Evesham & District Canine Society Premier Open Show 

Sunday 14th July 

I would like to thank the Society for inviting me to judge BIS at this prestigious show and for their hospitality throughout the day. It was a very enjoyable day and the final selection in Adults, Puppies and Veterans very tough. 

Best in Show – Curtis’ Verumamicus Aurora of Brakemill  - Skye Terrier. Very impressive 19 month old bitch who is just stunning when standing  and also when on the move. A class act in everyt wat - excelled in head and furnishings, nicely arched neck and good forehand. Well ribbed with firm level topline and well set and carried tail. Strong well angulated hindquarters which she used to best advantage on the move. Good quality jacket which was presented to best advantage. Could not be denied BIS. 

Reserve Best in Show- Marshall’s Arabesque At Devonia (Imp Rus) – Keeshond  I was so very taken by this 11 month old. The most stunning puppy I have seen for some time – in any breed. Just takes your breathe away. She is so very balanced in outline with a super feminine head and expression. Dark almond shaped eyes and such expressive, neat, ears. Lovely dark muzzle and correct bite. Decent neck into well made shoulders . Straight nicely boned legs, feet ok. Nice rib and body for age, level topline. Nicely muscled quarters for her age. Scores on the move with brisk straight gait fore and aft and holds herself so well in profile. I will follow her career with interest. No hesitation in awarding her BP and BOB (in the breed)  and, later in the day, BPIS & RBIS. 

Best Puppy in Show - Marshall’s Arabesque At Devonia (Imp Rus) – Keeshond   

Reserve Best Puppy in Show Mottrams Antos Via Rivendall At Mybeards – Polish Lowland Sheepdog. 7 month old bitch -  Cracking head and expression, lovely eyes and ears flowing into excellent neck and quarters. Lovely topline which is held on the move. Well made to do a days work . nicely boned yet still feminine. True 9:10 body proportions. Excellent ribbing and carrying the right amount of weight. Strong pasterns and hocks. She really impressed with her animated movement. Excellent coat length and texture for her age. Should have a very bright future. Handled to best advantage.  

Best Veteran in Show – Robbs Ch/Int/Bel/Lux Ger/NL Ch Under Icewolfs Star Inditarod JW ShCM – Alaskan Malamute. Almost ten years of age yet looked half this. Most impressive from all angles on the stack and a really good mover with very typical sled dog action giving an impression of stamina and efficiency, masculine build and appearance with well finished body, excellent ribbing, strong powerful loin of correct length, a most eye catching exhibit and a real ambassador for the breed. 

Reserve Best Veteran in Show – Deuchars Ch/Bel Ch Tonylynn’s Charles Lafitte – Norwegian Buhund – 12 years of age and still looking and showing as well as he’s ever done. Credit to his owner/handler for keeping him in this form. Classic wedge head with nice dark eye and excellent ears. Medium neck, deep, functional chest, good front angulation, Moderate bone and good feet. Firm topline, short loins and excellent quarters. Moved well – especially for his age – credit to the longevity of the breed.

1st Bartletts Orlandino Maxima At Gustafski (Imp Rus) -Russian Toy. 

Lovely head and expression, scored in eye shape and ear set. Shown in good condition, balanced angulation front and rear, easy ground covering parallel gait. Best AV Import Register. 

AV IMPORTED REGISTER PPEN DOG/BITCH (5,3) 

1st Stilgoes Perdizcyo Beatrix Teisgol -Portuguese Pointer     A medium size dog, strong well muscled in body. Head is in proportion to his body, strong slightly arched neck, good well angulated shoulders, and good upper arm angulation. Res Best AV Imported Register. 

2nd Stilgoes Just Angel Dalia At Gustafski (Lat Imp) - Russian Toy  . Very pleasing standing and decent head and expression. Would prefer an improved front construction. 

AV RARE BREED PUPPY DOG/BITCH(4,3) 

1st Janes Tsoyu Otakahime Go - Japanese Akita Inu. Well proportioned bitch with pleasing head shape and neck. Weak forequarters. Needs time to get familiar with showing. 

AV RARE BREED JUNIOR DOG/BITCH (6,4) 

1st Thornleys Locheil Stop Right There -Jack Russell Terrier. Very pleasing type. Very good good head. Strong muzzle. Ok neck. Well laid shoulder. Well ribbed back. Good rear and movement 

2nd Byrnes Harpan Charlotte Bay - Canadian Eskimo Dog . Feminine and well proportioned. Lovely head and expression with good proportions. Not moving as well in front on the day.

1st Gilder & Duncans Goodsouls Mr Brightside - German Pinscher .A cracking 2 yr old black and tan male. Presented in superb condition with decent head with correct depth of muzzle and stop. Scored in eye shape/colour and ear set. Well made forequarters. Well balanced throughout . Moved OK 

2nd Frankcoms Genetika Tiny Tom Thumb – Kooikerhonjde . Honest example of the breed with decent head and expression. Well made in body and decent coat.  

3rd Smiths Locheil Talk of The Town – Jack Russell Terrier

1st Didio’s Kinabula Forlani Of Kushka – Cirneco Dell’Etna .Upstanding male with a lovely head and expression. Correct earws. Good neck into decent forequarters. Quality body and hindquarters. Moved well.  

2nd Lane & Sandell Barks Goldsands Kulawand Skip N Go Naked – Jack Russell Terrier .Good shape and spirit. Good head and expression. Well constructed and moved OK 

3rd Bennet & Chapmans Tsoyu Murasaki Go – Japanese Akita Inu

1st Brooks’ Loofahsa Hugger Mugger. 13 month old bitch who presented a good outline. Well balanced and with a decent head and expression. Scored in ear set and eyes. Strong and well proportioned body and strode out. BOB

Open Dog/Bitch (1) 

1st Busbys Calvenance Minnie Ha-Ha At Zakby ShCM Different in type to BOB. Good head and correct bite. Strong neck and body. Decent body and OK tail set Not quite the precision in front action. RBOB

Puppy Dog/Bicth (2) 

1st Smiths Rajarani Christmas Rose  -9 months of age and a nicely made young bitch. Promising head with expressive eyes and ears, good neck and tidy shoulders. Nicely proportioned and presented a good picture standing and on the move. Best Puppy  

2nd Mathesons Thistleglen Zuni  -7 months of age and not quite the confidence of winner. Well made throughout and with an attractive head. Moved nicely 

Post Graduate Dog/Bicth (3) 

1st Samuels Bridus Ukkonen ShCM  - A nicely made and well built male, strong bone and in good coat. Moderate angulation front and rear, and strong defined neck. Very attractive head, good width to skull, and gentle rounded fore face with good stop. Short strong muzzle and good underjaw. Lovely neck and body. Moved well 

2nd Greenlands Skimarque Kesatuuli of Rajarani  - Another nicely made male with expressive ears and eyes. Carrying enough weight . Moved well 

3rd Mathesons Thistelglen Wilma 

Open Dog/Bitch (5, 1) 

1st Lloyds Arianrhod Kirrinkurri BOB  -Very typical shape, just off square, masculine bone without being over done. Pleasing angulation front and rear with medium neck, and high set tail. Lovely head, broad skull with neat wide set ears, correct oval eye of brown, to give soft expression. Good fill under eye, and stop, short muzzle with good underjaw. Effortless on move for his 11 years.  

2nd Lloyds Ir Ch Arianrhod Finntroll JW RBOB  -Also presented a good profile but preferred the head and expression of the winner. Moved equally well.

1st Paterson & Wests Ch Starvon Wishful Thinking.  8 year old male who didn’t look his age. Very masculine outlook, strong head with expressive ears and eyes. Decent neck into well made forequarters. Level topline and strong hindquarters. Moved soundly. BOB

3rd Rose’s Rossvale Endeavour To Esorkees 

Open Dog/Bitch (4,1) 

1st Lindsays Ch Cosmic Dream’s Damm You Look Good For Mezanda (imp Nor) . Bitch of a beautiful coat colour with dark and light contrast, good front with moderate neck set on Correct angled shoulders, level short back leading to strong rear. Well set high tail moved very well. Exuberant and friendly.  Never stopped showing the whole time – pleased to award her RBOB 

2nd Marshalls Torrikees Made In Heaven At Devonia  . Sound bitch on the move with a good coat of clear colour and required markings.  Well- made front with good bone and feet. Neat ears set well, dark eye and good dentition.  Moved soundly 

3rd Rose’s Ch Rossvale Master of Destiny For Esorkees
