I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for inviting me to judge at this show. It was a pleasure to judge such quality exhibits in all breeds, and every dog was so well behaved and well presented. My thanks also to those who exhibited under me and allowed me the honour of judging your dogs. I was very impressed with the way the majority of the dogs coped with the less than ideal conditions in the ring.

English Toy Terriers

Puppy 3:0

1st Mrs Z E Clarke- Roseofpern A Star Is Born – RBOB & BPIB

8 month bitch very well presented. Wedge shape profile to head. Correct colouring throughout. Candle flame ears which were well set. Neck long and elegant and flowing into shoulders. Level topline falling to root of tail. Correct front. Feet small, neat and compact. Moved with the correct fore-movement

2nd Miss L L Allsop – Peluglas Worth The Wait

9 month dog very strong in the head. Longer coupled than 1st and carrying more condition. Correct colouring throughout. Ears well set. Good front and moved reasonably well

3rd Miss L L Allsop – Peluglas Nothing Nicer

Junior 3:2

1st Mrs J Jolley – Witchstone Odds On Favourite At Dekobras

15 month dog with lovely head which was wedged in profile. Very good front. Elegant neck flowing into shoulders. Level topline falling to root of tail. Feet small, neat and compact. Appeared a little tucked up

Post Graduate 4:2

1st Mrs Z E Clarke – Roseofpern Starman

2 year old dog well presented, nicely coupled. Correct wedge shaped head and correct colouring throughout. Candle flame ears which were well set. Correct front and elegant neck which flowed into shoulders. Very good gait giving the impression of being akin to an extended trot

2nd Mrs J Jolley – Lasagesse Wonderwall At Dekobas

15 month dog, again well presented. Of good type and a little larger than 1st. Correct colouration throughout. Although front was correct his movement was not as good as 1st, which may have been down to the ring conditions

1st Miss L L Allsop – Peluglas Naughty But Nice – BOB

17 month bitch. What a super exhibit! Has the most gorgeous head and dark eye with well set candle flame ears. Elegant neck flowing into well laid shoulders. Front legs straight and elbows close. Feet small, neat and compact. Moved with such a free gait. Had a good length to level topline with correct fall away to root of tail with just the right amount of tuck

Puppy 2:0

1st Mrs H Marchbank – Havieras Shiny Shinx

6 month black and white bitch in very good coat. Small and sturdy in appearance. Head correctly proportioned, eyes dark. Correct proportions from the ground. Slightly longer in length than height. Moved out well

2nd Ms D Owens – Newtonwood Class Act

9 month black and white bitch. More mature in coat. Correctly proportioned with a very good head and dark eye. Not moving today, was leaning on the lead

Junior 4:1

1st Mrs H Marchbank – Versailles Senor Theodore BPIB

9 month black and tan dog with very good proportions. Coat is coming through. Small and sturdy in appearance but a little longer in length than height. Feet small and tight. Once he settled he moved out with a springy step and parallel movement

2nd Mr M Charles – Newtonwood A Touch of Class

9 month cream dog in very good coat. Shorter coupled than 1st and well proportioned throughout. Feet small and tight. Correct pigmentation. Just didn’t move out as well as 1st

3rd Ms D Owens – Newtonwood Class Act

1st Miss K Smith – Tiggafield Ebony Eyes – BOB

2 ½ year cream bitch in excellent coat and condition. Great pigmentation. Correct proportions throughout. Was all I would want from the breed. Small and sturdy in appearance, straight forelegs, feet small, tight and hare like. Level topline, well sprung ribs. Moved with an effortless springy gait

Junior 5:0

1ST Mrs T Billington – Bamtybo Bonbon Avec Yrieix – BOB

12 month black and tan bitch of such excellent quality. Well balanced, sturdy, compact and elegant. Head elongated with flat skull. Ears set on high. Neck strong but graceful and well fitted into shoulders. Fantastic front, body square, ribs well sprung with back line straight. Moved with the correct hackney gait. I understand this gained this bitch her final points for her JW

2nd Mrs A J Bagshaw – Bamtybo Rosy Apple

12 month black and tan bitch, litter sister to 1st. So many of the same attributes and on another day could easily change places. Only lost out as didn’t cope with the ring conditions as well as 1st

3rd Mrs S Twigg – Monarkle Fire N’Ice At Teffys BPIB & TPG2

11 month red bitch who has yet to mature. Of very good type and very well deserving of 3rd in this class. Well balanced, sturdy, compact and elegant. Very good front, body square, ribs well sprung with back line straight. Moved out well and was pleased to see her awarded TPG2

Post Graduate 5:0

1st Mrs A Bagshaw – Bamtybo Blackjack – RBOB

12 month black and tan dog, litter brother to 1st and 2nd in Junior. So many attributes of his siblings but was outshone by his sister in movement and presentation

2nd Mrs S Twigg – Bamtybo Dark Lord AT Teffys

2 year old black and tan dog. Well balanced, sturdy, compact and elegant. Very good head. Correct front and moved well. Just has a tendency to overstretch when stood which spoils the picture

3rd Mr C Gullon – Barnfall Goodtime Gary

1st Mrs C Parker – Ch Vardenais Lumos

2 year old red dog of very good type. Well balanced, sturdy, compact and elegant. Correct head with high set ears. Neck strong yet graceful and well fitted into shoulders. Well developed forechest with straight front legs. Body square with straight back line. Ribs well sprung. Maintains a level back line on the move but has a tendency to overstretch stood

Papillon

Puppy 2:0

1ST Mrs C P Lees – Lafford Golden Child – BPIB & TPG3

9 month red sable bitch in excellent coat. Fine and dainty as the standard requires. The most gorgeous head with the sweetest expression. Lovely pigmentation. Well developed forequarters and sloping. Level topline maintained at all times. Tail well set on. Has a very bright future ahead. Pleased to see her awarded TPG3

2nd C D Anderson – Papretty I Want A Hero

7 month red sable dog very much in the raw. Coat yet to develop but is coming. Very strong in the head. Head is very nicely marked around a narrow blaze. Ears correctly set. Tail set is okay. Just wasn’t settled today

Junior 1:0

1st Mrs R Cordon – Zoloto Oscar The First

16 month tri dog in full coat. Fantastic head which was so nicely marked. Fine and dainty in bone with a very good tail set. Moved so soundly. Shame that he is just over the height

1st Mrs K Maskell - Kazkell Milo’s Dream JW

21 month tri bitch who has matured on nicely. Has an excellent coat which was very well presented. Small and dainty as the standard requires. Correct proportions throughout. Has the sweetest of expressions. Covered the ground so well

2nd Mr T R & Mrs C Headley – Yeldaeh Simply Red

18 month red sable dog in very good coat. Has a lovely head and eye. Longer coupled than 1st but still on the dainty side. Tail set was not as good as 1st. Moved out soundly

3rd C D Anderson – Papprety Luck Be A Lady

1st Mrs J Wiggins – Rozamie Monsieur Arthur For Scapafield JW – BOB & TG1

3 year old red sable dog in excellent coat and condition. Last judged him in 2016 when he was still in the raw and he has really matured. Although he is almost solid in head markings which can give a snipey appearance he has the most wonderful head. Correctly placed, mobile, well fringed ears which he uses to advantage. Such a proud and confident bearing. Fine and dainty with correct hare feet. Level topline maintained at all times, movement was a joy to watch. Tail set correct, he just couldn’t be ignored. So pleased to see him awarded TG1

2nd Mrs K Maskell – Lilnrose Ears Looking At You Kazkell – RBOB

2 year red sable Phalene dog of correct proportions. Excellent presentation. In full, glamorous coat. Has the sweetest of expressions. Slightly longer than high when stood he is another I have seen before that has matured on nicely. He pushed hard for 1st but was just a little unsettled on the move

3rd Mr T R & Mrs C Headley – Lafford Dixon Of Dock Green
