GUILDFORD & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY – Open Show Held on: Sunday 8th December 2019

FINNISH LAPPHUND I had the pleasure to judge Finnish Lapphund at the above show. This is a well-run show with a very busy and happy committee. I had a spacious ring to move the dogs in although there were some distracting objects in-bedded in the sandy floor, which some exhibits found. A super idea to have the ring tape on the floor. This is a lovely breed to judge and I was pleased with the cleanliness and presentation of the exhibits. So, thank you for a super entry today. Also, to the Committee for the invitation and hospitality on the day.

PD/B (4,1), 1 Mr. A. Lee, Kaijartuu Ihmissusi: A dark coated 10mth old dog that is well grown for his age and pleasing on the eye. He has a good out-line and is of a nice type, with a good size masculine head. Liked his eyes and his clean scissor bite. Neat muzzle and good skull and nice ear-set. Good length of neck, well placed withers and neat front.  Plenty of bone, strong back, nice rear angles, tail set and neat hocks. He moved superbly around the ring for one so young and was well handled. Pleased to award him BOB and BP. Well done.    2 Mr. D., Mrs. J. & Ms. L. Beaumont & Mowatt, Tabanyaruu Unelma Hannele: An 8mth old bitch that I liked a lot, did not move quite as well as 1st, was interested with what was on the floor, but that’s puppies. She is very feminine with a sweet expression and of a very nice type. She has a good out-line and was also very pleasing on the eye. Shown in a dark coloured coat. Should do well with time.    3 Miss. A. Fowler, Tabanyaruu Unelma Kukinta: Litter sister to 2nd and has very similar virtues, was better on the move today, but is not quite as feminine and is slightly longer in the loin. Another very nice youngster.

JD/B (2,0), 1 Mr. D., Mrs. J. & Ms. L. Beaumont & Mowatt, Tabanyaruu Unelma Hannele: As above.   2 Miss. A. Fowler, Tabanyaruu Unelma Kukinta: As above

PGD/B (6,1), 1 Mr. D., Mrs. J. & Ms. L. Beaumont & Mowatt, Lecibsin Meikki Of Tabanyaruu, (Imp. Fin.): A 6yr old bitch of good type and out-line that I liked a lot. She pushed for the top spot, was pleased to award her Res. BOB. Shown in a very harsh coat and moved out well.     2 Mr. D., Mrs. J. & Ms. L. Beaumont & Mowatt, Tabanyaruu Pilvi Tildakoi: A 3.6yr old bitch with a light brown coloured coat that is a little bigger than 1st. Not quite the out-line of 1st. Moved well around the ring.    3 Mrs. S.H.A. Lock, Pikkuihme Tahtipoly: A 22mth old bitch that moves well. Felt her top-line could be better which is a shame as she is quite pleasing to hand.    4 Mrs. S.B. Graystone, Morval Helina Keiju: Bitch.

OD/B (3,2), 1 Mrs. S.B. Graystone, Keskiyo Kohtalo: A 4yr old bitch that stood alone in this class. She is well coated and moves well. I felt today she could have been better presented to show off more of her virtues.
