      2 Mr. & Mrs. R. & K., Mrs. A. & Mrs. J. Frost, Treadwell & Walmsley, Trelowen Amelia at Frostisen: A bitch that is just 18mths of age. She is of a pleasing type and has a nice out-line. Needs to settle on the move. Has a very happy temperament.

COLLIE (Rough) PG (Dog or Bitch (4,1), 1 Mrs. Lyall, Santaloly’s Sky Amidalas: A sable/white bitch rising 4yrs of age of a pleasing type with a good out-line and shown in good coat. She is well balanced and moved around the ring freely. Pleased to award her BOB.     2 M. Scamp, Stregato The Maleficent at Marketdene: A 2.5yr old sable/white bitch that is of a pleasing type with a nice out-line. Slightly bigger in size that 1st placing, just didn’t move out quite as well on the day.     3 Mrs. L.K. Morey, Brookynut Stormy Affair: A 2.5yr. old sable/white pleasing type of girl with a nice out-line that was shown in plenty of coat. Just was a little nervous today, pity.

O (Dog or Bitch (3,0), 1 Mrs. Lyall, Santaloly’s Sky Amidalas: As previous class.     2 Mrs. L.K. & Mrs. J. Morey & Aikman, Welanga Bush Tucker with Brookynut, Sh.CM: A tri coloured 6.5yr old dog of good type with a nice out-line and is well balanced. He was shown in excellent coat and I felt should have won today but just did not move out so well.     3 M. Scamp, Aaronwell Ayebeecee: Another tri coloured dog nearly 4yrs of age of a pleasing type shown in good coat. Unfortunately tended to side wind and was rather flat footed.

SHETLAND SHEEPDOG J (Dog or Bitch (2,0), 1 Mr. D. & Mrs. Y. Haensel, Sherkarl Copper Highlights: An 11mths old s/w bitch that is of a lovely type with a good out-line and is so well balanced for her age. Super feminine head. Well off for coat for her age. Moved out well with her handler. Pleased to award her BP and BOB and Grp3 and P.Grp1. Well done, a promising youngster.     2 Mr. & Mrs. S.T. & S.J. Pierce, Philhope Taste of Summer: A 7mths old s/w youngster that is of a very nice type, just pipped today by the 1st. Nicely balanced with a nice out-line, moved well around the ring.

PG (Dog or Bitch (4,1), 1 Mr. & Mrs. S.T. & S.J. Pierce, Philhope Son of a Diva: A 14mths old s/w dog, very nice type, nicely balanced with a nice out-line. Very mature for his age. Moved out well.     2 E.A. Wood, Malaroc Rainydaze: A 22mth old s/w bitch of good type with a nice out-line nicely balanced. Moved well, just a little longer in-loin than 1st.

O (Dog or Bitch (4,1), 1 Mrs. Hirst, Sundark Starlight, Sh.CM: A 10yr old b/m dog with a harsh coat. He has a pleasing out-line and is nicely balanced. Moved out well.     2 Mrs. Hirst, Sundark Sunkist: A 7yr old s/w bitch of good type with a nice out-line. Shown in a nice coat. Moved ok.     3 Mrs. Hirst, Sundark Simply a Star: A 5yr old tri bitch that was just a little cobby, but is pleasing and of good type. Was shown in good coat and moved ok.

AVNSC PASTORAL J (Dog or Bitch) (2,1), 1 D. & D. & A. Hensley & Swift, Zuberg Madin: An 8mths old GSD bitch. She is a lovely type of bitch with a nice out-line and she is well balanced for her age. She was well handled in this ring which may have felt a little restricted for her. Was handled with verve.

PG (Dog or Bitch (6,3), 1 Mr. & Mrs. P.C. Hackney, Starvon Bring It On: A 23mths old Swedish Vallhund dog that is a very pleasing type with a good out-line. Very strong with good hard muscles and is very well balanced. Shown in excellent harsh coat. Moved out well around the ring.     2 Mrs. M. Garland, Tonkory Royale, Sh.CM: A 2.5yrs old b/w Border Collie dog of pleasing type with a nice out-line and well balanced. He is maturing up nicely, just out moved on the day by 1st.     3 Mrs. M. Craker, Rumba Z Kuzni Championow at Crakebrie, (ATC AS0905551): A rising 4yrs of age, Briard bitch of good type and out-line. Light Fawn colour coat, nicely presented. She moved out ok, would have liked to see her hold her top-line better.

O (Dog or Bitch (3,0), 1 D. & D. A. Hensley & Swift, Monksley Yasmin: An extremely good 2yr old GSD bitch that is of a lovely type with a super out-line and is so well balanced. She used the ring to her full advantage. I had no hesitation in awarding her BOB and later Grp.1. Congratulations.     2 Mrs. M. Garland, Tonkory Doyle, J.W. Sh.CM: A 7yr old b/w Border Collie dog that I have always liked. He is a nice type and has a nice out-line and is well balanced. I particularly like his head properties. Moved out well, pity he met the 1st.     3 Mr. & Mrs. P. & C. Hackney, Starvon All About Me: A 3.6yr old Swedish Vallhund dog with an excellent harsh coat. He has a pleasing out-line and is nicely muscled up. Moved out ok on the move.  

AV PASTORAL P (Dog or Bitch) (5,4), 1 Mr. D. & Mrs. Y., Haensel, Sherkarl The Showman: Shetland Sheepdog a 6mth old s/w dog puppy. He is a very pleasing type with a nice out-line and was enjoying his first day out. Moved out well and was nicely balanced for his age.

AV PASTORAL V (Dog or Bitch) (11,3), 1 D. & D. & A., Hensley & Swift, Ch. Monksley Kohana at Zuberg, Sh.CM: A 7yr old GSD dog with a superb out-line and so full of type. Moved a treat around the ring, so sound on the move. Pleased to award him Best Veteran. A joy to see him in the move.     2 Mrs. C. Vines, Ch. Ailort Highlander at Parvodene, J.W. Sh.CM: Nor. Buhund as before.     3 Mr. M. & Mrs. M. Treasure, Tabanyaeuu Karusselli Millka: Fin. Lapp. as before.     4 Mrs. M. Garland, Tonkory Doyle, J.W. Sh.CM: Border Collie dog as before.

PASTORAL GROUP 1. D. & D. A. Hensley & Swift, Monksley Yasmin: GSD. Bitch.     2. M. & Mrs. Burgoyne & Goddard, Waterdeep Ranger One, JW: Cardigan Corgi. A 2.5yr old dog of a dark brindle colour. He is of excellent type with a good out-line and is good on the move. Finishing with a proper tail. Looked well, I liked him.     3. Mr. D. & Mrs. Y. Haensel, Sherkarl Copper Highlights: Shetland Sheepdog, Bitch     4. Mrs. C. Vines, Ch. Ailort Highlander at Parvodene, J.W. Sh.CM: Nor. Buhund Dog.

PASTORAL PUPPY GROUP 1. Mr. D. & Mrs. Y. Haensel, Sherkarl Copper Highlights: Shetland Sheepdog, Bitch.     2. Mrs. K. Axford, Roxilyn Blue Diamond at Bramblemead: Bearded Collie, Bitch.     3. Mrs. M. Lee, Villanya Wizards Apprentice for Amesbury, (Imp): Australian Shepherd, Dog.
