WELSH CORGI CLUB SUB GROUP - OPEN SHOW Held on:

Saturday 24TH MARCH 2019 Judge: Mr. Russell F. Jones (Quemerford)

Thank you for the invite to Judge at your Club Open Show, it was held at a very pleasing venue and although judging was held in-side we had great weather. I would like to thank my ring steward who kept the ring going all day and the exhibitors for giving me the entry and taking their places with grace. I thoroughly enjoyed my day with you all.

PEMBROKE CORGI MPD (2,0), 1 Mrs. Mary Davies, Ermyn Snazzy Jazz: 1st and 2nd were litter brothers. This 8mth old red and white dog is of a pleasing type with a good outline and held his top-line on the move. He also had a pleasing head, neck and front, with plenty of muscle on the rear.   2 Mrs. M.H> Davies, Ermyn Razzle Dazzle: This 8mth old red headed tri was unsettled on the move. He is a very pleasing type with a nice outline and pleasing to the eye. His front is a little wider at present, but his head looks better at this time. Just needs to settle on the move. Time is on his side.      

PD (2,1), 1 Coulson, Camboni, Malagre, Mr. BJ. & Mrs. S., Mme E., Mme K., Oye- Dragoon - Willow Des Contamines at Woodhenge (Imp Fr): A super 10mths old red and white dog with loads of ring presence. He has a super head with a good expression and ear set. Good length of neck and superb front of good construction. Good top line and tail-set, super back end and stance. Pleased to award him BPD, BP in Breed, BD and Res. Best of Breed. A dog with a very good future.    

JD (1,0) 1 Mrs. S. Webb, Corland Nighthawk: A 18mth old red headed tri was of a pleasing type and out-line. He has a good bite and eye; nice length of neck and his top-line is ok. He moved out ok around the ring.      

PGD (1,0) 1 Ms. L. Morgan, Fairysaddle Sir Alfred: A 2yr old red and white dog that likes his food. He has a pleasing head and keeps his top-line on the move. Unfortunately, his front legs cross over, but his side movement looks ok.    

LD (3,0), 1 Mrs. S. Webb, Pemcader Hogan Hero: A 5yr old red and white that is a pleasing type with a nice out-line and was the best mover in this class. Just felt that the top-line could have been better.     2 Mrs. Warner, MEITZA Erik The King, JW: A 2yr old red headed tri that has better out-line than 1st, but is a pleasing type with a nice head and top-line. But unfortunately, his move-ment let him down today.    3 Mr. W. and Mrs. B.A. Aylott, Barwal Blazing Dersert: A 6yr old red and white that unfortunately has a dippy back which showed on the move. Overall, he is a pleasing type with a pleasing head. Would like to have had a stronger neck.    

OD (3,0), 1 Miss A. Rees, Stadwen Lancelot: A 4yr old red and white dog with a good head and neck, I liked his front and rear and his strong top-line. Moved out well and is of excellent type with good out-line. Pleased to award him Res. Best Dog.    2 Mr. D.W. Jones, Ceranda Surfs Up: A 5yr old red headed tri dog that has a pleasing outline and kept his top-line on the move.     3 Miss A. Morgan, Jahshaus All That Jazz at Davalis, Sh.CM: An 8yr old red and white that is of a pleasing type with a nice out-line and a nice head. Unfortunately, he is rather stilted in rear movement.

VB (2,1), 1 Mr. W. and Mrs. B.A. Aylott, Barwal Belle: A 12yr old red headed tri bitch that was enjoying her day out. Showing her age now but she is a pleasing type with a nice out-line and steady on the move. Pleased to award her BVB and BV in Breed.    

LB (1,0), 1 Miss M. Garrett, Jahnshaus Jenny Wren Beaumilands: A 7yr old sable and white bitch that had rather round eyes. Her movement I felt could have been better, which was a shame as she was rather a nice type.    

OB (6,1), 1 Mr. & Mrs. B.J. Coulson, Woodhenge Storm Princess NBT: A 2yr old red and white bitch that I just loved. Really super type, very neat with a great out-line and stance. Great head, very alert with sweet expression and nice neck, super top-line and great back-end. Moved out well around the ring. Pleased to award her BB and BOB.     2 Mr. D.A & W. Rees, Stadwen Rosina: A 3.5yr old red and white that is also of super quality. Lovely out-line and type with super head and neck. Good top-line and back end. Moved well, pleased to award her Res. BB.     3 Miss K. Newton, Ch. Corland Solitaire: Another good 3.5yr old red headed tri making a trio of super bitches. This one also has a good out-line and is of a super type, just did not move as well today as the 2 above.

CARDIGAN CORGI VD (1,0), 1 Messrs. B.J. & H.D. Essenhigh & Bishop, Ch. Brynlluan Bilbo Bagins: A 7.5yr old brindle boy absolutely as sound as a bell. He is of a fabulous type with a great out-line and stance. A dog with a super head and great expression, good length of neck, lovely top-line and good angles fore and aft. His movement was outstanding on the day, pleased to award him BV, BD and BOB. A joy to judge, many congratulations.

PD (2,1), 1 Mrs. R. Evans, Kilvroch Caradog of Lidoffad: A 10mth old brindle boy with a good out-line and he is of a good type. Well grown for age with a good head and nice expression, good neck and front with a nice top-line and back end. Moved out ok, pleased to award him BPD and BP in Breed. Well done.

JD (2,0), 1 Messrs B.J. & H.D. Essenhigh & Bishop, Hundahilli Bulleyana for Brynlluan): A 12mth old brindle boy that is very smart and eye catching. Has a lovely out-line and is a good type, has a pleasing head, nice neck and front and lovely top-line which he kept on the move. Strong rear movement and stance. Pleased to award him Res. BD and Res. BOB. Very promising.     2 Mrs. C.A. Langford, Caprian Challenger: Another brindle dog just over 12mths of age slightly longer cast than 1st with not quite as much substance on the day. He has a pleasing head and neck and nice back end. Moved out ok.

PGD (4,1), 1 Mrs. L. Siviter, Rubegud Takin The Mick, Sh.CM: A 5.5yr old brindle dog that is a pleasing type with a good out-line and plenty of substance. Pleasing head and expression, nice front and top-line and good back end. Moved out ok.    2 Mrs. C.A. Langford, Caprian Challenger: As above, previous class.    3 Mrs. J.A. James, Caprian Dexter at Bwthyn: A black & white dog just over 12mths of age, unfortunately let himself down on the movement today. He is still up on his legs at the moment and tended to throw his front. His front still needs to drop.  

LD (3,1), 1 Mrs. C.A. Langford, Twinan All Revved Up of Caprian: A 2.75yr old brindle dog of pleasing type and out-line. Pleasing head and front, neck could be better. Held his top-line ok and moved out well.     2 Mrs. H. Sanders, Gowerston Genaur Glyn: A 2.5yr old merle coloured dog that is very pleasing to look at. Loved his half-and-half eye colouring. He is a very pleasing type with a nice out-line, unfortunately he just didn’t want to move today.

OD (1,0), 1 Mrs. J.A. James, Bwthyn All Rights Reserved: A 4yr old happy brindle dog of a pleasing type with a nice out-line. Nice head and neck and pleasing top-line and back end. Went well on the day.

VB (5,2), 1 Mesdames E. & M, Eby & Taylor, Ch. Kilvroch Enchantress: A class of brindle bitches. An 8yr old who nearly threw the class away. She is a lovely type, very feminine with a lovely out-line and temperament. She has a good head and neck and good front, superb top-line and good back end. She moved out well in the ring in the end to gain BVB.    2 Mrs. B. Price, Belroyd Pemcader Menna: A 10yr old brindle coloured bitch that was just pipped by 1st today. She is a pleasing type with a nice out-line, a pleasing head and expression, neck and top-line. Neat rear, moved out ok.     3 Mrs. J.A. James, Kerman Copyright of Sturtmoor: This brindle was the baby of the class just 7yrs of age. She is of pleasing type with a pleasing out-line, just out pipped by the two above on the day.  

PB (3,1), 1 Mrs. J.A. James, Bwthyn Hopes and Dreams: A 10mth old brindle girl with loads of personality. She is of a lovely type with a good out-line and was thoroughly enjoying herself with not a care in the world. She has a nice feminine head, neat front and lovely top-line which she keeps on the move. Pleased to award her PB and Res. BB.     2 Mesdames E. & M., Eby & Taylor, Kilvroch Cariad: Another 10mth old brindle that is of a nice type, that just needs to come on a little compared to 1st placing. Moved well.

JB (2,1), 1 Mrs. CA. Langford, Caprian The Vixen, JW: A 14mth old brindle girl that I absolutely fell in love with and would have quite easily taken her home. She has a fabulous out-line and is of a superb type, with a feminine head with the sweetest expression, lovely strong neck and front. Excellent top-line, great back end and tail to die for, unfortunately she did not want to move today.

PG (4,2), 1 Mrs. F. Belcher, Effybid Rubie: A 2.6yr old brindle girl that is of a pleasing type with a nice out-line. Moved the best in this class and kept her top-line on the move.     2 Mr. A. & Mrs. S. Morris, Kilvroch Celidora at Cwnmeurig: Another 2.5yr old brindle that is of a nice type with a nice out-line. Did not move as well as 1st today.

LB (5,1), 1 Mrs. C.A. Langford, Bwthyn Press Release of Caprian: A very nice 4.5yr old brindle girl that has a pleasing head and is also very feminine. Nice type, good neck, also good out-line. Stood and showed well. Moved out around the ring. Pleased to award her BB.     2 Mrs. H Head, Kilvroch Mystikos for Millermead, JW: A 20mth old brindle that was just pipped today by 1st today. Has a nice out-line and is of a good type, with good head, neck and neat front. Moved out well going around the ring.     3 Mrs. B. Price, Brynlluan Magic Crystal: A 3.75 yr old red and white bitch with a nice out-line and shape. Felt her bite could be better and her eyes were rather round. Moved out ok.    4 J. Keeble, Keebleway Blue Heven.

OB (4,2), 1 Mrs. J. Keeble, Sichaz Lexi to Keebleway: A nice 6.5yr old brindle girl that is of a pleasing type with a pleasing outline. Nice head, and neck, good back end which she used on the moved.     2 Mrs. J.A. James, Bwthyn Hot From the Press: A 4.5yr old brindle, that was just let down by movement today. She is of a nice type with a nice out-line, a good all-round honest bitch. __________
