Thank you to the committee of Coventry (Foleshill) Canine Association for inviting me to judge Papillon at their open show. Thanks also to my stewards who kept the classes moving well.

All exhibits were well presented and thank you to the exhibitors who accepted my decisions sportingly. Interestingly, yet again in this breed, I found my BoB in a veteran.

Papillon

P (1,0) 1. Milton's Ookimimi Over The Moon With Papdemonium: Just 6 months Red & white bitch at her first show. Still looking a bit raw, but she has plenty of time. Correct slightly rounded skull with a good ear set. Nice dark, round eyes and good pigment. Well laid shoulder and good level top line. A little loose in front at the moment, but she has time to mature Movement was a bit erratic and she dropped her tail occasionally, possibly due to the surroundings which were quite noisy. BP

PG (8,0) 1. Hedley's Yeldaeh Simply Red: 22 month old, red & white dog presented in excellent condition. He caught my eye in what was the biggest class. Skull slightly rounded between ears, finely pointed muzzle with a well defined stop. Good dark, round eyes. Correct scissor bite. Well placed ears used to advantage at all times,.and correct length of neck. Sloping shoulder, reasonably well sprung ribs and a level top line. Good turn of stifle. Tail carried over his back at all times. Movement good, if a bit loose in front. RBOB 2. Hedley's Yeldaeh Lady In Red: 22 month old, red & white bitch. This turned out to be the litter sister of 1 and much of the same comments apply. Her slight lack of maturity compared to her brother, meant she had to settle for second today . 3. Goodwin's Melangel Fabulous Man For Paplene

O (6,1) 1. Scovell's Frasermar Explosion At Caswell: 9yr old tri dog hown in superb condition. Skull slightly rounded between ears, finely pointed muzzle with a well defined stop.Well placed ears used to advantage at all times. Medium size, round eyes with good pigment. Medium length of neck leading to a well laid shoulder with a level top line. Well sprung ribs and good length of loin. Well turned stifle. Tail carried over his back at all times. Movement OK, presenting a nicely balanced dog. Pleased to award him BOB. 2. Geary's Taliesyn Black Walnut: 3 yr old tri dog, whom I have judged before. Skull slightly rounded between ears, finely pointed muzzle with a well defined stop. Good scissor bite. Round eyes with good pigment. Well placed ears and correct length of neck. Sloping shoulder, reasonably well sprung ribs and good top line. Moved a little close behind. 3. Headley's Farleysbane Firefly At Lafford
