English Ibizan Hound Club

The Hunting Dogs of Ancient Egypt Open Show

Hosted by the English Ibizan Hound Club

30th August 2019

I am very grateful to the English Ibizan Hound Club for inviting me to just Basenji, Stakes and BIS at their show. Appreciative of the high quality of exhibits across the breeds and delighted with by top winners.

Basenji

Junior D/B (4,1 absent)

1st Hardy & Hallams Tokaji Walking in Memphis

9 months.  Handsome male   with super earset, masculine expression, clean bone, long neck with good crest, sound mover, lovely square outline which totally filled my eye, very promising

2nd Hudsons Tokaji Moon Over Miami with Mutoko

Litter brother to winner. Scored in head shape and ear set. Pleasing on the move but not wuite to topline of winner.

3rd Davis & Sandfords Memetuka Hot N’Spicy

Not disgraced in this position. Very pleasing overall shape and quite smart on the move. Not quite the overall picture of the winner just yet but he has ample time to mature.

Post Graduate D/B (1)

1st Hardy & Hallams Tokaji Nashville Rebel

BOB and Best Puppy in breed.

Very typical, attractive head & expression, lovely small ears, super clean bone, developing chest, short back, well set tail. Very together on the move, covered the ground well, a winning combination of type & quality

Open Bitch (1)

1st Hardy & Hallams Ch Tokaji Klassic Trinity JW.

BOS. Top class bitch, very good outline, used her ears well, deep chest, very good tail & shelf.  On the day preferred the hind action of the Post Graduate Dog winner.

AV Brace

1st Carters Ibizan Hounds

Very well matched pair who moved well together. Both scored in good head and expression and outline.

2nd Harthills Pharaoh Hounds

Lovely happy brace. Moved well in harmony. Close up to winner.

BIS – Lundqvist, Lundqvist-Hemstroms– Ch Antefa’s Yosofin (Pharaoh Hound)

A high quality bitch  - very good on the move and  with great style. Shown in greatcondition and good muscle tone. Good head planes, well set ears and very good forehand with some forechest and well laid shoulders. Well ribbed. Good topline and moderate cut up. Strong moderately angulated hindquarters.

RBIS & BPIS - Hardy & Hallams Tokaji Nashville Rebel (Basenji)

Very typical, attractive head & expression, lovely small ears, super clean bone, developing chest, short back, well set tail. Very together on the move, covered the ground well, a winning combination of type & quality.

RBPIS – Reynolds’ Bazinga Gaszing At Haley’s Comet (Imp Nor)

A really lovely puppy of some quality, style and promise. Good head and large, mobile ears. Strong, nicely arched neck and good shoulders. Adequate spring of rib and excellent topline and tail set. Good legs and feet. Moved out well with a sound fluid action.

BVIS – Hartill’s Ch Islephar Strike A Pose at Ynchreenoo. 10 year old who  has a lovely outline and feminine head and expression. Moved well.

Junior Handling 6-11 years

1st Maisie Allenby (Ibizan Hound)

I could not fault her excellent handling of her Ibizan , she presented efficiently & unobtrusively & on the move she was faultless. Quiet & sympathetic, one always noticed the dog not the handler which to me is the essence of a true dog handler

2nd Zoe Hudson ( Basenji)

Another excellent handler but not quite the precision of winner

Junior Handling 12-16

1st Brian Keeley (Ibizan Hound)

Accomplished handler who made the best of his dog.
