Northern Pomeranian Club Open Show 01/09/2019

I’d like to thank the officers and committee of the Northern Pomeranian club for the invitation to judge their annual breed club open show. It's always a lovely and welcoming show with good atmosphere and food and it was a honour for me to be asked. Thank you to my two lovely ring stewards Dianne Smith and Jenna Chinn who kept me on track and the ring running smoothly. With 71 dogs making 81 entries it was a fabulous entry and I'd like to extend the huge thank you to all the exhibitors who supported my appointment and gave me the opportunity and trust to evaluate your dogs. It was greatly appreciated.

On the whole, coats were of good quality and presented well. Heads differed greatly throughout the day from very coarse to ultra sweet as did size and type. Movement was good. Sadly, there were numerous undershot mouths and open fontanels to be found.

1st L Browns - Furminator At Altina. 6 month old cream entire dog. Very pretty head with nice stop, oval eye, perfect pigment and mouth. Up to size and changing coat nicely which was perfectly presented. Really nicely constructed which was evident in his good movement both front and rear.

1st A Normans - Alexiasdream Shooting Star. 10 month old orange shaded sable perfect sized entire dog who looked a picture when standing. In good coat which was perfectly presented. Lovely head and expression, short muzzle and correct bite, good stop and pigment. Nice dark oval eye good ear placement and closed font. Nice short neck, good spring of rib and short coupled. Straight tail with good plume for age carried flat over his back. Lovely construction which enabled his true and sound movement with good reach and drive. BPD & BPIS. 

2nd J & J Chinns - Midawn Tough Cookie. 9 month old orange sable dog in great condition and good coat which was presented nicely, up to size, good mouth, nice oval eye & sweet expression. Nice body and straight tail in good plume carried nicely over his back. Good conformation and movement.

1st C Simmons - Petitpom Legend Of Love. 14 month old orange shaded sable in good junior coat which is in great condition. Perfect pigment, mouth and stop. Nice dark oval eye and ear size and placement. Straight tail over his back which gave him a lovely shape when standing. A short coupled dog with good spring of rib and correct angulation giving him nice movement both front and rear.

1st J & J Chinns - Midawn Chubby Brown. 2 ½ year old clear orange entire dog in full coat presented in perfect condition. Up to size with perfect mouth, pigment, eye. His construction and movement are his greatest assets.

2nd K Robinsons - Jackys Boy. Rising 2 years old orange Sable entire dog in nice coat. Lovely mouth, eye and expression. Nice tail set with good plume carried well over back. Movement could have been better today but that was largely due to him not wanting to cooperate with his handler

1st A Normans - Pomstyle Vivat Sweet Dream Of Alexiasdream (Imp). 2 year old wolf sable entire and up to size boy in good coat of correct texture. Quite masculine in head with a black pigment, nice short muzzle, gleaming dark oval small eye, perfect mouth, closed font and a lovely expression. Fabulous body with good depth of chest, spring of rib, short coupled with correct angulation resulting in fabulous movement which won him the class. RBD

2nd C Soulsbys - Aizens Dream Of Being A Star At Trenarwyn JW (Imp Esp) . 2 year old black entire dog in good and correct coat which was presented perfectly. Pretty head with jet black pigment, nice length of muzzle, good mouth, correct stop and lovely dark small oval eye. Short neck and coupling and up on toe. Well handled just preferred front construct & movement on winner.

3rd J Holroyds - Vibreks The Illusionist

1st C Holmans – CH Baromar Dubonet At Altina. 2 year old entire clear orange dog in perfect proportions and sweetest of heads. With the biggest of coats which was presented perfectly. Good pigment mouth and bite, nice short muzzle, Lovely small dark oval eye and tiny ears that are perfectly set. Fabulous body with good spring of rib and short coupled with correct angulation all round. Straight tail in full plume carried over his entire back which resulted in a lovely profile in stand and on the move. Movement was flawless. Pretty as a picture and happy to award him the class, Best dog and Best In Show.

2nd A Normans – Alexiasdream Is Fabioso JW ShCM. 2 ½ year old orange shaded sable correctly sized dog in good and correct coat. More masculine in head than winner, Nice pigment, mouth, eye, closed font, short neck, good body and short coupling. Nice angulation and movement.

1st C Holmans - Altina’s Isadorable. 7 months old red duel purpose bitch. Nicely changing coats but a bit naked today. Good pigment, nice ear set, good construction and sound movement.

1st B Fleetwoods - Auberge Honey Bee. 10 month old orange sable, nicely sized bitch in perfect coat and condition and beautifully presented. Lovely mouth & pigment, nice length of muzzle, closed fontanel, nice oval eye and expression. Lovely body with good spring of rib and correct angulation, short coupled with straight tail over back in full plume. Looked lovely in stance and on the move. Happy to award the class, BPB and RBPIS.

2nd C Soulsbys - Rhapsody Of Fire At Trenarwyn. 9 month old black bitch with a lovely head and sweet expression. Nice length of muzzle and good mouth. Nice dark sparkling eye, good stop and ear placement. Nice short neck and coupling. Very raw today but one to watch.

1st L Browns - Altinas Costa Minta. One year old nice orange duel purpose bitch in good coat of correct texture and presented perfectly. Sweet head with short muzzle, good pigment, nice eye. So well put together with really nice spring of rib and short coupling finished with a straight tail carried over her back with plume of long straight fur just finishing her look. Unfortunately she didn't want to cooperate with her handler today when moving which cost her the YB class.

2nd P Charltons - Reta Chanel Number One. 11 month old clear orange duel purpose bitch in nice coat which was presented nicely. Good pigment, eye & stop. Nice conformation & movement with a high set tail with good plume. Longer coupled than winner.

1st J Knott’s – Snowvilla Moonlight Magic JW. 20 month old orange sable very pretty bitch with a good quality coat. Just wish she'd have had more of it on the day as she was a very close contender for top honours. Sweet expression with a lovely oval eye, good mouth and pigment all round. Closed fontanel, near ears, short neck nice angulation in front and rear. Moved beautifully and so much to like. RBB

2nd J & J Chinns – Midawn Princess Indie. 11 month old light clear orange nicely sized duel purpose bitch in great coat and with a big attitude. Really sweet expression and darkest of pigment, good mouth, eye, stop, closed fontanel, small, neat and well placed ears. Short neck, good rib, nice front and rear angulation and short coupling. Straight tail with good plume carried well over her back. Perfectly presented and so much to like. Just didn't show her best here today but one to watch.

1st P Bridgens – Spanapoms The Way You Move At Lapchis. 2 year old Orange Sable nicely sized duel purpose bitch. Full and correct coat in beautiful condition. Sweetest of heads with good pigment, perfect mouth, dark oval sparkling eye, nice stop and closed fontanel. Correctly positioned neat small ears. Short neck, lovely spring of rib, nice front and short coupled with nicely angulated rear giving her flawless movement. Tail in full plume over her back giving her the complete package and winning her the class, Best Bitch & Reserve Best In Show

2nd A Fleetwoods – Spanapoms A Taste Of Honey At Auberge. 2 ½ year old orange sable bitch in full and good quality coat presented perfectly. Sweet expression, good pigment, nice mouth and small oval eye & neat ears. Nice body and short coupling. Lovely tail set with full plume.

3rd M Greens – Pomdelys Legally Blonde With Klassna

1st J & J Chinns – Gilberta Wings Magical Eyes At Midawn. 3 year old orange sable nice sized brood bitch in good coat. Nice dark pigment, perfect mouth and good eye. Nice body, tail set and lovely movement.

2nd M Allen's – Pomstyle Promise For You (Imp Rus). 11 month old orange sable in good coat for age and presented nicely. Showed well.

1st J & J Chinns – Midawn Watchful Wilma. 20 month old white quality brood bitch in good coat which was in perfect condition. Sweet expression with nice eye, good pigment and good ear set. Good mouth, closed fontanel. Nice body and good angulation. Moved well.

2nd E Berringtons - It's All Hocus Pocus At Altina. Sweet wolf sable boy with a correct and good coat. Sweet head and expression, lovely eye and stop, perfect pigment, fine bone, short back. Handled well.

1st J Knotts - Maid Of Starlight. 3 year old wolf sable bitch in good coat. Nice pigment and dark oval eye, nice body, straight tail with good plume. Moved well.

1st B Fleetwoods - Abbeyleigh Gingerella. 9 year old orange sable sweet bitch in good and correct coat, especially for her age. Lovely head with dark pigment and a lovely eye. Ears positioned correctly, short neck and very well covered body. Nicely constructed and moved well. BVIS

2nd G Hull-Greaves – Gillipom Crystal Illusion. 8 year old wolf sable bitch in good coat with sweet expression, good body, nicely set tail with plume. Just didn't moved as well as 1.
